I didn't get much sleep in the hospital so I slept for several hours after I got home. I also haven't had much trouble sleeping on my side or stomach, less than a week since surgery. I guess everyone is different.

I was banded 3/8 and am on a liquid diet - mostly slim fast shakes and SF Jello. How much weight do most people lose in the 6 weeks prior to 1st fill? I've only had about 600 calories a day since the day after surgery but I assume I will start to eat a little more as time goes by. Can anyone help me with an idea of what it was like for them, eating and losing, in the first weeks after surgery?

A friend of mine had gas pain so bad that he went to his primary care physician and was given a shot of some sort that relieved the pain completely.

I'm 3 days post op and in the same D situation as you all. I had no idea this would happen either!

I was banded on 3/8 also. I have been lucky and haven't had any gas pains. I haven't had much trouble drinking and wonder if this is normal. How do you know when you have had too much? What does the discomfort feel like?

I was banded 4 days ago. I asked my surgeon why he required a 'bowel cleansing' before surgery and he said it is b/c the bowel sits on the stomache. During surgery, they want the bowel empty so it isn't hard to move and work around.

My surgery is in less than a week, I've been (starving :phanvan ) on the liquid diet for 7 days now, and I'm getting a little nervous. What are the first days like after surgery? Is there a lot of pain? Is it hard to get around? Is it easier on the liquid diet after surgery than it is before surgery?

Today is day 1 of my 14 day pre-surgery Protein shake diet. I feel excited about my upcoming surgery - about the changes in my life. I'm just scared about how hungry I feel now and wondering how I'll make it anothother 13 days, not to mention after surgery. Anyone out there have to drink Protein shakes exclusively before surgery and any words of wisdom?

I'm getting very anxious to have the surgery date set. The doctor's office is moving very slowly and I'm trying to move people along. Most of my clothes don't fit at this point and the new stretch marks on my stomach are bothering me because they are itchy. I'm nervous that I won't be able to stick to the 2-week liquid diet but also realizing that I need to get control over my eating. I'm also nervous that I will overeat even with my band.:faint:
