My journey has been awesome!. Sleeved in Nov 2011, so I'm 5 months out and have lost 65 pounds in total. Really happy about the inches, down 3 pant sizes. However. Its been really really slow since month 3. I watch the carbs, track my food intake, only eat protien and veggies during meals. At night I do eat a few crackers with cheese. Slow Losers UNITE!!. what is the secret to moving the scale faster?

Good job!!. Stay on track and you'll love the results

I took two weeks off and was very very week for those two weeks. I didn't start getting strength until end of the third week. My doc said it was a combination of the diet, low intake and the body adjusting to surgery and the anathetics used during surgery. The weakness was the hardest for me. Also follow the docs perscribed eating plan carefully. once during the first two weeks i tried to eat tuna, which I thought was mushy but it wasn't really and I had a close call... not a good experience at all. Once I past the third week things were getting much better. Now in my fourth month and I feel awesome and must admit I look great!! Good Luck!!

Share Your Ideas For Us Sleevers Who Still Love Sweets Post Op
BrownDoesAll replied to Liliana Arleen's topic in Food and Nutrition
I gotta watch the carb count, but I eat sugar free puddings. I add unflavored protein in sugar free pudding I make at home or simply eat the prepackaged ones from the store. I've also made sweet things from eggface.com. I've also made brownie recepie and put them in mini muffins.. with my family helping I only get a small protion and its fine. -
Eating And Drinking. At The Same Time?
BrownDoesAll replied to Harmonic15's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
My experience has been bad when I tried to eat and drink. I sort of feels like I'm over filling myself and something comes up my throat. There is a Utube video that shows the effect of fluids pusing food out of the stomach.. Which means the protein doesn't have a chance to stay in your stomach, when its pushed out you'll feel hungry sooner, which in turn makes you eat more. I admit besides giving up the trigger foods that make me overeat, not drinking with meals is hard. I watch the clock to see when I can driking again. My NUT said 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after. I think its one of those rules you should stick to for at least a year. I've heard from an old time sleever that is maintaing weight, she now eats and drinks at the same time, but she has stopped losing and is fine with that -
Almost 6 Months Out...
BrownDoesAll replied to Jai Marie's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Amazing!! You go!! I'm in month 4, eatting better, but not depriving myself. I admit hate to excersise but watching the inches and the weight come off. You look fantastic!! Congrats -
You sound like a red meat eater and that's cool, lots of protein in there. Might I suggest for new diner ideas fish. I put salmon in the oven, its quick its awesome and there are many varieties of fish so you wont get bored. Sometimes even a quick fry with small amount of olive oil for a talapia or whiting is soo soo good. I suggest tuna steak and salmon for the meat lovers becuase its a more stabstantial piece of fish.

Im Hungry Every 2 Hours- Only 27 Days Post Op...?!?! Is This Normal
BrownDoesAll commented on ahaliace's blog entry in ahaliace blog
I am three months out but I remember in the begining I felt hungry. I've seen on this site it could be acid check that out. But also with you being about three weeks out your still in the mushy stage and probably not getting alot of good protein. Increase the fluid through the day. If your getting in the prescibed amount of mushy food and its protein based, not veggies, not fruit those foods wont stave off the hunger, you'll soon adjust. hpe that makes sense -
I was looking for good WLS recipies and was pointed to the EggFace website. I love all the different suggestions and recipies on that site. I've made some of the mini muffin bite meals, and the pizza. Very easy to make and good to take for lunch. I love the lunch box ideas and day in my pouch. However.. I am tracking the amoujnt of protein and carbs I eat daily and her site does not contain nutrition info. Maybe I missed it.. what's the best way to break down the nutrition value in for example one of the mini muffin bites?

Satan's Little Helpers - Heaven/hell In A Warehouse

If I can limit myself to one serving (very difficult) Thin Mints serving size is 4, 160 cals, 22carbs, and 1 protein. I'll be glad when GS season is over. Then will have to contend with the chocolate Easter Bunnies. Thank you sleevie!! -
What The Heck Is Going On? I Want To Eat Everything In Sight...
BrownDoesAll commented on Maddy's blog entry in Maddy's Blog
We've all been there. If your really physically hungry increase your protein and drink more. I find if I'm sipping something I like to drink i'm not hungry. if your emotionally "head hungry" then get rid of the carb chips, and find snacks low or with zero carbs. might not be the best thing but I eat porkrinds. They are a great crunch and zero carbs. I sometimes dip them in cream cheese, or dip made from greek yogart, or laughing cow cheese. Head hungry is hard to manage if you don't recognize it and try to change the habits. Good luck!! -
Yep.. the inches come off faster then actual weight. Everyone told me they could see it in my face. I looked younger. Your doing something right. Keep up the good work.

Emotional eating, we've all been there. We are all still there. The sleeve will only help partially. It does not let you over eat at one time. However.. it does not prevent you from grazing, and eating bad choices through the day. Once we start there our weight we've worked so very hard to lose starts to come back. Its a daily struggle. I'd agree with others that have said, try stress managment, try to occupy your mind with other things that give you pleasure. I have found with the sleeve my cravings for certain foods are gone so that helps. Bottom line we must try to find something why we have the void that food fills, and try to find something else to fill it. Its hard but continue to check out this site. Lots of folks looking to help.

way to use that blender. Be careful I tried to move past mushie stage too fast its not fun. Stick to the blender approach you'll do fine. I added protein to pudding. That felt good going down and I was getting in protein. I didn't find blending meats was tastey. your doing great

Much inspiration!! Helps to know it can be done. Slow and steady wins the race. Congratulations -
What point are you at? I can say I felt the same way in the very begining. Once I had the surgery my focus was clear. Eat Protein, then veggies, take vitamins and get excersise. That's my life now. Its no longer overwhelming but it is always there. I get to this site at least once a day, it does help. Your not alone.. and I've found the people on this site very helpful. Hang in and Check in. This will give you good support

It's Girl Scout Cookie Season....aaarrrrgggghhh!
BrownDoesAll replied to apw0's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I"ve asked my family not to bring any in the house, to please keep them in their cars or their office. They are addictive little devil cookies. I'm afraid to start and go on a downward sprial. We can use this site to get the carb and calorie count. I think if I know what I'm eating it will help me to stop. I know the sleeve will not let me eat a box at a time, like I used to, but Thin Mints (my fav) are 22 carbs for 4.. and I'm sure I eat more then 4 in one day. http://www.girlscoutcookies.org/nutrition_info_2011_2012.asp?iframe=true&width=940&height=500 Good luck.. Good news is, they only come once a year. -
Great inspiration!

Weight Loss With Or With Out Vsg
BrownDoesAll replied to Octavia C. Byrd's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't think the sleeve gives you discipline. Its a tool you use to help gain your own discipline. I find I still have to have will power to stay away from foods I KNOW I shouldn't eat, will power to limit the amount of carbs I take in, will power to limit snacking and when I do the discipline to make the right choices. The sleeve is not a magic bullet. I find it does help me limit the amount of food I take in , and for that reason it works for me. I guess you must ask yourself.. why did all the other diets fail? -
i am tired of eating eggs for breakfast. I do not get a lot of protien for breakfast. I typically have scramled eggs, or egg and cheese omelette. I've done the breakfast quiche, the egg and sausage wrap. I am tired of eggs for breakfast protein. Please help with protien packed suggestions for breakfast. I've tried putting Isolate Protien supplement in my oatmeal ( I love oatmeal) that turned into a solid mass of mush in minutes I couldn't stand the sight of it. Help!! FYI. I am 5 weeks out and on soft foods
