<p>Here's my story. I am 34yrs old soon to be 35 I have a 13yr old daughter. The first 2 months after I had her I gained over 80lbs, I had not been over eating and had gone to a few doctors several times, just to have them say it was me causing it by over eating, they told me things like you don't have to eat for 2 anymore and I should learn to push myself away from the table. I believe that from that moment on is when my weight gain really took off as I emotionally gave up on my weight.&nbsp;&nbsp;Before I had my daughter I was at about 160lbs I had only gained around 13lbs during pregnancy. I was then around 240lbs.<br />
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;When she was 3yrs old we tried to have a second child. Eight years had gone by and many doctors and specialists later I was always told it was my weight.&nbsp;&nbsp;About 3years ago I was diagnosed with PCOS for those that don't know in a nut shell its cysts in my ovaries caused by hormone issues and this causing weight gain. All these years that went by undiagnosed and me not caring about my intake of food I have gained a love affair with food. I now weigh close to 300lbs.<br />
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;I have been to my local doctor to be sent for weight loss surgery that alberta health care covers but due to the long waiting list I have chosen to go and get it done on my own and submit it through mine and my husbands coverages and a portion of it through alberta health. I have chosen to go through the surgical weigh loss centre and have the Lap Band done, for the simple fact that it is a slower rate of weight loss and I want to prevent the sagging skin as much as possible. I will be getting the surgery done in Vancover, BC with Dr.Philip Michell. I was hoping to have it done Dec 16th but not sure that my papers that I have submitted to the insurance company's will be back in time. Once they are in then I will be booking the next available date he has open.</p>
