Nightime is the worst. I plan a snack and force myself to wait to a specific time in the evening to eat it that way I have something to look forward to. I plan a sweet snack that's what satiafies me. Weight watchers frozen treats are good but. Gotta find the ones with less carbs. The bari wise or nutri wise hot chocolate are also great. The best part of my plan for me is to satay busy so the past few months I have been doing puzzles u know 500 to 750 pieces something challengin enough but I will complete. That keeps my hands and mind busy (while watching tv). Also recently I have two nights a week when I say I am not eating an evening snack or I will NOT eat anything after 9pm. If I do this twice a week I have bugun to learn to control those late night grazing sessions. For me its all about controlling the fatty voices in my head and after two years sleeved its still not easy. Good luck

Sar have a safe trip. -
Agree with everyone. I have never thought my binging was compulsive just done out of boredom and wanting the taste. Either salty then sweet. I do think for me over eating comes from not wanting to always be in control. At night when we are relaxed and sitting doing nothing my mind wanders and for some reason it wanders to something eat. These past few months I have begun working puzzles in the evening. It keeps my hands and mind busy and I am able to do less evening grazing. I will also go upstairs away from the kitchen. But even then I might take a zombie walk downstairs knowing I should stop but nothing in the head says stop! Like I can't help myself even though I know its wrong. But somedays when I am really focused and determined I dnt start. I get tired of being focused and in control hece the struggle

How was your 5:2 day today?

Hi ladies yesterday was a good fast day. I had to work from home which makes fasting harder for me. But I was determined and time went by drinking cups of hot green tea keeps the nibbles at bay. Ended the day at 508 with fish and veggies. Vet fourm not ever going to be for vets only. The newbies will always post and say "I want to ask a vet a question". Good memory LV it was me that came back to the site and had to post for weeks to get to 100 posts to join. Not sure there is a way around that or Alex can't keep them out unless he. Can. Use the surgery date in their profile instead of number of post. Being in IT myself I do believe that is possible. Funny being in IT and I can't figgure out how to enter a blank line in my post. Hahaha. UKCathy u sound down. Just one of those days? I know the feeling. "why am I tourturing myself? Why can't I control myself" "get off the couch and exercise" "won't matter stupid scale won't move anyway". But then I try to suck it up, tell the fatty in my head to shut up, and I try to have a good clean day. No treats on fast day I tell myself tomorrow u can have protien chocolate pudding or the weight watcher frozen treat I plan in on non fast days. Journey is long but we are in it for a reason. Hang in there ! Off to work today. Everyone have a good clean day -

Hi ladies. CGJ the booties are a keeper. Works well with the jacket you look great. Globe, I was shocked to hear about Paul Walker, how ironic one of the stars of fast and furious dying in a car crash. So sad.. he was young and so good looking. All the weight loss numbers gives me encouragement as well as some envy!!. But I'm not a hater.. so I'll stick with the YEAH!! way to go ladies!. Thought I've not lost but a few pounds on 5:2 I'm sticking with it. I do get other benefits, the restriction and control. Feed I know I am all over the place with why I'm not losing. I know you've all suggested exercise is the missing ingredient and I'm trying. I've decided to stop hunting for the right place and time to go for exercise. I've started using the on demand fitness channel to work out in the early morning and a follow up on the bike in the evening. Discipline is the key, and clearly I have little discipline. When you have to be focused all the time at work and in other areas, its so easy to give up on yourself.. Not sure why that is. If I had will power and discipline I wouldn't weigh 252 pounds right now. WHA!! WHA!! (baby crying).. Suck it up, step away from the chocolate and get moving. Have a great day ladies. Don't give up on me, I've not given up on myself. -
Let's get creative.

Happy day after Thankgiving ladies. I am in the mid USA on eastern time I seem to post off times from everyone else. I read and post typically in the early am. Not sure why that was relevant but anyway. I had a marvelous day yesterday. Thanks to my sleeve quantities were small but I enjoyed everything I cOoked and so did the fam. That is the best part of the day to have good times with family and friends. Sar 14 pounds down since u started that's great! 5:2 agrees with u. Todays a new day everyone give away the carb laden and sweet treats made and get back on track. That feast day is done. It is time to share some recipes for left over turkey. -

Globe how can they dx progressive so soon? Don't they have to. Watch for awhile? See if you show signs of progression. Isn't there a difference in primary and secondary? Don't u have to have a second MRI to determine that? I can only imagine the fear and uncertainty your feeling now. If it helps to talk/write about it we are here. -
Myfar7 that's my point when I try to bring in the good carbs I gain what ever I lost. I track my food especially when I am focused and trying to lose when my carbs go above 20 I gain or I don't lose. Below 20 is really hard

I find when I am really focused to get the scale moving I do not eat any carbs. Whem I eat zero carbs I am able to get past a stall and the scale starts moving. But the minute I introduce enen a small amount of carbs I start gaining. It is very frustrating because I want to eat balanced. I like a yogurt a piece of fruit and oatmeal. I can't enjoy life with zero carbs but that seems to be the only way my body wants to drop pounds. I have introduced slowly and still gained all I lost. BTW I am a 2 year vet never reached goal and still trying to drop 50 pounds. I have maintained my initial weight loss from surgery but not able to get a steady downward movement of the scale to make a difference. Its the carbs!

CGJ I love the jacket.this time of year I would wear that jacket. Then again I would always wear a jacket or sweater to cover the arm flaps. U don't have that issue any more. Blew my fast day over stupid Nutterbutter cookies. Came in at 745. Tracking everything that goes in my mouth is critical to losing. Today is my day off. Getting the house in shape for guests and starting the cooking. Now is time for me to remember its only one day have a normal week. The good thing about life, when u mess up u get the next day to get it right. So today I am putting my grandsons mini nutterbutters away and trying the fast day again. I will reward myself with a piece of the funnybone cake I make for the fam. What's a. Funnybone cake u ask? Imagine a Twinkie made of Devils food cake, inside is creamy peanut butter and the cake is covered with a smooth chocolate ganauch. My family is crazy for that cake I make it once a year. My mom wants pumpkin bars which I make with Stevia , she's a type 1 diabetic on dyalisis but eats everything. I will be baking those tempting morsals today. So to fast today will take all the will power I can muster! Wish me luck. Hey SAR is it just me but your head is missing from your profile pic. OD I watch all the Foodnetwork shows I never knew those mushrooms were big money. Laura u might wanna get in om that. Have a great day ladies -

Globe thanks that site is awesome. My son would love the pumpkin chipotle soup. I am not a chef hate to cook love to eat. But I do like to cook for Thanksgiving and sites like this one gives good ideas for something different and love the low carb stuff. Got a quote from Eggface "remember it's a holiDAY not a holiMONTH" goes with my thoughts to keep us on track -
Anyone Not Lose Weight?
BrownDoesAll replied to meaganchuckran's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Never ! It is impossible not to lose in the begining. However u can gain it all back if u don't stay focused be mindful of your eating. WLS is not a miracle cure its a tool that u use to lose weight and keep it off -
I have been doing it the big benefit for me is. The increased feeling of restriction I get the day after fast day. U don't actually fast u simply cut your normal calories down. Theory there cutting you calories twice a week and your overall calories are down and u should lose weight. I also like the fast days because those are the days I work on my self control I drcree those no snacking days I hve learned to control the night time snack monster by doing 5:2. Gotta also remember to stay on track the days your. Not "fasting". Reading the book or going to the 5:2 site will tell u about the science of it
