I am just curious if anyone who lost weigh feels the way I do? Let me start off by saying I started this journey at 338 pounds before surgury.. My date of surgury was 12/1/12 I weighed in at 309. I now weigh in at 221 4/25/12. My issue is I know I lost weight.I can tell with my clothes. I went from 3x -shirt to a extra large... Jeans 28\30 to now 16 n sometimes 13/14 .everyone notices the weight lose.But when I look in the mirror I still see the old me.Does this ever go away? Will I always see myself as a big woman? I know I am only 4 months out and still have away to go but shouldnt I see a differance when I look on the mirror?

Kathy it will work...im happy with my sleeve..when I was on liquids all I wanted was to chew food...now that I can chew I really dont care to eat...i used to love food...i was a big pasta eatter.now I eat cause I have to not cause I want to...food doesnt phase me like before...hang in there n give it achance..i just hope u still have ur tastebuds n can enjoy what u r eatting...

Thank you all for responding..i am so glad I am not the only one going thru this...i will try all your suggestions...i just get so disappointment when I go to eat and hate the taste..i just want something that I can eat that I actually like the taste...hopefully it gets easier..im never hungry but I know I have to eat..n when I do eat my stomach growls back at me...im starting to think my stomach is really upset with me...lol i didnt post my weight before so here it is.. I lost 36 pounds before post op....post op was 302 ..surgury Dec 1,2011...n as of date I am 270..

Im one month post op & can eat soft n moist food...but im wondering if anyone has the same problems as me..my tastebuds change everything I liked to eat before I dont care for anymore..i am having hard time with meat..i just dont like it now.. N when I do eat I only can handle 2~3 teaspoons of food ..basically all food has a weird taste to me..so weird that I am hardly eatting...any suggestions..

I am right along with u my surgury is Dec 1.. 5 more days to...I am excited and scaried at the same time ....i have already lost 55 lbs on my own so this should be easy to do...hopefully...i wish u the best of luck and hope for a speedy recover...let me kno how r u doin...good to have someone who is getting it done the same day i am.. We can do this girl..=)

Im so excited my surguey is Dec 1 ,2011...Yayyy baby!! I start the protein diet on Thursday....I hope I do well on this diet..looks hard . And even have seen some utube videos of people who couldnt do it . So Im hoping I can ...Gratz to all the Dec sleevers!! Going love breaking in 2012 with my sleeve .... =) Good luck everyone...
