Checking in before I head to bed. For someone who is so sick, I sure have been on the run today. Now I'm going to head off to sleep land. Tomorrow I will be busy doing baking. Lots of cookies to make. Tracy, keeping my fingers crossed that you guys get one of the houses you really like.

Quick check in before I head back out the door. Woke up this morning and could not swallow. Not a sick to my stomach type thing. This was a sinus throat thing. So I woke hubby up and he took me to the ER. We were in and out in 1 hour. Wow, loved it. Anyway, Doc said that the infection had settled in my throat and I am now on a z-pak and cough syrup with vicodin in it. Starting to do a little better. At least I can swallow water without tears. I'll be back in a few hours, have to take sis to her doc appointment.

Hey girls, Busy night last night and ubber busy this morning. Getting ready to go meet a friend for lunch. I won't see her till she comes back from her daughters next month. Jenn, I'm so glad that Kev came thru and how sad that he couldn't have done it when you guys were together. I hope he keeps coming thru for the kids sake. Got up and went to cuves this morning to work out and I was just getting ready to leave when one of the ladies came back in and said that her car had been broken into and her purse and a gift stolen. 40 minutes before the cops showed up and by that time they had already used the card at Quick Trip and Hy-Vee's. The spent $159.00 at the grocery store. Truly scary to know that we were only feet away from them being out there going thru a car. Our drug addicted nephew hit again last night. I was on my way home from some friends and called hubby to tell him I would be home in about 15 minutes. He told me his bottle of Vicodin was gone. He got it when they put him on the antibiotics for his abcessed tooth. Nephew swears up and down he didn't take it, just like he swore up and down he didn't take the last bottle. Turned out he finally confessed on that one. So needless to say it was not a pleasant time in my house last night. I hate addiction and what it does to families. Hope everyone has a great day and Ill chat when I get back from our hospital shift.

Just great, I go to the Dentist to have a filling repaired. While drilling, he breaks the tooth and I now have a temp crown. It was supposed to only take a half hour and I ended up being in the chair for one and a half hours. Poor hubby had to sit and wait for me.

Well that settles it. I guess with all the well wishes, I don't need to go to the Doc's. Thanks guys for thinking of me. I got on the scale this morning and in 2 days I have lost 7 pounds. Thank goodness for water pills. But the bad part about that is that it puts me right back where I weighed 5 weeks ago. ughhh. And I have a fill appointment next monday. Here's the hard part, I have 3 parties this weekend and a concert to go to. I'm sunk. Kat, those recipes sound wonderful and I think I'm going to try the red chili one. 45 degrees right now and supposed to drop all day. By 5pm it's only supposed to be 18 degrees. Michelle, glad you checked in. I'm still jealous about the blankets that you do. I wish I could do that. Keep up the good work. Everyone have a great day and I will check in when I get back from the Doc's.

Stopping by for just a sec. I've been so super busy and just now able to get on the computer. Abby spent the night last night and we had a blast. But like Kat's two, she wears me out. But we had such a good time. So I'm headed to bed. I have work in the morning and then head to the Doc's office. Hubby and I had a little talk earlier and I'm on the edge of tears again. I'm hoping for the best. I'll check in when I can. Kuurtamo, I wish I could help you out. I just know how to come to this group to chat. Good Luck.

Kat, vent all you want to. It is terrible that that happened and that we also have to pay taxes at the end of the year. I know in Ark. they pay theirs I think in Aug. Man, that would be so nice. And than to top it off them making a mistake doesn't make it any easier. Took Sis to go do her grocery shopping, got all done and was taking her home when my younger sis called and said that they had took her hubby in for an MRI on his leg and sure enough he has a broken bone. They called around and finally found an orthopedic Doc to take him on Monday. It's a bone in his thigh so you know they are not going to want any pressure on it at all. He's not going to be able to put his leg on so it's either the crutches or the wheelchair for him. Poor guy. Came home to a fire going. I love my hubby. I had a protein dink this morning and a few pretzels to snack on. While I had sis out we stopped to get her some tacos and I ate one and regretted it. I ate it too fast and had chest pains for 15 minutes. Sitting her with pressure in my chest but it's getting better. Tomorrow I work in the morning and than a girl that comes in is supposed to go with me to see the Bingham-Wagnor Home. They have it all decorated for Christmas ans we were wanting to go see it. I haven't talked to her all week, I hope we are still on for this. It's an old English home built around the turn of the century. The family finally donated it to the city. It was restored and now they give tours everyday. Now if I can keep from falling asleep in my chair.

