I have only seen 2 people I used to work with and they both have had to go in for testing also. They were ok when I saw them. All expenses are covered by the company. They will continue to pay and if they do ever find anything they will pay for it also. It's just something I have to keep track of and make sure I get checked. Although my kidney's are producing the uric acid I don't have gout. I have my feet checked often and I have no sign of gout. The medicine I'm on is to help with that. One of the side affects of it is that it causes fingernails to lift and fall off. So far I'm not having any of that. But I have a ridge that appeared right after starting the med. Doc said it looks ok and should disappear after I stop taking it. "Big Medicine" was on tonight. Does anyone watch it? Allen has done wonderful but I still feel sorry for him.

Tracy-- Pictures are awesome. I agree that the T-shirt is now too big but that is how I like my clothes. I get people telling me I need to buy new ones because I look to frumpy wearing what I am. I like loose and comfy. Pam-- So sorry to hear about what happen. I couldn't imagine loosing my Mom at such an early age. That family is in my prayers. Judy-- We need an update on the eliptical. Got up this morning and went to the Y and walked on the treadmill for over a mile. Than I went to Curves and worked out for 40 minutes. Got home and took a shower and got ready to go to the kidney Doctors. I have been having to do monthly blood draws so they can monitor my kidney's. Well Dr. Thomas told me today that with the weight lose and keeping myself healthy I can now go to bi-monthly testing and I don't have to go back to see her for 4 months. Whoo hoo. I've been trying real hard because I hate taking the medicine that she has me on. So hopefully I can be off of it in the next 6 months or so. I used to work for a company that built nuclear weapons and so I have to have regular testing for damage to my body from all the chemicals that we used. So far I have tested safe but they discovered that there was a problem with my kidneys. They weren't dieseased but the were producing to much uric acid. So good thing I went in for my check-up. I do feel in my heart that my hysterectomy was caused by the chemicals but can't prove it. How come all my family was way older but I was in my thirty's when I had mine. It was horid. Was at St' Luke's cancer center for months. took 6 months of therapy and home health to get me up and cleared. So I am trying very hard to stay healthy and seem to be doing a pretty good job so far. Went to the park and walked the dog today. It wasn't too bad but the winds were really chilly. Waiting for spring so I can get back outside to walk. I miss it. Don't forget that tomorrow is CTCD. And I think the "Water Patrol" will be on duty tomorrow also. Everyone have a great evening.

Haydee--Welcome home. Sorry to hear about your grandparents. Hope things are getting better. Kat-- How far from Farmington are you? TracyKS-- I also vote for updo. More of a french roll with little wisps of curls coming down. How about a shawl for the arms. I don't know what your colors are but maybe something to match. By the way, the dress is gorgeous and you are too. Went and worked out this morning and than went in to work. My legs and ankles are killing me tonight. It was so busy there today and I was bouncing on my feet the whole time. I stopped at the store and got the hubby some deli chicken for his dinner so I don't have to cook. I have a long day tomorrow chaufering sisters around. I'm pooped just thinking of it. Did everyone do good on their water today? I know I did. I think I have already pee'd 20 times today. Everyone have a great evening.

Kat-- Wishing you luck on getting the job. I was just trying to get a mental picture of how my week was stacking up and all the things I have to do when it dawned on me that "I have a job". Almost forgot that I have to work this week. Silly me. It's still new to me so that's how I forgot. I will keep you in my prayers. Terri-- Thanks for posting the pictures of your jewelry. I'm amazed at your talent. I'm gonna work on learning to either crochet or knit. I have tried both but have not put a lot of effort in to it. Keep up the good work. Judy-- I'm thnking a roll of grey tape would work for me. My size large "C" cups and my belly button have become good friends over the years. Thank You for the quote for the day. I'm going to post that on my refridge. I've been in and out today. Know why? Because it's in the 60's here today. I'm loving it and do what I can. Yesterday I cleaned up around the wood pile and swept out the garage. So today I'm working on washing windows and watching football. The kitties don't want to spend to much time out there. I think the wind is spooking them. Working on my water. I've had about 40 ounces. My newst thing is chuncky peanut butter on celery sticks. I have 2 of those and I'm good for about 5 hours. Everyone have a great day. -

On one of the web pages they were talking about people drinking coffee before they went to work out. One recent finding, as irresponsible as it may be, that caffeine increases the body's fat-burning potential has many people loading up on coffee before going to the gym. This finding may hold some degree of truth in it, but caffeine is, in essence, a diuretic, and diuretics dehydrate. Here is more about fluids. Do you think water is yucky? Drinking other fluids will certainly help hydrate your body, but the extra calories, sugar, additives and whatever else aren't what you need. Try a slice of lemon or lime in the glass, or if you really think you hate water, try a flavored water. Just make sure you read the labels. -

Found this on Band2gether.com Coffee counts!!!!!!!!!! I'm a recent coffee convert (thanks to all the Starbucks chatter here and the fact that Splenda ROCKS!). I've always heard that you can't count coffee in your daily water intake, but decided to check it out. Welllll seems from what I'm finding - you CAN!!! Does coffee count towards my daily fluid needs? Yes. All fluids count--plain water, juice, soup, watermelon--and even coffee. The rumor that coffee dehydrates people lacks scientific support. and.... The good news is that you can now count tea and coffee as part of your intake. Previously it was thought they acted like diuretics, encouraging the body to get rid of fluid. We now know this isn’t true, and you can drink tea and coffee as part of your 2.5 litres. And there is nothing like a cup of tea to give you a lift. My only note of caution is that large amounts of caffeine can reduce the amount of calcium we absorb from our food; the tannins in tea have a similarly negative effect on iron absorption. and even from the MayoClinic: .......Even beer, wine and caffeinated beverages such as coffee, tea or soda can contribute, but these should not be a major portion of your daily total fluid intake. Water is one of your best bets because it's calorie-free, inexpensive and readily available. Hope this helps out a little. -

