About Me

  • Gender
    Female
I've struggled with weight all my life. i had tried wt loss medications, with some degree of success. When they took Xenadrine with ephedra off the market, and my insurance would no longer cover meridia I went looking for something else. Xenical did not help as I ate pretty healthy foods, low fat and fruits and veggies, I just overate, and as most of you on this know, when you are starving and you've already eaten a pound ov veggies, you need something else more satisfying. So I went looking for other options, and after much consideration I decided to try the lap band. i definately did not want gastric bypass, as I have seen the effects of complications first hand. During the last four years I have had som e successes but also some complications. I had to go to the ER two years ago d/t the band being too tight that I was throwing up coffee ground(that means old blood) bile. I had a barium swallow then to make sure everyhting was okay after deflating and it was. Now I have been diagnosed with a slippage confirmed by EGD (upper GI scope) and go back tomorrow to find out what we should do.
