I am not sure about this, but check Unjury. It is very good tasting and they make a clear version as well as a chicken soup version.I just looked at their ingredients lists on the website and it looks like there is no fish oil in their products.

Heart Attack Grill - 6000 Calorie Burger!
Banterwonder replied to B-52's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
In New York now, many chain restaurants must post the calorie counts. It is eye- opening when you ate standing at the Dunkin Donuts counter and you see the calories !!!!! -
Hi! New Here And I Have A Question.
Banterwonder replied to anewme0912's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had to show documentation from my PCP that I had tried for 6 months to lose weight. Not hard to do. -

Pre Op Diet/new To The Group And My Lap Band Surgery Date Is Feb 24 2012
Banterwonder replied to sophiamckenna's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My surgery is the 27th. I am on day 2 of the pre-op liquid diet. This is to shrink my liver which hopefully will make it easier for my surgeon to get to my stomach. I planned out my whole week on the diet. I also made a list of things to do to distract me. I got out my crochet hooks and projects.I pre-cooked and froze family meals for this week . I have all my water bottles filled and waiting in the fridge. I have a bunch of cleaning projects to keep me occupied. Also washing and car appointments. It is easier on my work days. I am now cleaning out my closets and preparing clothing to donate. It is a very cathartic experience! -
Started pre op liquid diet today. The protein shakes are ok. I can have 2 mixed with skim milk, the other 2-3, mixed with water. Having some chicken bouillon now. Keeping busy helps a lot!!!!! Am sometimes feeling anxious, but it passes. I am scheduled for next Monday! Yippee!

The Infamous Pre-Op Diet..
Banterwonder replied to newme2012's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I , too , start my pre- op diet on February 20th. My surgeon's orders are as follows: 4-5 shakes per day 32-64 ounces of water per day( the more, the better!) 700-900 calories per day I have worked out the plan so that sometimes I will mix the shake with water, and sometimes with fat free milk. I have one of those shaker bottles with the stainless steel whisk ball in it. They are great and really makes a frothy shake. Good for work. I anticipate that I may be cranky. I have planned some reading, crocheting, bath tub time, sleeping, computer work, and cleaning. Also am doing bulk cooking for family dinners so that I won't have to be in the kitchen when I can't eat!!!!! -
Support Groups- Do They Sometimes Deteriorate?
Banterwonder posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
What I mean is, is there usually a moderator or leader who keeps members on track? I tend to become cranky when groups go way off topic or treat the support group as their own private soapbox. -
Do You Tell People When They Compliment You?
Banterwonder replied to kr8160311's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I would say thank you and leave it at that. I think too many people think they have the right to pry into your business. Weight is a very personal topic. I have told only husband and adult children. If I were to tell anyone else, the world would know and those people have no need to know my personal life. -
Irritation of the phrenic nerve usually causes pain in the right shoulder. Maybe it's something else?

Getting banded end of February. Attended pre op class which was excellent. Had pre op blood work , EKG, CXR, interviews with nurse. Will get medical clearance from PCP.Next week start " liver shrinking very low calorie diet". Then one day of clear fluids, nothing after midnight and onto band land!!! Getting very excited and looking forward to many changes!!!! Started the process in mid October, so I think this is pretty smooth!

Nyc Lap Band - Dr. Shawn Garber?
Banterwonder replied to Banterwonder's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Just wanted to update. Now have surgery date and pre-op test date. On day of pre-op tests, I will also attend a class about what to expect. Very excited, but getting a teeny bit nervous as well. -
Love Sabra hummus!!! Smoothest, best tasting hummus ever! And this recipe sounds great. Thank you!
-
My surgeon has me staying overnight. They have a bariatric surgery unit, so I am comfortable with that.

For those already banded, could you give me an idea of your weight loss? Weekly? I know there are many variables, I just want an idea of what to expect. Thank you.

The correct way to state this is " muscle is heavier by volume, than fat". My older cousins used to play that joke on me... " what is heavier? A pound of feathers or a pound of golf balls?"
-
My surgery scheduled for a Monday, so taking a weeks vacation,( some people think I am going on a spa vacation to Indonesia?!)Hope to be back to work on Monday. My planning involves buying lots of self tanner... Hehehe, in addition to the required post op food stuffs, of course.

The band is outside of the stomach, so it is impossible for anything that goes in your mouth to "stick" to the band. You may be able to eat peanut butter at some point in your journey. The web site for one manufacturer lists any nut butters as "sticky", (duh!), and therefore could be a problem food.

Waiting On Cigna's Approval
Banterwonder replied to Msmadamblue's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have Cigna and my doctor's office took care of getting the approval. In fact, they discouraged patients , in general, from calling the insurance company themselves. Said it would only delay the process. After I sent the Cigna required proof of 6 month supervised weight loss, It took about 2 weeks to get approval. My doctor' s office called me with the good news and I did the happy dance!!!!!Getting banded late February!!!! -
A pound of muscle weighs the same as a pound of fat. As does a pound of feathers, a pound of lead or a pound of popped corn.

Who Have You Told You Were Banded?
Banterwonder replied to nancyginnm's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have told only my husband, no one else. I have not told anyone at work, and will not tell them. I am taking vacation, so no eyebrows will be raised. If anyone asks as I am losing weight, I will say that I am seeing a nutritionist and a personal trainer. Not a lie. -
