    I Hope This Helps.....

)))) thanks for remembering us on this side!
  2. Sorrrrry for the typos! Lol.
  3. Wow!!!! This guy sounds like a real jerk. I have been going through this process since July, and honestly it hasn't felt THAT long. 6 months is a drop in the bucket compares to having to deal with this guy for the rest of your life. I say, take the chance! No to mention, if you don't like your Dr or get a bad feeling from going there, you are much less likely to go if something is wrong or you need an adjustment. At my Dr office, they said there are some ppl that just get the bad and never come back, for ehatever reason, and those are the ppl that end up overweight again.
  4. I'll say a little prayer for you, let us know how it goes!

    Pre Lap Band Surgery Testing?

I have been put through the ringer. Just take a look at my signature, so many tests! If there was any question about my health, there iant now! I'm actually healthy as a horse (ha)...but I know at the weight I am now, it was only a matter of time before my health headed south. I'm probably just still healthy cause I'm 24...25 in a few days. My last hurdle us a sleep study. While I have done two, i never slept at either one. My Dr. says, no conclusive sleep study, no surgery. So I shall push forward. I have an appt with one of the ppl at the sleep center tomorrow, don't really even know why, but they said maybe he can help me. I get there and startvstressing out, because I know this is the last piece to my puzzle...and just like that, I torture myself all night and go home crying. My appt with my Dr to schedule sugery is dec 20, and I'm hoping all my sleep stuff is done by then. If anything, you should really find out if you have sleep apnea, the anesthesiologist needs to know that for your breathing during surgery.

    107 Protein Shake Receipies

Just took a look at some of the recipes, the ones I saw had some high fat ingredients like heavy cream and ice cream, but the general idea is good if you omit those...thanks again!

    Nsv For Exercising

Awesome! That sounds like the view will be amazing! I was really into running a few years ago, even ran a 5k, was running a few times a week and getting faster. I really enjoyed it, but like everything else, didn't see results because of m eating habits. Also, I had shin splints, which suck. I look forward to possibly getting back into running once I'm thinner, it will be much easier once I have about 100lbs less to carry around!

Denied by BCBSI for Lap Band Surgery And Devastated!

Does your potential surgeon have a team of people you could work with? My surgeon has a team of people, like nutritionist, that I met with 3 times once a month, to satisfy my BCBSRI requirements. All my appts were made by my surgeons office, all within the network of people they work with--nutritionist, psychologist, etc. I think if you can ask your surgeons office to refer you to the people they usually work with, you may be better off. They probably know better than anyone exactly what needs to be provided to insurance, and how it should be presented. Good luck!
  10. My PCP gave me some Ambien for my next sleep study (already assuming there will be another one). Trying one tonight to test it out!

  11. Greetings from RI, glad to hear the meeting with your surgeon went well!

    Failed My Sleep Study!!!!

I'm anxiously awaiting my results. I slept maybe 2 hours, the sleep tech did say I slept here and there, so hopefully it satisfies my Dr, because I spoke to the nurse practitioner today, and she told me, no conclusive sleep study, NO SURGERY! waaaaaaaah!!!!!! Part of my problem is that I go to bed around 1:30-2:00 every morning, and wake up at 8. At the sleep study, last night they tried to have me go to bed at NINE THIRTY. There was no way. The tech did allow me to keep the TV on, not sure if that helped me or hurt me. Also, I had a really bad headache during the day and had to take excedrin, the only thing that makes my headaches go away. But it contains caffeine. Oops. My plan for next time, cause I'm almost sure theres gonna be a next time...its scheduled for the 14 of December, which is a Friday. I'm planning on pulling an all nighter on Thursday, going to work Friday, and being pooped on Friday night. Hopefully it works.
  13. Isn't it funny how people are so fast to say you're too skinny, to your face. But when you're heavy, it was said/thought behind your back? Can't wait to be on the skinny side

    Failed My Sleep Study!!!!

SO yet again, I didn't sleep. Took anxiety meds during the day bc I was so stressed, and took two sleeping pills at around 9:00. Was in bed by 10, and the last time I remember looking at the clock, it was 12:45. I kept waking up and closing my eyes, begging myself to go to sleep, but I just couldn't! I was up again around 4. I have NO problems sleeping at home. If I have to do another sleep study, I don't know what I will do.
  15. Worst day ever. Didn't sleep much again at my second sleep study. Dr office says completion of a sleep study is mandatory before surgery. How will I ever do it? Had to come home from work because I'm so strung out about this :((((

  16. On my way to my second sleep study. hope i dont have apnea or i have to go again. i hate these things!

  17. My approval was submitted after my nutritionist appts (3) and my passing the psych test (guess I'm not crazy after all!) It took 32 days for my approval to come back from bcbs of RI. That's when the real "fun" began. Tests coming from every direction, sometimes two in one week. I failed my first sleep study, didn't sleep a wink, so off to sleep study number two tonight...rumor has it that if I do show apnea, I will be off to sleep study number THREE to do it with a cpap. I find the sleep study to me the least desireable of tests, but I want to have it all done by the time I meet with my surgeon on the 20th to talk about scheduling surgery.
  18. My second sleep study is tonight. I hace the advantage of being able to take some sleep aid, but I am still so nervous about failing for a second time. :(

  19. My Dr (pcp) is putting me through the ringer with testing righ t now, blood tests for hormone levels, ultrasound of pelvis, because I have had my period for 1.5 months. Hell. Waiting on blood tests, but the ultrasound came out normal, which is good. She was originally thinking pcos, but I don't know if that would show on ultrasound. The guy that did the ultrasound said everything looks normal, and thatvits probably hormones . I think my body is just begging me to lose some weight!

Not Drinking All Of My Shakes

That sounds awesome! I'm stocking up on protein in preparation for my surgery, I will be ordering the cake batter!!
  21. Can anyone say last hoorah? Lol. I kormally wouldn't condone gaining to get the surgery, but you are so close. I have heard some crazy stories about people wearing ankle weight etc to first weigh ins
  22. When I went to my first seminar, they were booking appts for the nutritionist on the spot, so I went the next day. that was when I was weighed for the first time. Embarassing but I've grown very used to being poked prodded and weighed. Lol.
  23. Hmmm. Not as short as I planned, but full of errors LOL!
  24. Hi there! Let me first start out by saying you are gorgeous. There, now thats out of the way.I'm gonna make this short and sweet cause I'm typing to you from a phone that likes to over auto correct me and typing a lot takes too long. Insurance approval is based on you bmi, and whether you have obesity related conditions, termed co-morbidities...whci you do have, high bp, pre diabetic etc. You need to figure out your bmi, and then find out from there if you qualify. Given the time of day, you probably won't be reaching an insurance co now, but I was able to find that info on my insurance co website, and the people that work at the Dr office typically know that info off the top of their head. Secondly, once you figure out if you le insurance covers the surgery, you need to find out whatbyou need to do as far as pre-approval steps. Sometimes the insurance co wants yu to go on a supervised diet for a certain amnt of time, yadda yadda. The lady at the dr office should know that as well. Thirdly and perhaps most importantly, you have to be ready to go to a LOT of appts. Take a look at my signature, its a LOT of appts. But the good thing is, everything gets checked out, the tests are easy for the most prt, except for the dreaded sleep stdy...and you end up finding out just how healthy, or unhealthy you are. Don't get scared. Just make one appt after another into you're done. There is a light synthesis end of the tunnel. If you need help, or have more questions, don't hesitate to ask. I'm no expert, not even banded yet, but I will do my best to help you. I know what is like to be the girl with the "pretty face"....now its time for us to have smokin bods too!
