    December sleevers!

I am 8 weeks out today and have lost 27 lbs. the weight is coming off slowly but consistently with only a short stall around the 3rd week. I love my sleeve. Tonight was the first time I ate out with friends. We went to Montana's, of all places. My husband got a very large doggy bag of food for his night snack...Lol. December Divas! We Rock!!
  2. Hi BarbieB, Getting back to your original question. I had surgery with Dr Garcia Dec 5. I went through Successfully Slimmer, Christi, which is part of Obesity Solutions. I had very little pain, even the gas was not to bad. Hospital Mi was clean, the nurses were caring and attentive, did not see much of the night nurse so I can't really comment on that. Dr Garcia's team is very skilled with excellent credentials, his anesthesiologist works at an other hospital in cardiology surgery. I was put up in the Hotel Pueblo Amigo, very nice Hotel with a casino. I asked for a room towards the back and on a higher floor so that the casino noise wouldn't be a problem. Their broth is really good. My insicions have healed nicely and I feel great. You will be in good hands.

    Sleeve Twins

soforreal we are twins, well triplets. Medicprincess is my sleeve sister.
  4. I was sleeved on Dec 5. I would have to agree with ChrisB83 that one of the hard parts is seeing or smelling foods that you can't have (my mother lives downstairs and is always cooking or baking). But, the 14 hours in airports and on planes the Friday I flew home from San Diego was the hardest part for me. Definitely the best part is the 20 lbs I have lost, never to be seen again. I have not had to buy new clothes yet but am looking forward to it soon. My recovery has really been easy other than learning how to eat all over again.

    Surgery In Tijuana

Dr Garcia is a good choice, I am very happy with my new tummy and agree with andersonlj that the facility and Dr Garcia's assistants as well as Hector the driver were excellent. My sleeve sister who had surgery the same day at the same hospital was sleeved by Dr Kelly and is also very pleased with the results. Dr Kelly even went to the hotel to check on her.

    Dr. Fernando Garcia

I was sleeved by Dr Garcia on Dec 5 and am very pleased with the whole experience.his team is very professional, the Mi Hospital is clean and the nursing staff are great. I did have an issue with the drain, it lodged some where and caused some pain, but as soon as it was taken out I had no pain. The incisions have healed nicely and have had no issues with drinking or eating.

? For Those Who Eat More Than 3x A Day

I eat 5-6 times a day. Every 3 hours I get hungry and if I don't eat I get a bad headache and feel physically ill. I was diagnosed hypoglycemic in about 1987 but have not really had problems with it in recent years, but I think my symptoms are related to it. I eat only very small amounts at a time and my caloric intake is between 600 to 800 a day and losing weight. This seems to work for me.
  8. I definitely felt hunger a few days after surgery and felt much better when I added unflavoured protein powder to my broth. It seemed to give my tummy something to do. I am 4 weeks out and have found that I sometimes feel hungry but it is acid reflux, water makes it worse but if I chew a couple of tums it goes away. Also I now find that I need to eat 6 small....haha....very small meals a day.
  9. OK, back on topic. Water lover I also am from Stoon. They sell little isopure drinks at shoppers also the isopure powder and many other brands that are not at the health food stores. We have a GNC at Midtown and I think Circle Park Mall. If you want to send me a message I may be able to help you out.

    December sleevers!

Since my Dec 5th surgery I have lost 16 lbs. I am starting to notice the loss on my body now and not only on my face. I have by trial and ERROR found out that my sleeve does not tolerate the spiciness of Thai soup. Oh man I paid for that, probably the only time a sleever dumps.

    Omg Ate A Whole Egg

I feel for you Estella, you must have a tiny sleeve. I spoke to Dr Garcia about the size of my sleeve and he agreed with me that removing only 75% would be good so I think I have a slightly bigger sleeve than is normal. Also I know from previous surgeries that I am a quick healer so maybe the swelling has gone down. I now scramble my eggs with a tablespoon of salsa and grated cheese...mmmmm. I can easily eat a 1/4 cup of most mushies. I have been eating shrimp and baked fish the last couple of days and find I fill up quickly on these solid foods. I have been using digest enzymes and think it really helps my digestion of the solid foods.
  12. Don't worry. broth is a clear liquid so if you are able to drink a glass of Water in that time you will also be able to take in the same amount of broth. When you start with the full liquids like creamy Soups you will find you will not be able to take in as much and then solids are a whole diffent ball of wax, that is when you will find 2 oz will fill you up..
  13. Hi December Divas, I am 49 and was sleeved in TJ on Dec 5 by Dr Garcia. I am thinking of this surgery as pushing my reset button. I have struggled with losing weight for the past 15 years. I could lose it only to find more later, although a few years back I lost about 30 lbs and was able to maintain my preop weight of 209, sometimes less. I have no regrets and yes still have head hunger but I know that once the hard part of relearning how to eat and live with the sleeve it will all have been worth it. Last night I saw a burger king commercial and could taste the burger...lol I don't even like burger king. Good luck to those of you that have surgery coming up.

    Omg Ate A Whole Egg

I ate a whole soft scrambled egg for lunch today...and it was sooo good. I was a little Leary but the liquid is just not keeping me satisfied and I have been feeling weak, needing protien. I am 12days out from surgery and doing great.
  15. Waterlover and Ateam we should start a Stoon group. There seems to be a few of us
