Hood Milk And Soy Slender --- Really Good
PEvette replied to DanaInNewOrleans's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
A friend of mine who had RNY told me about the Hood Milk....I cant find it here in Houston...she lives in Oklahoma now... -
My NUT said that during the weighloss phases I should be between 800-1000 calories a day, but focus on protien, 60-80g a day....

I listen to rap when I workout....right now Jay-Z and Rick Ross....when I am doing stretching, I listen to R&B, right now Jennifer Hudson....and sometimes Adele

Has Anyone Had Their Toes/finger Nails Done For Surgery?
PEvette replied to Avillias's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a pink and white powder solar on my hands and white tips on my toes....the only issue I had was when I had my nails painted....the anestiaologist told me not to color my nails for the surgery, and I asked if I could atleast do powder, but I wear arylic on my nails for a reason (I'm avery bad nail biter, and I will not bite the arylic, too painful, tried 3 times, ugh) So ask..... -
Dont panick, you are only 4 weeks out...you didnt just wake up fat, its going to take time....your body has just had major surgery....the doctor removed what 80-85% of your stomach and all you are going to lose is 20 pounds?? come on now.... Just calm down and let your body heal
-
Usually at 6 weeks out your doctor will give you a free pass on all exercises....
-
This is a decision that you really need to make.....its good to get input from others, but you need to make the decision.... The people on here are very supportive and will answer questions, but the question you are asking is one that you need to decide on.... WLS is a big decision to make, picking which one to do is to me an even bigger decision because there are many, and people react differently to different procedures.... Good luck with whatever you decide...

Leak - When No Longer A Worry?
PEvette replied to Shape_Shifter's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The risky part are the first 3 weeks...but you need to be careful the first 6 months...after that most doctors believe you are pretty much healed -
Teachers? Where Are The Teachers?
PEvette replied to ShouldBlittler's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I don't report back until next Monday, but I have been on campus....I've received some interesting reactions....some people still trying to figure out what is different about me, the 3 who know I've had surgery have been laughing, lol at my expense because Friday while I was talking to my colleagues/friends three people walked up to ask me if my hair changed...lol...and I told ten casually no, it's the same....lol -
lol, you really are new.... Did you actually talk to the nurse when she called you?? Did you make a appt to see the doctor??? I would take it from there and ask questions about their process because the requirements vary, its based on what your insurance requires as well as what the doctor requires....
-
I would talk to the principal privately about what's going on....I went to my principal to tell her about my revision I had in June, and not to share the info with my co-workers (I dont have to tell you how other women can be) and she is being very supportive....
-
Well, I asked that question too, and I was told No, because the Bars usually have more carbs in them....only liquids....
-
Yes it is too soon, I'm surprise you doctor or the hospital didnt tell you not to do those things before you left.....
-
I can only get in 1 at any given time....I usually make the recipe and freeze 1/2 of them (my freezer is slowly getting full) You can eat them when your doctor releases you to regular food, for me that was at 6 weeks post-op
-
Yes, its near the soy sauce, in the asian foods section...you may need to goto one of those upper end stores like Kroger

Nauseousness? When Will It Go Away?
PEvette replied to TiredOfChubRub's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
YOu need to contact your doctor ASAP that's not a good feeling... -
Before I had surgery, I was selective in who I told....I wasn't interested in hearing unsolicited advice....now being 2 months post op, I have the motto of if a person doesn't ask, then I will not tell....honestly its no ones business unless you want to the a spokesperson for WLS.... SO when people ask, I tell them I'm following a high protien diet and limiting my carbs, and its working....whether they choose to believe it or not, is not my concern, honestly I dont go around asking people about their weight losses or gains.... If a person doesnt come out and out right ask me, I dont tell...

The first 3 days will be HELL...there's no way around that....on day 4 it will feel like you've had a breakthrough, and it should be smooth sailing from there... Just expect the first 3 days to be HELL....dont plan to go around people with food or try to handle food the first 3 days.....

What Do You Tell People When You Dont Want Them To Know?
PEvette replied to Carrie's Journey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I usually tell people that I'm following a high Protein, meat and veggies diet with limited carbs.... But now if someone comes out and ask me if I had the sleeve done, I tell the truth and say yes I did....otherwise if they dont ask I won't tell.... lol -
Finally Made My Decison!
PEvette replied to Jessica89's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You made a good decision...I am a revision person, and I have no regrets!! -
Touchdown!!!! I'm 50 pounds down!!!! June 11-Aug 11 (2 months post-op) 50 pounds down!!! SO proud!!!!

#1 its extremely hard to stretch the sleeve, because its made with firmest muscles in our stomach....second, you are too early out, you are more likely to be still swollen than stretch out the sleeve... I think you need to relax, and heal...follow your doctor's orders, and try not to get all OCD over your weight loss....yet...lol.... Its more important for you to get in your Water and try to get in as much protien as possible right now...it helps with the healing process....

There's nothing wrong with attending seminars....I attended 3 and did my own research before narrowing down to my surgoen.... You do what you need to do in order to have a safe and effective procedure
