    February 2007 bandsters!

:faint: I'm 9 days post op and so so so so sick of the liquid phase! My surgeon requires pts to stay on liquids for 3 full weeks after surgery. I'm taking the Profect twice a day and mixing my Protein Powder with non-fat milk to get in the rest of the Protein (have to get in 70 g per day). But I'm so hungry! I didn't expect to be, but I'm starving and I'm only 9 days into the 3-week cycle! Then I have my follow-up with the surgeon and he will decide whether or not I can go on to pureed foods (mushies). But gosh, I'm terribly sick of the protein stuff already. I can have only thin liquids (broth, non-fat milk, Protein Drinks, sugar free Jello, sugar free popsicles). And I also have head hunger!!! Any tips from experienced bandsters on how to deal with the hunger issue? Thanks! Tina D

    February 2007 bandsters!

First of all, thank you to Susannah for the congrats! I actually called my sister and told her after the surgery and her only comment was, "Oh. Are you going to take a day off of work?" So...not too much support there. Anyway, I had a bit more trouble today than yesterday and wanted to know does anyone know if trouble with burping resolves over time? Thank you so much, Tina_D

    February 2007 bandsters!

Had surgery yesterday at 8:00. Surgerical team was just great. Surgeon said, however, that they were surprised that once they got in, I had a lot of fatty tissue around my internal organs, and he had to cut quite a bit away from the stomach in order to get the band on.:cry My surgeon was so great and supportive, though. He said he's really confident I will do well and get rid of all the fatty tissue in the dangerous area now. But I haven't had any really bad pain. This evening I feel not so great, but anyway it's over with. I had no problems hitting the required 70 g protein and 62 oz water today. I was so thirsty. I was really disappointed that when I tried to go for a walk, I could only go 5 minutes outside. It was kind of painful. I think I was supposed to do 30 minutes today. Anyway.
  4. :nervous Hi! I'm getting my lapband (finally) next week. I've been looking into WLS for 7 years (!!) So gosh I'm not excited at all I just feel nervous and wish it were all over and that I'd be losing already. I would love to meet some folks who have already been through this and could offer some encouragement? Thank you so much! Tina

Hi I'm Tina and will be getting my band next week.:nervous
  6. Actually, you are one of the folks who have inspired me the most. I've read different threads over the last few years here. My surgeon basically referred me to this forum saying that this was an excellent source of information! Thank you so much!!!
