Paying it forward! Workout advice!
therealme89 posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
So I'm a veteran at this whole lifestyle now. I exercise daily and eat well most of the time! I've lost 100lbs overall! Recently I had a friend who is really unhealthy and significantly over weight ask me to help him workout at the gym. This is a big step for him because he doesn't like admitting he's unhealthy. I know he reached out to me because he knows I understand his struggle but I don't even know where to begin with him at the gym! Any suggestions? I was thinking about couch to 5k which actually even that might be a struggle for him but does anyone else remember what was helpful at the beginning stages of working out ?? -
I'm about 3 years out of surgery 100lb weight loss...so I occasionally have those days where I eat too much and pay for with pain that last hours and gas! Any suggestions as to what to do when this happens?

Mine is going to cost 7,000 . I hear average cost is about 6,000 . I'm getting mine done at Cedars Sinai in Beverly Hills because that's the place my dr recommended so I'm paying on the higher end of the scale but I'm too scared to go anywhere else I figure better safe than sorry because I'm a baby when it comes to surgery lol -

Thank you all for your responses they are so very helpful. I'm very nervous mostly because I'm scared of surgery lol the only other survey I've had was my lapband surgery and that went smooth so I'm sure this will too! Other questions: Compression sleeves did any of you use them recommend them ? Did you all have drains after surgery if so for hot long ? How soon after surgery can you drive ? When were you able to go back to the gym ? -
No need to tell people. I didn't . No need to get everyone's "expert" opinion. My battle my buisness. Only I knew what it was like emotionally and physically to be big and only I can understand my decision to get LB and the everyday battle even now. But congrats on your decision. And we are here for you. I didn't tell many people so I confide in this forum

I recommend the couch 2 5k that is what I did when I started working out and I loved it ! I've now ran a few 5k's and in a few months I will be running a half marathon in tribute and celebration of my 100lbs weight loss ! -
