next year I will be 1 year post op for my birthday.....and if I make goal like I plan to I'm planning a trip to Italy...not looking forward to the plane ride, but I've always wanted to go....so me and some friends are planning on the trip...

No, ou should not be worried...I didnt start losing weight until day 14....my first week post op I'd gained...I felt like the bottom dropped out of me I was so upset.....it took my aunt to "slap" some sense into me....and once I talked to her I was ok.....week 2 I stepped on the scale, I lost I think 10 pounds, then week 3 I'd dropping I think another 8.....so including my pre-op loss I'm at 39 pounds down.... I weigh in for week 4 monday..... Dont start worrying about weight now....focus on healing....

My NUT talked about those yesterday...she recommended them for when we were further out postop

I had my band for 7 years and was able to revise to at sleeve last month....did your band erode into your stomach?? What caused you to desire revision surgery?? I desired mines to be removed because I wasn't losing any weight with it....had it for 7 years and lost 40 pounds to gain it back again...then my weight started to creep up.... I honestly never heard of any film....I know my doc said I had lots of scar tissue because my band was so old....my procedure took 2 hrs, instead of the 45 min a typical sleeve procedure take... If you dont understand or dont feel comfortable with him get a second opinion BEFORE having the procedure done...

I teach elementary....I also have a co-worker who had RNY so she will stay on me with eating... Well you know lunch doesn't exist 30min (what's that) so I'll probably eat or drink something...and plan a meal around 3:15 to eat my after school duty... BTW....I'm not looking forward to August....because the back biting and 50 million questions will begin....

Lord you and me both, I just checked my tummy too....he made a incision right below where my port used to be, and I didnt feel anything praise God.... one the reasons why I wanted revision was because that port would hurt when I bend over and stay in that position for too long of a time.... I would schedule a appt to talk to your doctor directly to ask him why in the sam hill did he left that thing in you?!?!

Same thing happened to me, plus I caught a virus going to the movies week before last....I went to the doc he told me I was doing too much and need to take it easy before I end up back in the hospital (I dont want to go back) he gave me a script for celebrex and a anti-inflamatory last thursday....I took them and rested the last couple of days, and today was the first day I didnt need them.... SO I've learned my lesson, I'm not doing too much too soon anymore

Did he give you anti-nausa tabs too?? when I took that lortab it made me nausous...so I took one of the anti-nausa tabs he prescribed and it worked

My doc also said no aleive and stuff, but if he prescribes it, its safe to take

The only issue I find myself having post op is that my mouth gets dry quickly, so carrying water with me everywhere helps with that....I hope it doesnt get worst in the fall...

I was told to not chew it because if I accidently swallow it, it can cause a blockage....as far as forever....you need to ask your doctor, my doctor just doesn't like his patients chewing gum in the first months....

Dont worry, the same thing happened to me...give your body time, you just had major surgery.....you're probably retaining fluid....just be patient

My family knows, my real friends all know....people at work, only told 4 and that includes my boss.... The next 3 weeks will go by fast for you...if your doctor gave you a pre-op plan to do.....stick to it...the first 3 to 4 days will be hard, but its smooth sailing after those days.... I praise God I'm on the "losers bench" now....everyday I'm feeling better and better....

You wrote alot on your post....alot of the questions you have can be answered here on the site if you read the other discussion postings.... I'm 3 weeks post-op revision, and yes there is a higher complication rate, yes the pain can be intense, but that can go for all surgerys, pain is a tolerance thing....I had my band 7 years, it was good the first year, and eventually I was unable to lose, I just stayed at 315....it was a friend who suggested to me to look into VSG, also my ob/gyn...I feel blessed that Ive had it done....
