Even with a stall there is definitely a victory!!!

I was sleeved on the same day as you and I have only lost 62 pounds. You are not really that slow. I am ok with the rate I am losing becasue it allows me to adjust my mind to the weight loss and I feel that it is healthy for my body to go at this pace. As long as it is steady and continues, it is good. MK -
Surgery is Monday and I'm getting worried
Mary Kay replied to DebiC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a little discomfort for a few days, then was fine. No diarrhea, except for a few weeks after surgery when I had something with mayo before I was ready for it- too much fat. No other problems and certainly no chronic diarrhea. Post op was not bad at all and it was all worth it. I am off all meds for diabetes, high blood pressure and arthritis. Best decision I have ever made and could not have lost this weight without it. It is normal to be nervous before the surgery. Your research was done and you can trust it. MK -
Well... I found the right Forum! ;o)

Hi Mera, The protein is so important. Have you tried the protein shots that come in tubes, clear. I hear the flavor is strong, like Jello, but at least the volume is small to choke down. I was still eating very little at 2 months, but now at 6 months I can eat anything in small portions, except for high fat foods. MK -

Good luck!! Best decision I have ever made for my health. -
Dr. Yatco is in the same surgical group, also a very good surgeon, but much better with the bedside manner. I pays attention and listens. I never felt rushed. No complaints about Lennox Hill Hospital either. The care was very good.

Help - Looking for surgeon in NJ or Pennsylvania area
Mary Kay replied to mcast's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Dr. Ed Yatco at Manhattan Minimally Invasive Barriatric Surgery was great and does lots of sleeves, I had my surgery at Lennox Hill in Manhattan and have no complaints. I have a large piece of mesh in my upper abdomen from a prior surgery and he had to work around this and could not insert the instruments where he normall would. Also, he had to cut through lots of adhesions from the prior surgery. No complications, back at work in 3 weeks, slow steady weight loss and I am off all meds for diabetes, blood pressure and arthritis. I could not have asked for better care or a better result.
