I've struggled with my weight my whole life. After struggling to loose weight the last ten years and only seeing the numbers increase. I've decided that Lap band is an option worth taking. I am young only 30 years old and I've developed questionable hypertension and sore joints due to the weight. I also have pcos, and my husband and I want to start a family soon. It was our RE that suggested I look into lap band because nothing I was doing was working to give me lasting results. I don't want to have a sick baby or an unhealthy pregnancy due to the weight. I've seen two people so far that are close to me that have been banded, one was a family member and his journey did not go so well. A friend of my sisters recently had a band done about 4 years ago and she's doing great, she has lost about 50% of her former weight and she is planning on starting a family soon. I'm happy that the band worked for her and she inspired me to actively seek out what a band would and would not have to offer for me.
