    Worried

I was sleeved on March 14th...have lost 43 pounds since surgery...BMI went down from 35 to 31...looking great...feeling great. I am just worried because I have been hungry. When I eat, it doesn't take much to fill me up but I get hungry quick. I know that I am not eating my protein like I should and have been snacking around (that's what got me here in the 1st place). I went on vacation for a week...ate like crazy...then I was off last week...ate like crazy. Luckily, I didn't gain any but I haven't lost any either in the past 3 weeks. I know what I am supposed to do but gotta get my mind set on it. I just really had to vent and get it out of my system. Any suggestions on how to get back on track mentally. What do you eat that is filling to you w/o getting hungry quick.

Can't Believe I Just Ate All Of That!

You are able to eat chex mix? what kind do you eat. I have actually been eating sunflower seeds and it doesn't hurt my stomach. I chew them up real good. It gives me my crunch and salt at the same time and I have protein too.

Can't Believe I Just Ate All Of That!

I am 5 weeks post-op and I had the pintos and cheese for lunch...I have them about 3 to 4 times a week. It was my 1st real soft food meal and it was like a good ole steak to me...lol. The 1st time I ate them I think I ate about 1/4 of it and I was full. I never get to the point of the throat thing because I make sure I don't over eat. I eat very slowly. I did go through a hungry stage around my 2nd and 3rd week post-op but I think it was more mental. Food was my comfort and I felt like I was starving. So I would try to stay busy to get over that mental part...it was hard but I did it. I start regular food a week from today but I am OK with my soft food now and I realize I am not starving. So just try not to eat too much of it but like I said, it may be more mental and it's hard to tell if you are full until you get that awful feeling in your throat. I also order a baked potatoe and just make sure I mash it up good when I eat it...steak out has a very delicous and tender baked potatoe...that usually does me for 2 meals because they are so big. Good luck and try to stay positive. Just think, we will be slim and trim for the summer! lol

    1 Month Post-Op

I had my surgery on March 14th so I am about a week behind you. How much have you lost...it sounds like we were about the same size. I was wearing a 2x and now I can wear some xl blouses. My weight loss is going slower now and sometimes I am starving and wonder if I eat too much. I still can't take my vitamins...have you been able to take them? They just upset my stomach right now. I look and feel so much better though and know that in 3 weeks I won't feel so food deprived...lol. I have lost a total of 24 pounds (I weigh 200.5)...I so wanted to get down to 199 on my 3 week anniversary which was yesterday and was a little disapointed when my weight has been the same all week. I know in a couple days it will drop a couple so I am trying to be patient.
