Happy Bandiversary Jenn and Laura. What a journey you two have been thru. I bet you would do it all over again, huh? Getting ready to go in for our shift at the hospital. I left work this morning and went to Wally World. Half way thru it hit me how tired I was. I barely could keep my eyes open and be cordial to the checker. Finally left there and had to run to city hall to get our plot plan. Came home and went straight to bed. Dang it, slept for an hour and 15 minutes and had to go pee. Well, at least I got a little sleep. Just didn't realize how taxed I was after this last week. Judy you had me laughing at the little old lady in the car remark. I too have found that I sit lower in my car seat. All that extra padding isn't there to prop me up. Everyone have a great evening. Hugs.

Good Morning, Sun is shining and it's supposed to be a beautiful day today. Taking my time this morning. Just going to relax for a little bit than I have my Weight Watcher's meeting. After that Hubby and I are headed to the court house to get the paperwork rolling. Maybe go to lunch if we have time. I have to open the store this afternoon and work for 5 hours. Today I stopped at Heartland because a girl I worked with was getting her lap-band. She looked really good for just being about 2 hours banded. I had her laughing about the whole thing. Well, I asked her about another girl at work and she said she was in surgery right now. I said are you kidding me. They were both banded today and on top of that one more girl is getting banded tomorrow. I asked her if I could get a kick-back from all 3 surgeries. Look what I started. Than went to see my Aunt. She was having a hard time waking up but the Doc said everything came out great. Said she should be out of the hospital in about 5 days. Came home and got Diane to go outside for the first time. She walked around the driveway for about 10 minutes and than headed abck to the recliner and went back to sleep. She said that's all she's done all day. Just had to stop my post for a few minutes. Heard her coming up the stairs. She came up 6 steps. Looks like the Doc did a good job. Everyone have a great evening. Hugs to all.

Judy, Have a safe trip. Busy day for me today. I have a shift this morning than heading over to KS to a hospital. My Aunt is having surgery this morning to reverse a colostomy. Than it's over to the Bariatric center. A girl I used to work with is having her band surgery today. I'm excited for her. We went thru all our house papers yesterday looking for the plot papers. We have to have them to file for a permit for the pool. I don't ever remember seeing them so it looks like I'm going to have to file for that also. So much paperwork to do to get this thing put in. Might be easier to move to a house that's already got a pool. I have a fill next week and I need it. Gonna work on my water this week and see if that helps. Everyone have a great day. Hugs. PS. Glad to hear from you and that all went well. I too did gain just a little at the beginnig. You need to remember that this is a time for you to heal. Pay attention to that. The weight will come off, I gurantee it. You need to heal, give your body time for this. Follow all the instructions that they gave you. If you need any information on what to eat and how much, just ask us. We will help anyway we can. Hang in there.

Good Morning, I'm up so I can open the store today. At least I have tomorrow off. Did anyone get an e-mail about starting a Lap-Band Magazine? They are asking people to send in their stories. This was the first I heard anything about it. Diane is home and trying to stay comfortable. Doc told her to try to just stay in the recliner. That should be her best bet. Good Morning I have a few minutes before I have to take off again and I just have a few things I need to say after reading all the post. Judy, Happy Bandiversary (sorry I missed it). Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. From the bottom of my heart, Thank You. Diane was in surgery for over 7 hours and it drained us all. We were told it would take 5 hours so you can imagine how our nerves were. Doc finally came out and told us she did great and she is now full of nuts and bolts and steel rods. (No going thru metal detectors without it beeping). He told us that she would feel like she had been hit by a train for about 2 weeks and after that she should really start to feeling better. The PT had her up and out of bed today and walking. She seems so much taller now. I went ahead and changed the sheets on her bed while they were walking. She was telling me how awful the bed was and that she has complained about it. Everyone told her that everyone complains about the beds, well the PT and I got to looking at it and the mattress wasn't working. She was actually just laying on a flattened mattress on top of a steel frame. We told the nurse about it and she called maintenance and in came another nurse and she went to the end of the bed and messed with the buttons. You could hear the bed start to inflate. After we got it going and her back in bed with the leg inflaters on, you should have seen her face. She was so much more comfortable. You guys are the best. Thank You so much for all the nice things you have said and for all your prayers. I'm going to be in and out of the hospital for the next few day with her. Hopefully she will be home by Friday. Doc said he will play it day by day. Hope all of you have a great day. HUGS.

