About Me

I began the ADA diet-with my PCP Oct. 2011 and have gone monthly through March now. I also went through the Metabolic Center; paid a $150 fee in which they also have given me 3 nutritional classes; and have been pretty careful to go over all details thru pre-surgical diet. I was told my primary insurance does not require 7 months pre nutritional consultation;but may not pay fills. My secondary requires different information thus i have gone to both the metabolic center 3 months-as well as-my PCP 6; will be 7 months April. My secondary said they will pay (if) my primary does. I called my primary and they do not pre-authorize Lapband. Wow; stress level is up there. It would sure make it easier-if-they could pre authorize after trying to meet all the mandates on paper for them! OKAY SO i had a check list from the center in which i have followed and todate:  I have gotten the PCP letter;Sleep apnea new 5year re peat  for me-split study; PSY appointment with a evaluation appointment (it was tough and critical) i was not sure what this person would write-but said: a very supportive clearance for LAPBAND; saw a Physical therapist started pre op stretches/with a band to address neck and posture issues. Was excellent! I had a recent EKG and full cardio workup. Had some artifacts of unknown origin showing up but no comment was made nor given me; they did up my Diovan from 40 mg to 320 mg. I felt alot better. WOW that was horrible to know I needed it. I had not been to the cardio doc in 2 years and had tons of stress all year. OKAY as for INSURANCE! I sure wish that was KNOWN and a stand alone and not a case by case basis! There seems to be (alot of that going on) as i have read on the net. FOR me- As I know it Medicare is to pay primary and Tri care to pick up extra out of pocket (LORD WILLING) as Medicare does not pre approve I am in the dark. But I trust the Center Of Excellence; I am going too. They are SUPER informed-listen-and double check anything you share. I REALLY like knowing the 3 main support persons have also been through this-and-that speaks volumes.  Also- I began a low carb no more than 48 carbs  per day-Dec. 26th. Its been hard. I have had off days x2 with the holidays. So add-that- I am not a big meat lover. I have been adding Beyond Organic Raw meal replacement in lieu of lots of meat and it seems to agree with me though it tastes odd/no real taste.. unless you use coconut or almond milk half and half with water and one scoop of the raw-powder instead of 2; then its good!  I am today Down on weight to 238.9. Thats 8 pounds;liver shrinking diet... but i can fluctuate a good 3 pounds daily.  NOW: I am set to see the surgeon March 7th now 2012! I am SUPER nervous. SUPER Excited too!   Anyone in Dothan Alabama?
