    January Surgery Bandsters Group

Hello ladies! In one week, I will have a fill! I find myself counting down to it, just like I was counting down to surgery! Did I mention I can eat like I did before too?! AAAAGH! I did have a fabulous NSV today, though...was finally able to buy some Alex and Ani bracelets, as they no longer look ridiculous on my fat (no longer as fat) wrists! I got one for each 5 lbs I lost...which came out to 4 bracelets...and I'll be due for a new one soon!!

    January Surgery Bandsters Group

Today I truly experienced bandster hell. I tracked my calories, but not until the end of the day. Big mistake. 1600 calories later and I'm freaking out. I have been so hungry. At first I was doing great 800-1000 calories a day. The past few days I feel out of control and like my old self! I have zero restriction and I'm starving!!!!

    January Surgery Bandsters Group

I haven't had a fill yet, march 13 and I'm nervous that they won't give me a fill bc I've lost a good amnt of weight, but I do get hungry about 1 hr to 2 hrs after eating a cup of food, so hoping that's a deciding factor. If they decide I don't need one, it will be ok, because I def don't wanna be too tight...that's my biggest fear!

    What Is With The "gurgles"?

After being banded, I'd say the first week was the worst for stomach gurgles and burping! The burping hurt! Gas x helped a lot. I'm four wks post op tomorrow and the burping is a daily occurence. Esp after eating. I take it as my cue to stop eating. It happens around 1 cup of food, not every single time, but enough to make me notice that it doesn't seem to be a coincidence. I'm thinking if changing careers to be a professional burper? LOL my fiance says I can enter a contest now!

    Thinking About It...

The only thing I would caution you about is bandster hell--the period of time between surgery and the amount of fills it takes to get you to restriction. At this time, its all about portion control, healthy choices, and walking away even when you don't have that full feeling, or should I say over full feeling, that we are all used to. This is where I am at now. I have not had a fill, had surgery Jan 30th. I do not get any full signals from the band, but I also don't push it. I am too scared to try! I eat my portion, and that's it! I do find hat he more I heal, the faster I get hungry between meals. But hopefully a fill takes care of that. As far as not being on a schedule, not counting calories, I can't guarantee that won't ever be necessary. The weeks leading up to surgery and the first month after is a lot of work. Planning, eating and drinking at certain times, etc. Maybe it won't bother you bc it wont be forever. But make sure you know exactly what to expect...this forum will definitely help you!

Port In Wrong Place For Me

Good topic. Mine is on the left, slightly below my ribs. It does bother me if I bend at the waist, maybe because I'm short, 5'3. I think once I'm skinny it probably won't bother me as much, plus I'm only a few weeks post op and still not able to even sleep on my left side. But I was quite annoyed the first time I bent over and realized "Porticia" was having a tantrum!

    15 Days Post-Op Plateaued Weight

I was frustrated for a while because I actually gained weight when I went from liquids to mushies, and stayed the same when I went from mushies to soft foods. I added exercised, and count my calories. I always eat protein first, and while I'm not full, I'm satisfied for a while. Finally, everything is falling into place. Had my surgery on Jan 30, no pre op diet, and have lost 21 lbs. I will happen for you too, and I can't wait for a fill, but unfortunatlely, this is where our will power has to come in!

Anyone Get Stuck At Setup For Fitbit With A Mac?

Thanks for your reply!!! I'm usually pretty good with technical things, but I was really starting to doubt myself! Since it was my first day with it, I had Jo idea what the heck was wrong! I did get to the point where it asks for the numbers...multiple times..10...15 times...lol I lost count I was so frustrated! I will try again tomorrow! Sorry to hear all your numbers were reset, that stinks

  21. i almost felt like that with tuna on triscuit yesterday. felt like it was going down kinda...slow?...a moment of panic, spit out the food that i did have in my mouth, which i had been swallowing in small amounts, but i didn't want to add insult to injury. i suddenly had no urge to swallow anything else, and the best way to describe this feeling was tightness in the middle of my sternum. kind of a choking feeling, i agree. it passed in literally seconds, maybe a minute...i wonder if that was "almost stuck" LOL I am 3 wks post op, btw
  22. My FitBit is here, and I'm so excited! I used it today, but still learning! Anyone who wants a friend, here is my user info: http://www.fitbit.com/user/22KWYH
