Not Drinking All Of My Shakes

If you hate the Protein you're using, or even can't bear the smell of it, YOURE USING THE WRONG STUFF! There are plenty of products out there that are high quality protein and taste good too. My absolute favorite is Isopure zero, in chocolate flavor. I make a shake with that, add a little more cocoa powder, and a dash of splenda, and it tastes amazing. Like chocolate milk! Isopure also makes banana cream flavor that is good. If you need a new flavor, add a few teaspoons of sugar free pudding mix or Jello mix. That is how they get all those crazy flavors at herbalife shake places. Extracts are also a good way to add flavor without adding calories or sugar. Las but no least, if it is the texture that is bothering you, check out some ready to drink protein "juices". They come in flavors like fruit punch, and are clear, not milky, so its definitely nice for a change.
  4. WOW!! one more reason to hate my period. lol.

Just Got Approved For Lap Band Surgery!!! Bcbs

Congrats!! BCBS of RI took a month to approve me. Do you have a surgery date yet??
  6. Tried posting this to your blog entry, week 2 blues, but it didn't work: Keep up the great work, you body has done a lot to repair itself and get its bearings back, you could be retaining water too, since you're drinking so much! Any weight loss is good weight loss, and if you can feel a tummy rumble and still say NO, think of how FAR you have come! Maybe you're not moving along as fast as you would like physically, but mentally, it sounds like you're in the right plac...

    Banded This Morning

Congrats! Your surgery was shorter than some of my preop appointments LOL
  8. Congrats! Are you self pay or going through insurance?
  9. I have not been banded yet, but I can offer some advice on the skinny hubby aspect...LOL. My hubby is perfectly normal weight, eats what he wants, manual labor all day and doesn't gain an ounce. Annoying, I agree. The new outlook we have taken is, with the amount I will be able to eat, I will probably be able to prepare one serving of a certain food, and all I have to do is mooch a few bites off of him! I'm excited to eat less, and weigh less than him, for the first time in probably 6 years! My nutritionist did tell me I would be eating roughly 3-6 meals, depending on size and hunger. She didn't really tell me, here is the number of meals I want you to eat, but rather, listen to my body, and learn to realize hunger and fullness. I think that is the secret. She told me hunger=that growling feeling in your stomach. Chances are, if your stomach isn't growling, you're not really hungry. And you're only supposed to eat enough to satisfy the hunger, ie, stop the growling. Of course, if we could all eat this way, we wouldn't be here, but the band is the tool that will allow us to think that way.

    Failed My Sleep Study!!!!

Im not sure, how do you get by with such a small amount of sleep??? I would be dead! I love to sleep, which is why I don't understand why I couldn't sleep at the study. Like I said, I checked with the sleep center and i am allowed to take a sleep aid, so i will be doing so! I already did a trial run by taking two tylenol pm and within 30 mins, I was barely able to keep my eyes open! I feel better about going to my study now, but I hope I don't end up with apnea, because then I have to go back AGAIN!!!

    Failed My Sleep Study!!!!

I honestly can sleep just ablout anywhere. I thought i would have no problem with the study. However, I usually go to bed at around 12:30. The night of the study, i was hooked up, and lights were out by about 10:30. I had no time after being hooked up to relax. I tried going to sleep, and started getting worried. What if i cant aleep, I'm gonna fail, I am going to have to do this again, I hate this, singing songs in my head, saying prayers, saying the alphabet, counting up to 60, backwards from 60....worst night ever. When I talked to the sleep center today, I had to make two more appts...one for the next sleep study, and one if needed, if I end up with a sleep apnea diagnosis. Looks like they wont do it all in one shot :-/

    Failed My Sleep Study!!!!

THEN, if I have sleep apnea, I have to go back AGAIN for another study with a mask. I have gone through so much testing, poking, and prodding, but I have seriously considered calling off the whole thing, this is how much I HATED the sleep study. I was so happy it was over! Waaaaah
  13. Just found out my sleep study results were inconclusive...duh! I didn't sleep!!! Have to do ANOTHER SLEEP STUDY! This time, I'm taking some Tylenol PM for SURE!!!

  14. HayFarmer, on a side note, my horses love hay! LOL. do you grow your own?
  15. The guy doing the study is really nice, and had me watch and informational video, and try on a cpap mask, although he told me I won't be wearing one, becauae he knows that anyone that comes in because they're getting wls, its basically just a formality, and something I have to do just because. I just wanna get it over with! I'm not hooked up with any electrodes yet, just chilling watching tv YES I am one of those people who bring their own pillow and blanket...lol.

At My Sleep Study As We Speak!

Worst night ever!!!!!! I slept like two hours....I hope they collected enough sleep data because there is NO WAY I wanna do that again!!!!
  17. Im not ordered a liquid diet, except liquids the day before surgery..:but i akso havent had my ultrasound yet so I wonder if that may have something to do wit it, maybe they cant detect the fatty liver then?? I'm at my sleep study right now :-/
  18. So, I was scheduled by my Dr office for all my appts, one of which was a stress test this morning at 10. I didn't know what to expect but the letter from my Dr office said I should wear loose, comfy clothing. So I figured the treadmill was in my future. Wrong. The hospital staff even had to call my Dr office to clarify, because there was not a chance that I was going there to do the wrong test. No way. Turns out, all I had to do what an ultra sound of my heart...so for those that have a "stress test" coming up, it may be a good idea to find out just what that entails! As a matter of fact, I do not believe what I had today could even be classified as a stress test, I have no idea... Did anyone here actually do the treadmill?
  19. Blue cross took 32 days to approve me. I think sometimes they take their sweet time with it!
  20. hey matt! today is the first day of the rest of your life! let me know how surgery went, i waa just at the hospital yesterday for my echocardiogram...no surgery date yet!

  21. Looks like theres a huge variety of tests that different doctors do, they clearly have very different preferences from doctor to doctor
  22. As far as I know, my Dr is not requiring me to do the dreaded 2 week pre op liquid diet...only instructions I have been given so far is to drink clear liquids the day before surgery...has anyone here decided to do the liquid diet even though you weren't required to? What are the benefits? More importantly, what the heck did you drink for two weeks, and how did you not kill someone? Lol!!
  23. Thanks Xavier! Sounds like you were able to stick to the plan!
  24. Loretta, I have BCBS of Rhode Island, and I was approved with the first submission...if did take a while though, 32 days to be exact!
  25. It sounds like you are doing a really good job at managing your weight now! Just because your family is overweight, you are not destined the same fate...after all, my whole family is skinny, and I'm not!
