01/09/2013 (the day before surgery)

I am a band to sleeve revision patient. Originally had my band place in 02/2008 and lost 94 lbs with it. Was diagnosed with erosion in 11/2012 and had it removed on 03/29/2012. Had to wait six months to heal from the surgery from having it removed then jump through the insurance hoops. BCBS-AL wanted to require me to complete the six month supervised weight loss program but I wrote my own appeal letter explaining why I shouldn't have to do that after having a lap band for four years and they approved me right away.

My surgery date is January 10th (tomorrow). Like everyone else, I'm nervous and excited all at once. More ready to get this show on the road after gaining back most of the weight I had lost with the band. I know what it feels like to be thin and energetic and I want to feel that again.

My primary concern is the amount of scar tissue left behind after having my band removed. I've had several laparoscopic surgeries so I pretty much know what to expect as far as pain and other side effects.
