I dont know how healthy this is, but at the rare times I have to eat fast food, a small taco salad from taco time is really good. I can only manage a bite or 2 of the tortilla chips, but the meat and lettuce and cheese go down fine.

Unfortuantly yes, I m down from 225 to 162 with a goal of 140. Ive been stuck in the 160s for a loooong time, I finally got to 158 2 weeks ago, then ate poorly and I m stuck at 162 , again! this last 20 lbs is not easy as my body is fighting the weight loss end, all normal per my Dr.

Being able to paint my own toenails, no big tummy in the way ! Going from a frumpy size 18 to a cute size 10! Oh, the cute clothes.... i love goodwill !! Running ! The daily compliments , the fact that that I no longer have sleep apnea !, liking what I see in the mirror, my hubbys compliments"your legs are so thin !," and cuddling " you're so much smaller ! " feeling better all around, not feeling yucky all the time, etc....... I want to shout it from the rooftops to every overweight person I see " there's ' a solution and its called lap band !!! -
im at the end of menopause and suddenly have gone from years of being too warm and hot flashing to being much cooler and wearing a stocking cap most of the time and thick socks and a sweater ! I also wear a pretty scarf every day, this keeps my body temp more regular.A co worker told me that when she lost a large amount of weight she went from hot to cold too, but eventually her body adjusted back to normal.

I absolutely cant eat raw broccoli, and no chicken breast , but chicken thighs are fine. Same with pork chps, theyre too thick, but pork loin is fine. Also , no deli general tsos chicken , its too thick. Other than that I just have to eat 3 bites of potatoes or bread and then I get heartburn and stop, but im surprised at how little I miss those foods. Down 63 lb with 20 or so to go. Cant wait, getting there slowly and healthy , today I wore size 10 skinny jeans ,, not the old lady size 18s I used to wear , who cares about what little I cant eat . Not me ,,, wheeee ,,,

What not to say to somebody who is getting a band...
pink dahlia replied to Terry Poperszky's topic in Rants & Raves
WOW ! I never heard one negative comment ! I feel very lucky that I heard nothing bad, but if I had I would of just put it off to 'That's their problem, not mine ". I did read one funny quote that might help.... " A tiger doesn't lose sleep over the opinion of sheep ! " Oh, how true ! We are all "Tigers" when it comes to weightloss ! -
You have to remember , you've just gone through surgery ! To your body , that's " EEEEEEEEEK !!!!!!! Whats going on ??" It takes time for your body to get back to normal, and start adjusting to a new lifestyle. In the meantime you can feel crabby and down and lots of other emotions. Once your body adjusts to it all, it should calm down. Keep in mind monthly hormones don't help, etc. I found that since I ate healthier after the surgery and wasn't eating 90% of the junk/processed food that I had before, my body adjusted to the band very quickly. I had NO problems and was happy to find all my digestive problems disappeared, and eventually my sleep apnea too (Down 62 lbs , 23 to go !) If you're still having problems down the road let your Dr know Good luck !

It depends on whether I need a fill or not, I DO need a fill but cant get in for one until Aug 12th, so im not eating as good as I would with a fill, as im hungry a lot more right now. When im at the Green Zone, my usual is 1200 cals or so. Breakfast is a home made protein smoothie, lunch is leftovers, usually some protein with a little fruit or veggies, dinner is the same . Hubby is diabetic so we eat a lot of chicken ,fish and some red meat, brown rice, whole grain pasta fruit, salads veggies etc . For snacks I like PB on apples slices, 1/2 granola bar, or WW ice cream (YUM !) Myfitnesspal .com was an eye opener as far as calories in certain foods. 2 Tbls of unsalted sunflower seeds was almost 200 cals ! Who knew ???

Ive been banded 19 months and I haven't had any hair loss at all. If anything, my thin fine hair has gotten a little thicker, I think because of all the protein im eating. A hairdresser recommended Joico brand shampoo, cond and volume mousse. Im don't see a huge difference with the shampoo or cond but WOW the mousse sure gives me a " full head of hair "look !

Everything dazzlingone said, plus being able to paint my own toenails , ( no tummy in the way !) The thrill a few weeks ago when my size 12 pants got too big and I easily slipped into a size 10 ! EEEEEEEEEK !!!!!! Shopping is waaaaay easier, with lots more cute clothes out there ! The almost daily compliments and nice looks from others. ( Hey, im married, not dead, and I wont lie, it's niiiiiiiiice !) I lost the weight but the boobs stayed ! Holy smokes, I have a nicer figure now than when I was in my skinny 20's ! The absolute thrill of putting on cute running clothes and going for a simple jog, for me THAT is pure heaven, as it was a big goal of mine to be able to say " Im a runner !" Slow, but I run ! It just keeps getting better and better !

Embarassed to even post... but desperate for support!!!!!

Ive never been a binge eater so I have no advice for you on binging itself, but maybe since you're living, breathing and sleeping on what the scale says, throw away the scale ! Seriously, if the #s on the scale is whats causing you to binge, just toss the scale and go by how your clothes fit , how you feel and your improved health ! Good luck ! -

I guess im confused on how you "cheated ?" Because you ate something that wasn't healthy ? Welcome to the real world ! Nobodys diet is perfect, my own Dr said as long as I ate healthy 95 % of the time, id be fine. He was right, and I include a treat every day in my daily amount of food. I had 2 chocolate chip cookies today , mmmmm ! What did you "cheat " with ?

Buy a Wii or XBox for Fun Exercise
pink dahlia replied to fashionstylist's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I haven't tried it myself but ive heard a lot about Bodyrocktv.com. Its supposed to have all sorts of FREE workouts you can do at home. Ive also heard of Insanity Workouts. We did get the Tony Horton 10 minute Trainer a long time ago, tried it a few times and really felt like a strong workout. We don't do it anymore as we have no room to do it but it was a good workout. Maybe look into some of them, or see if your local library has workout videos. etc. Good luck ! -
how do others treat you??
pink dahlia replied to tamirn's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
My hubby and I met 26 yrs ago, I was 125 lbs. When I had lap band 19 months ago I was 225 lbs, he wasn't happy but never said anything. We have ALWAYS been very supportive of each other. Now im 65 lbs lighter and he's still very supportive but is MUCH happier with how I look AND feel. I looked, dressed( size 18 old lady frumpy clothes) and felt older than I was ( Im 55 years young),now I look younger than 55, I run ,I swim, I dress in cute clothes (size 10-8 !!!) I want to travel and go places and DO things that I had no energy for before ! Yes, people treat me better. Hardly a day goes by that I don't get a compliment on how I look, or an admiring look or funny flirting from a man. I'll take it ! Ive worked hard to get to this point, so I appreciate it that someone thinks I look attractive. But I don't forget that others, large and small deserve to be treated nicely too !! "THERE BEFORE THE GRACE OF GOD GO I !" Im VERY grateful that the Lap band was available for me ! -

Banding abbreviations...
pink dahlia replied to Iwilldothis2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats on being banded ! Yes, Onederland means 199 or below, ( Like the old Toyota truck commercial says " Oh what a feeling !!!!! " ), WSL means weight loss surgery, NSV means a Non Scale Victory, (like your pants getting looser but it doesn't show up on the scale) etc.............. Anyone else have some ? -
I was stuck at 169 for MONTHS, Dr. at last appt a few weeks ago told me I was eating too much, so he suggested about 1200 cals a day, up my exercise from 3-4 x a week to 5-6 x a week , and track my info on Fitnesspal.com. Did all that , im down to 160 !!! Woohoo !!!
