  2. Great ideas ! I can't tolerate chicken breast, I get stuck everytime, but I love chicken thighs and wings. Also, turkey jerky ( Costco), Peanut Butter on Wheat Thins, homemade breakfast oatmeal cookies, nuts, any thin fish like tuna, salmon, fresh, or mixed with mayo on crackers or celery. Steak or hamburger meat, mixed with salad greens, homemade chili, nuts, homemade spaghetti sauce. Try googling Myfridgefood.com , you put in whatever you have in the fridge and it gives you recipes !!
  3. Congratulations ! The smartest thing I did before WLS was to join the YMCA and take a 3x a week swim class, and also started walking on our local trails.. It got me in better shape for surgery and helped with weight loss afterwards. Best of luck !!!

    Im no Psychiatrist, but you might want to go back and ask yourself WHY you both cheated ( Im not judging). If the same situation exist now , that caused you BOTH to cheat could your hubby see that the whole situation is repeating itself ? Kinda like watching a train wreck happening and knowing you cant do anything to stop it ? I definitely would have BOTH of you see a good marriage counselor who specializes in WLS. Just a thought, cause I don't see this situation resolving itself. I think you BOTH owe it to yourselves and your marriage. My best to both of you.
  5. We're empty nesters, ( yay !) so he and I choose our own breakfasts, but always have healthy leftovers for lunch.. Each of us adds in whatever fruit or vegetables we want. Dinner is fairly healthy, a protein, a veggie or salad and a side. He's diabetic so we lean our food choices towards that end, but it works well for both of us. No separate meals needed !
  6. Wow . I am beyond shocked about all these rude comments ! I never had any but if I had I think my standard reply would have been " Yes, I struggle with my weight, but at least I don't struggle with being stupid or a rude a $$ hole !!!!!!!!"

    Your dream outfit

    Im really happy with my daily outfit of skinny jeans or jeans with a slight flare, a long sleeve T, a cute vest or fitted cardigan sweater, a long scarf (I have about 30 !) silver hoop earrings, a snazzy bracelet, and to top it all off, a cool pair of flat boots and sometimes a cute knitted hat . This all shows off my figure in the right way !

  11. When I was a skinny kid growing up, my grandparents , who lived next door, would have us 4 grandkids over for Saturday morning pancakes . My Swedish grandpa would make real Swedish pancakes and Nana would make a bowl of 1 part butter, 1 part peanut butter, and 1part syrup. We'd put that on the pancakes and then add syrup on top !     Walking shoes? Help

    I love my Skechers, I work on cement floors so comfy well built shoes are a must for work and walking. I wear them with a good heel guard. They cost btwn $55 and $70 , not sure if theres a selection of wide sizes. Love them !!!

    Craving chocolate and sugar

    Sigh............. chocolate is my drug of choice, I can't seem to get off of it. I 'm very good about avoiding other unhealthy foods, but chocolate and I have a daily meeting. Any type or flavor, I pretty much like it. ( except dark chocolate, it gives me digestive problems ) I finally gave up fighting it and just have some . I figure there could be worse things to be addicted to.

    Well, if you're going to be the "hostess with the mostest " I guess you have to cater to everyone else ! But the nice thing is its only ONE meal, not 10. So I guess I would just enjoy it and not kick yourself for a little bit of overindulgence. Better to do it once and get back on track the next day ! You can do it !! I have faith in you !!!!     LAP-BAND Friendly Food for the Holiday's

    I don't do the cooking, we go to relatives ( all good cooks), so I just eat a little of whatevers there and have a little dessert and call it good. My Dr. Said to eat healthy 95 % of the time and not worry about it 5 % of the time. I have a daily battle with sweets, the sweets always win, but Im not interested in other unhealthy foods for the most part ( chips, alcohol, fast food, etc ) so I dont feel bad about the sweets. I think you have to choose your battles wisely, and leave room for a few treats too. Good luck ! Happy Thanksgiving !

  17. I was slim all my life, ate whatever I wanted, stayed around a slim 125 lbs. Then late 20's my metabolism started slowing down, got married at 29 weighing a still comfy 143. After having my son 18 months later my metabolism just died. ( He's 26 now). So I gained 100 lbs over the years, tried Weight Watchers, lost 12 whole lbs, Ive been almost 3 yrs banded, now Im at a very happy 160 !

    Im not sure what you're getting at. Go ahead, rant and rave, let it out, cause thats what we're here for. Im just not sure what you're ranting about ! Are you upset because you're exposed to pics of good looking food , or because you think you can't have it ? I love anything food related, ads, cooking shows, cookbooks, grocery shopping, etc. But, I make my choices daily about what I really want ( something sweet), and ignore the things I don't want ( salty or fried ). I eat a fairly healthy diet (leaning towards diabetic friendly foods for my spouse) but include a sweet daily so I dont feel deprived. 3 yrs banded next month, I must be doing something right !     Pre opt Starting to get nervous

    Don't worry ! You have lots of support here !! My surgery was quick and easy, total time from arrival at hospital, surgery, and then home was about 5 hrs ! Very little pain for 2 days, just very sore on one side but back to work 1 week after WLS. All was fine after that. Just follow your Drs orders. Good luck ! Keep us posted !!!

    A couple of people I know are in very tight financial situation s. When I can I'll get them a grocery store gift card. Also, throughout the year I donate to our local food bank, and at Christmas we do the Marines Corps "Toys for Tots."

    WLS is an interest?!

    Eeeeeeeeekk ! Where do I even start ? 2 adults who have nothing in common does not a relationship make, daughter or not. You and your fiance seem to have an extremely unstable foundation now, I cant even begin to tell you what your marriage will be like. Your daughter will benefit better with 2 loving parents that live apart than 2 parents who are constantly at war with each other. Stability, stability, stability. Just sayin'. Also, video games and WLS are not both under "hobbies", one is for entertainment, the other for living with a healthy mind, body and soul. I think you already know what you should do. I wish you well.
  22. I literally never heard a negative comment from anyone, but if I had I would of told them " My Dr. and I feel WLS is the best choice to get my body healthy, strong and closer to a good weight. Thanks for your support ! " Its your journey, not theirs, so don't worry about other people opinions. I am so happy with my results, my only regret is I did'nt do it soone! Best of luck to you !

    Feeling defeated

    It took me 4 fills to get to the green zone, but I lost weight steadily from the beginning. I just followed my Dr.s rules of protien 1st, fruits and vegetables 2nd, carbs last. Limit your sweets, exercise minimum 3x a week, lots of water, no soda or fast food. Thats it, and it worked ! I averaged about loss of 1 lb a week, I was0 Try putting your food and exercises into MFP ( My Fitness Pal), you may be eating more calories than you think ! If you're still not losing in a month, go see your Dr. for help ! Good luck !

    I Have No Motivation That Pushes Me

    If all you want is to watch TV, then use the TV as your motivation !! For every 3 minutes of walking you do, "reward yourself " with 10 minutes of TV, etc . Work you way up to 4 mins , then 5 , etc. Start SLOW, start SMALL, but start SOMEWHERE !! You can do it !!!♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
  25. It shouldn't be called "the easy way out", it should be called "the last resort, end of the road, I've tried everything else and got nowhere but frustrated and disappointed again !!! Easy way out, my ass !!!
