I understand the self-sabotage....I was told to lose 10 pounds before my procedure....that was in Feb...2nd to be exact....but because I've been letting stress get to me and I turned to something that I felt would "comfort" me, I've gained 20 pounds.... I didn't have a food funeral, but I did what I called, "tweeked out" and just didnt give a damn, because I was mad about an issues in both my personal and professional life.... I've sought therapy to try to figure this out and help me go this change....one thing she said to me on thursday is that I need to have more integrity in my food choices..I have integrity in my professional life, with people, but not with food, and I need to change that..if it passed through my lips I write it down...understand that food isn't going anywhere, so I must cope with co-existing with it...she really made me take a honest look at myself....its the reason why I've started this pre-op diet 1 week earlier than I'm suppose to...

lol, the sad thing is that I didn't go on a "food funeral"....I was stressed and I just wasn't thinking when I eating, I ate what I wanted when I wanted....and the crap caught up with me

I'm starting mine today as well...my actual start pre-op diet start date is May 28th, but I've gained 20 pounds since Feb (I have a very stressful job)....I need to get it off...

Well...I'm glad I've already earned my Masters and already completed 1 year of doctorial work....lol... But if ghrelin only helps in finding food...if you write what you eat down, you should be good! ))

we do a pre-op diet to shrink our liver and in my opinion our stomach as well....going on all liquids allows your body to purge the food in your system and release some of the fat that is stored in our liver. I'm actually having my last meal tonight, its a baked potato and beef chef salad...yeah I know doesnt sound like its something really gross, but I love a baked potato and a salad, it will be a while before I will be able to eat a salad again so I am enjoying one tonight!!

I'm taking grad classes online....I plan on having the procedure and not missing a class....just have to plan plan plan...

what flavor did you get??

My insurance is paying 80% for that....all of my pre-op stuff my insurance covered 80% of it....see if your insurance can do the same for you...

Yeah I'm waiting until I'm in my last week to pamper myself....as a reward for sticking the liquid fast out...thinking to put glitter tips on my nails for surgery day....my red nails were a conversation piece when I had my Scope done...lol

Excited...I'm getting my braids done on Saturday...and have my final pre-op appt on next Tuesday....

I am keeping my procedure pretty hush hush as well....I've only told 4 people at work, my boss, and three close co-worker/friends, all sworn to not tell...I would avoid bring up the topic, and if someone ask what you are doing, tell them you are cutting your carbs and eatting right....smaller meals 5 to 6 times a day....all the truth, just not mentioning the surgery part... I agree with you having surgery is no ones business but yours

I am paying 17700 for my revision from lapband to sleeve....it includes 1 year of follow-up care...he charges around 12000 for just the sleeve

I was wondering if any of you stopped your birth control pills before having the procedure?? I've been debating it, my doctor never mentioned anything about it....I have m last pre-op appt on the 22nd and I'm thinking to ask him if I needed to stop them for a while....

ok...IJS....if you are overly concerned about how a man (who cares of race) feels about your body, you need to have more confidence in yourself, and maybe see someone if you need to....it really doesn't matter who says what to whom....in the end you have to feel good about you....this surgery is about health, not beauty....yeah once you lose the weight you will fit more of the standard "oh she looks so good, real good" comment most people say when someone loses alot a weight, but this is about health....any I think any man (any good man) will respect a woman who is taking care of herself, then wondering how big her butt is.... And if a person is really concerned about booty and bustiness, there are garments to help ya out....