Tracy, that is horrible about your brother and his wife. And it certainetly makes for a uncomfortable holiday get together. Good luck. Home from work and I fixed hubby his dinner. So far I have had only about 900 calories. Some not so healthy. But a friend of mine started me on this herbal tea that is supposed to cure all that ails you. You drink 2 cups in the morning and 2 at night and you have to drink them on an empty stomach. Well, I decided to drink 1 cup and 1 cup. It's kind of icky to get down and I wanted to give it a few days to get in my system so I'm watching what I eat and how much. Even if it takes care of the gallstones, it might be worth it. Hope everyone is having a good day.

Tracy. Congrats on getting a house. I hope it is the one you want. Kat, good luck to you and Rick today. My Dr. appointment is scheduled for Monday. Keeping fingers crossed that they can treat this with meds and not surgery. Came home for my 2 hour break and did some cleaning. Just ate a bowl of cottage cheese and pineapple, had a string cheese also. Now I have 1/2 hour before I have to get back to work. Jenn, I know you are working but Honey, you need to check in.

Is Tracy down from her High yet? LOL. Sitting here with wet hair. Just took my shower and now need to go dry my hair and put some socks on. My feet are cold. Long day for me today. I'm doing a double shift. The hospital was super busy last night which was good. It makes the time go by faster. We did have a good time but it was four hours before I was able to sit down for a minute. Then when I was getting ready to leave, there was a local church that was going around giving roses to all the patients and nurses, they even gave me one. It was their way of spreading holiday cheer. I'll check in soon.

Jenn, good luck with the snow. We ended up getting about 1/2 inch but now the winds are howling. It's 10 degrees with a windchill of -4. Looks like I'm not going anywhere for awhile. Maybe back to bed.

Well, the weather people got it wrong again. Never saw one flake. But it is very cold and it did sleet for a little while. They are still calling for it to snow over night so I guess we will see. Hubby told me last night that he had a toothache and wanted to know if I would call the Dentist. This morning as I was leaving for work, he once again asked if I would call the Dentist. I said I would when I got home because I didn't really think he would appreciate me calling at 6am. So I get off work at 9am, go to the store and on the way home I call and ask to get hubby in. If we can be there in 15 minutes, they can get us both in for a cleaning and to look at his tooth. Rush home to get him and back to the other side of town. Made it in time in the sleet and rain. Hubby has an abcessed tooth and needs to be on antibiotics and will have aroot canal next tuesday. I have not cavities but do have a filling that has to be replaced. So I get to go in next tuesday also. A fun day for both of us. NOT. Made a little pot of steak soup for dinner. Just need to cook the noodles and put it in one pot. It'll feel good with this cold weather going on here. Chat soon.

So far no snow but it looks like TracyKS is getting dumped on. There's about an hour drive between us and she ia a little more north than me. I have to work for 3 hours this morning and then off for the rest of the day. That's going to be a tough one. I'll need to find something to keep myself busy and away from the fridge. Think I'll head into the spare room and clean the closet out. All is quiet here, not sure if Sis and BIL came home last night, so news on if he broke his leg or not. Hope he is ok. Have a great day.

Wish I had the fireplace going. I went to Church class tonight and all went well. I was waiting for the kids to be picked up and thought I would give hubby a call. He answered but was all out of breath and said that he was helping to get BIL in the car. They think he broke his leg. My sis was taking a walk and BIL got on his bike and he must have hit a slick spot. So I get home and hubby said that it was his nub that they thought was broke. See, this is very serious stuff. He only has one leg. He was born with no bone in one leg and they amputated it just below the knew. So that part is what they are thinking is broken. He won't be able to put his artificial leg on. Now I'm just going to have to wait till they get back from the ER to find out what happened. Cold here, only 26 degrees. Supposed to snow starting around midnight but I think most of it is going to stay a little north of us. But I still have enough here to make another pot of good soup to keep us warm and we had firewood delivered on Saturday.

