I am dealing with this struggle myself. The surgery itself is no a cure all. I knew this going in. I battle to curb grazing and making poor food choices. I wasn't exercising, and wasn't losing. Currently I am going back to basics. Started with the dreaded protein shakes for breakfast and lunch. Started walking on the treadmill daily. Finally the stall has broken. Going on vaccation with my family two weeks ago was a eye opener. Wow the amount of food was overwhelming! I certainly realize why the whole crew is obese. I am going to break this cycle starting with myself and my kids. I know I eat when I am stressed. Food is such a compulsion for me. Well after this rant, what I really want to say, is WE GOT THIS. I know you can do it and I can do this. If you need support you got it. Thanks for sharing it's great to know I am not alone, in what I am feeling. surgery1 2-19-11 HW 362 SW 344 CW 278 85 lbs down! 100 to go!

Being Called A Loser
rebecca b replied to rodswife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LOL I know loving being a loser, also had to laugh how excited I was when my surgeon yesterday told me I was not longer super morbidly obese I am just morbidly obese, and next time will just be obese. Never thought that would make me excited!!! sleeved 12-19-11 -

Questions For Post Op People
rebecca b replied to loriK2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This was the best thing I have ever done for myself. It is worth sagging skin, my thining hair. I used to be on 7 medicines a day now I am on one BP med and one reflux med. I used to have diabetes, now don't. I have more energy, I can play with the kids, take a walk with out becoming short of breath or having to stop. I can fit into booths at a resturaunt. There are so many things that are becoming a possibilty. Then greatest two things I love are that I feel full for the first time in my life, and I no longer feel hungry all the time. In reality the only con, and it's not a biggie is that food used to a comfort, I now realize it really was a malignant comfort, causing me only bad health, and sadness. Nether the less it took some adaptation on my part. I did have one cheat dinner during per op dinner. Did lose 13 pound even thought I did that. I only know of the success stories here there are not that maany sleeves around my area, just the 20 some my surgeon had done at the time of my surgery. I know my ongoing success, that I will tak ONE DAY AT A TIME! sleeved 12-19-11 -
hadn't had a cycle for over 6 months, I got it during surgery and am back now to every 28 days, i want getting my period secondary to my weight. This is the only minus in my opinion to my sleeve. LOL sleeved 12-19-11

I know this has been said before, but when it happens to you you just want to scream it to the hills! Went out for lunch with DH, and I slid in to the booth with room to spare. I used to be squished in there like a overstuffed sausage. My DH was sensitive enough to smile and notice before I said a word. No more tables for this lady anymore, I'll be chillin in a booth thank you. ps still freaks me out how little fills me i love my sleeve! sleeved 12-19-11

2 Days Pre Op Praying To Go Home Today
rebecca b replied to andi0120's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When you get those stomach cramps, sit up very straight and push your chest out slightly arching your back and it should ease. Also walking around will help. Tips someone have me when I was fresh post-op. Hope it works for you! Speedy recovery with little pain! sleeved 12-19-11 -

Don't beat yourself up over a few Cookies. Yes you can eat crap, and you can also choose not to. I felt the same angst regarding about the same time along where you are now. I battle the old addictive demons, but every week they get easier to beat back. I am going to be stonger. I am gonna be who I was always meant to be. You can too. One bad day does not define you.... And I eat three small meals, and two very small Snacks like 1oz cheese. It helps me keep the blood sugar even and steady. My NUT said a that 5-6 meals and snack a day. One plan does not fit all. Good Luck and hang in. sleeved 12-19-11
