Chivon32 replied to Chivon32's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok cool does not sound to bad. Have 3 appointments today ugh, so we are doing it on Thursday instead last thing needed before surgery. I am at my preop exam now waiting and waiting. Got here early as I live about an hour from Boston Mass where I am having my surgery. Excited to just get it done already!! -
I also have Isopure 50 grams of protein... Was on my list of shakes. Started my 2 week preop on the 2nd. Same plan as you. Except mine has one meal 4oz protein and veggies.

Chivon32 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Started my pre-op diet and working 3rd shift now. Do i have my shakes overnight if i had them during the day?? My pre-op diets is 4 shakes a day, 8-8oz glasses of water or sugar free fruit2o, 1 meal with 4 oz protein and green veggies daily. I am wondering if anyone else has had to do this while working overnights. And how it worked out for them?? -

Working 3rd shift and Pre-op diet how does that work?
Chivon32 replied to Chivon32's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks guys!! I am just going from 1st into 3rd and my schedule is awkward right now.... So I had my shakes all day then had to work a night shift just did not want to over do it. Half of my preop diet will be days and half overnights. You know... To make things 10 times harder for myself lol. Changing shifts right before surgery sucks!! -

How long afture insurance approval is your surgery typically scheduled for?
Chivon32 replied to karpouzian's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was scheduled before approved. Still not approved and my date is May 16th. I think they know which insurances work quickly and who doesn't. I have BCBS of Mass PPO. -

May 2013 Sleevers!
Chivon32 replied to boomarienewme's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wishing you the best as well Misslady!! I am going into Brigham and Woman's hospital for an appointment with my Nut tomorrow. I am more nervous due to the bomb threats there today. Boston will also be a mess due to the president being there. I live in New Hampshire and travel 45 min to Boston because i feel that's the best hospital's for care. But nothing is going to stop my process not even terrorist's!!! -
May 2013 Sleevers!
Chivon32 replied to boomarienewme's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am getting sleeved on May 16th. I am 5'6" 263 pounds. I am 32 and just tired of this battle. My husband is wonderful and supportive. Others think its a bit extreme ...but at the end of the day they don't matter. My health does!! I was first going for the Lap-band. Then I found out at my seminar that the failure rate for it was 4 out of 10. So I opted for the sleeve. I am excited and scared all at once! I just met my surgeon April 8th got my surgery date on April 11th. Brigham and Woman's hospital in Boston MA. I still have to meet with my nutritionist on April 18th. So I have began trying out protein shakes, trying to eat just one light meal a day, lots of water and walking. Doc asked me to lose 10 to 15 pounds before surgery. I must say this process has gone much faster then I expected. But I am happy!! -
2 months and 44lbs down pictures!

You look great!! Congrats! -
Wondering how long most have stayed out of work post-op? I work at a hospital and am wondering just how much time I might need to take. I also have a 11 month old and wonder how hard it will be to care for her. My hubby took off two weeks to help out. But I would love to be able to return to work after 2 weeks. I have had 2 csections... Bounced back from them quick. Will this be the same?

Getting Sleeved May 16th!
Chivon32 replied to Chivon32's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
LOL i called right away too!! I need as much input as i can get. I was givin my surgery date so quickly that i feel like i have sooo much to do before May 16th. I only met with my doc on April 8th!! Went to an educational seminar on the 9th...got my my date on the 11th. Now for insurance to be approved but i don't think that will be a problem. I have BCBS Massachusetts and they don't require the 6 month weight loss process. Just a Psych eval and my meetings with the nutritionist 3 of them. Which i am have all this done on the same day. -