Brenda, Good Luck with getting you Band. I agree, it is the best present you can give yourself. Please keep us posted. Yes Tracy, you do smell it. And it was very good. However, I think next time I will leave the cabbage out. There would still be plenty of veggies in it. See you all tomorrow. Night.

I have a BIG pot of soup going on the stove. Several months ago, hubby and I were driving to the in-laws and we went by one of those little country stores and stopped by. They had a big display of plastic containers of soup mixes. I have never bought one before and decided to go ahead and try one. You simmer for an hour the contents and than add a few veggies and some beef. Boy, my house smells wonderful. Just hope the soup taste as good.

Years ago when my MIL was in the hospital. My 3 SIL's and I were in the hallway right outside of ICU. There was a window sill about a foot off the ground were you could sit. One day while we were waiting the 4 of us were sitting on the sill and it just cracked us up. Non of us were saying anything but our heads were in unisons(sp?) as people walked back and forth. We never made a comment about anyone, we just sat there for about a 1/2 hour watching people. Got up early and decided to go to the market. They are calling for snow tonight and again on Tuesday, so I thought I would avoid the rush. I got stuff to make a big pot of soup. Came home and fixed some sausage and an egg for my breakfast. The rest of the family is having donuts. :w00t: Got to get back to my laundry. I'll check in later.

Kat, I love little towns like that. When my sister used to live in Arkansas I liked going over to Eureka Springs at Christmas. It would always put you in a very good mood and bring out the spirit of the holiday in you. The luminaries at the college sounds lovely. They is a neighborhood a couple of miles from here and they do on a sunday night luminaries. The bad thing about going thru there is hubby drives to fast. LOL. I like to take my time so I can look in the windows and doors to see how people decorate their homes.

Finally I got to sleep for more than 4 hours and it felt good. I drank a hot cocoa and then headed to the gym to workout. Home now and going to get started on some housework. So far I have had a bowl of oatmeal. I'm really going to keep my eating under control. I'm very vulnerable right now and feel like I could eat a house. Hubby is bringing in wood for the fireplace and we are waiting for the guy to deliver wood. Said he would be out sometime today. Ane we need it. So very cold here and they are calling for snow I think tonight and also Monday night. Kat, When does Rick go for his biopsy? Jenn, I hope you have a great time tonight. Cindy, You have had a busy week. Sorry I missed your Birthday. Hope it and your anniversary were great.

Is that snow I see in Texas??? Home from a lovely evening. We went to Outback and had prime rib. Everything was really good but very salty. Looks like I will be taking a water pill in the morning. We then went on our yearly outing of driving down Chicago St. to see the Christmas light. It's a mile long drive of yard after yard decorated to the hilt. One section is all done in bible verse. Starting with Mary and Joseph looking for an Inn, all the way to him rising from the cave. It's so nice to see every year. It's also my first candy cane of the season. Have a great weekend and I will chat when I have the chance.

Quick post while the nephew is gone. He's been on the computer all morning. Applying for unemployment and making a resume. Also looking for jobs. Sis has him doing something right now, so I'm jumping at the chance to chat for a minute. I'm in a better mood today but still very easy to cry. The tears are right there. I have to bite my lip when talking to anyone or hearing anything. Today is actually Hubby and mine's 27th. wedding anniversary. We have a gift certificate for Outback Steakhouse so we are going there for dinner. Tracy, that is so sad about your Dr.s wife. How horrible. Reminded me of about 10 years ago. My Docter at the age of 41 passed awayfrom a heart attack. He was only 6 months older than me and just had a baby girl. It was such a shock. Later tonight I will sit down and send out emails. But in the mean time, I need to let you all know how much I really appreciate all of you. Thank you so much for being patient and caring and just being there when I need you. I truly appreciate all of you. Have a great evening.
