And THANK YOU for all your wonderful suggestions for liquid diet, I think I will do the preop diet at least a week ahead, if nothing else it will get me into the mind set for eating less! My final consult is on the 20th of Dec, so with Christmas and new years, I doubt ill be banded this year, but in January, ill be making a resolution I can actually keep!

Hi, Do you know what your bmi is? Most insurance companies and most surgeons probably will not consider you if your bmi is low.

Thanks everyone for your replies, I am definitely going to try to change my habits somewhat in preparation for the liquids...if I were to wake up from surgery and be told they were unable to place the band, I'd have a fit!

Just got my letter with tests set up, final consult for surgery date is Dec 20th, so looks like I may just end up as a Jan bandster :-/

HI! Welcome to the boards...I'm new too

New to the forum, but just figured I would post my wait time for BCBS of Rhode Island. It took about a month to hear back from them once my paperwork was submitted, but this past Friday, I got a call from the sleep study center my surgeons office uses. Apparently the surgeons office sent over the referral for my sleep study. After a call to the surgeon, they did confirm that I had been approved and would be getting my official letter with remaining requirements....YAY! I wonder how many more hoops I have to jump through!

Ooh! Thanks! Wonder how many individual appts that will be. I wish I could just get it all done in one day! Good think is I recently had a physical and my doctor was excited about the surgery, so that won't be a problem!

I haven't had surgery, but I intend to have coffee for the rest of my life. Otherwise, I will not be a pleasant person!

For me, its been more spread out. Seminar was July 13th...first nutrition appt was made for the next day. So far I've had my 3 nutrition appts, psych eval, physical, and have my sleep study next week. I just heard from my surgeons office on Friday that BCBS of RI approved my surgery. Not sure how many more tests I have until I get a surgery date...so excited just to be approved!