Up and already have taken my shower. I'm charging my MP3 right now so I have something to listen to. Should have downloaded some new songs. Guess I'll just turn the FM on and listen to the banter. It's cold and raining here and we have to drive in it. It will take us about 40 minutes to get to the hospital. It's over in Kansas. Thanks for all your prayers. You guys are the best.

I need to complain. My cousin lives 2 houses away from a Dairy Queen and she won't trade houses with me. She's so lucky.

Looks like I wasn't the only bad girl around here this weekend. Jane, OMG. I wish I had been there. We would have had a hoot. Have to work a double shift today. 10am-1pm than 2:30pm to 7:30pm. After I'll have to come home and get my overnight bag packed. We have to be up at 3am to get ready to go. For some reason the hospital dosen't want Diane taking a shower right before. They gave her a pack of wash stuff that she is to use tonight and than put clean sheets on the bed to sleep in. Can't figure that one out. I'm going to french braid her hair for her so it' won't get all matted. Thanks for all the well wishes and I will keep you posted as soon as we get home. Confession time. This is not for the weak at heart. Warning. Warning. I went to Dairy Queen and got me a "Blizzard of the Month". It was excellent. Loved it. Please don't be ashamed of me. I know I had a weak moment. It's now over.

LemonLime, I too had to go thru the 6 month diet. As luck wold have it I had already been seeing my doctor at least once a month anyway. Each time you go in and they weigha nd take your blood pressure counts as a visit. So I only had 4 months to go. I did the Weight Watchers and saw my doctor each month. It was a long road and a journey that at the time was very frustrating. I however am glad that I did it. It made me a stronger person and made me realize that this band is precious to me. Take this time to learn about yourself. Learn about the band and learn how to eat right. It's all important. Good Luck to you.

Pam, Hubby and I bought an entertainment center several years ago and had it delivered. It was exactly what we had been looking for. The 2 delivery guys ended up breaking the back braces on it. I was so furious at the time that I just yelled for them to put it where I wanted it and we would get it fixed. It sat in the sam position for about 4 years. We painted the living room and just ended up reaching as far as we coud behind it to paint. Last fall when BIL moved in with I had him finally fix it. We had to actually lift it straight up and lay it on it's front side to do the work. It's so heavy. Got it done and now don't have to worry about it fallin apart. Laura, congrats on the work outs. Just remembert aht it might tak a while for the weight loss to show up. You should notice you losing inches first. Hang in there. It will all work out for you. Judy, I would love to parasail but I'm a falling down freakoid. That's why I haven't even tried skydiving. Yesterday was beautiful here. Got all our yard work done. Today it's shampooing carpets and changing bedsheets and laundry and window washing and vacumming the stairs and mopping the floors and cleaning toilets and, and, and. Hope all had a grat weekend.

I learned something today. I took my friend to have a colonoscopy done this morning and learned I don't want to go thru that. Poor thing. I felt so sorry for her and the other people laying there groaning. I'll have to work my nerve up if I ever have to have one. I am so excited. Tomorrow it's supposed to get in the upper 60's and it will be my first grass cut of the year. Hubby got the lawn mower out today and got it gassed up and running to make sure all is well. I've been waiting all winter for this. I love yard work, and besides it is considered exercize. Hope all of you have a great weekend.

Jack in the Box Tacos. They were my favorites. My first job was at Der Weinerschnitzel. A hot dog with mustard and onions. mmmmmmmmmm. If I remember correctly it was on Van Nuys Blvd. In Pacoima. My second job was at California Donuts in Sun Valley right off of 5. A hot buttermilk just glazed. Nothing better.

CinnMae~ Just four more days. How is your pre-op diet going? I had already been dieting for 6 months prior to my surgery so I didn't have to do the liquids. Hang in there. It will be here before you know it. Good Luck.