Pam--Love the quote. That's the kind of stuff that helps keep me motivated. Here's my story for the day. I'm on my way to work when hubby calls and said that Dr. Malley's office called and wanted to know if I wanted to come in earlier than Feb 4th. for a fill. He told them he would have me call back. My last appointment and fill was Dec. 4th.. So I called the office back and they still wanted to know if I wanted to come in early. I kind of hem-hawed and finally admitted to her that I had only lossed about 3 pounds since my last fill. She said than it was time to come in and I told her "NO". I than proceeded to tell her that there was nothing wrong with my band or with my last fill and that I felt I had somewhat good restriction. It's that it was me and not the band that was failing. That is was me that was not being a good girl and that is was me that was kicking my butt for being a bad girl for the month of December. She giggled a little and and than said to not be so hard on myself. I thanked her and still told her I would wait till Feb. to get a fill. That I needed to get my head back on straight before I came running for help that I really didn't need. She was so nice about the whole thing. So, this is me working on being a good girl this month. I worked out extra hard today and am resolved to get up in the morning to go work out. Sunday will be a walking day since it's supposed to be warmer here. Shakes, salads, cottage cheese and fruit. That's me. Oh and Lots of water and tea. Had my first day all by myself today and things went real well till I found out that the computer had froze up. So I called my boss and we got it figured out. Finally closed up at 1pm and haven't heard from anyone so I'm guessing all was well with everything. I think I'm gonna like this job. Everyone have a great evening and if you need to, finish up on your water. I may not have been on here all day but I still watching your water intake. -

Water Patrol is up and on duty. As far as the tips go it doesn't have to be about weight loss or diets. It could definately be anything to encourage us or to improve our lives. I like them and know there are ones that will really inspire us. Ok, Drink, Drink, Drink, -

I love the tips. I find great comfort in them and have in the past been very inspired by somethings that people have said. One time in church one of the lectors got up and spoke. All though he was not speaking to me directly, what he had to say impacted me. It was right after that that I started my weight loss journey. I finally after a year got up the nerve to tell him Thank You. I don't remember what it was that he said but do know that it impacted me alot. So I vote to keep posting as long as anyone is willing. I for one appreciate it. Somewhat made it through CTCD. Made a few detours. Tomorrow is my first day at my job by myself. I got the key to the door the other day and now I am official. Yikes. What have I gotten myself into. Well, at least I'll get a paycheck out of it. Don't forget that the "Water Patrol" will be on duty tomorrow also. Good Luck to all. -

Tracy- I was wondering how your appointment went. Hope you still have luck with the unfill and losing. At least maybe you will start to fill better. I met the new assistant at my last appointment. I thought she seemed very nice but I kind of felt the same. She's awfully pretty and very skinny. At least Malley had a prior weight problem and knows where we are coming from. Maybe over time she will lighten up alittle. -

50 diets = 50 plateaus Every diet known to man-kind. Every person who has ever dieted. All have the same thing in commmon. Plateaus. I gurantee it. What it boils down to is, How bad do we want it? How stong are we? Do we have faith? Who is stronger, me or the diet? You know the answer. It's right there in your heart. Just remember you are not in it alone. We are all in this together and we WILL all make it. Some faster than others. Some on the slow boat. But we will all make it. Tomorrow's another day and a fresh start. -

Judy- glad to have you back on-line. That friend of yours that had the gastric by-pass might have lost more weight at a faster rate than what you have, but you picked a better way. Losing weight at a fast rate like that is extremely hard on the body. Losing at a slower rate like us is what will help us to keep it off in the long run. I know several people who had that surgery and they all say that if they had known prior to surgery what would have happen to them after, they would not have gone thru with it. Even though they lost the weight, they have other issues to deal with. Be proud of what you have done and be proud of where you are. Hold your head high. Is everyone getting their water in? Come on girls, you can do this. CTCD day. Don't forget. -

Found is and thought I should post it here. Don’t Quit! When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, When the road you're trudging seems all uphill, When the funds are low, and the debts are high, And you want to smile, but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit, Rest if you must, but don't you quit. Life is queer with its twists and turns, As every one of us sometimes learns, And many a failure turns about, when he might have won had he stuck it out; Don't give up though the pace seems slow, You may succeed with another blow. Success is failure turned inside out, The silver tint of the clouds of doubt, And you never can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems so far; So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit, It's when things seem worst, that You Must Not Quit. - C. W. Longenecker -

Welcome to Lori and Shannon. You will find over time this is the place to be. This is one of the best supportive groups to belong to. Glad you're here. Panda-- Congratulations. You must be walking tall right now. Take good care of yourself. OK Girls, Today is CTCD. Everybody needs to be on their best behavior. Drink. Drink. Drink. Tip for the Day. It's actually two tips. Good Luck to all. Take a shower or bath when a food craving strikes. It will relax you, and keep your whole body occupied and out of trouble (i.e., the kitchen) until the craving fades. Phone a talkative friend when a food craving strikes. Call from a corded phone outside the kitchen, and stay on until the craving fades. -

Getting ready to start my second route 44 cup. Think I'll mix up some CL to drink this time. Trying to figure out what to have for lunch. Maybe a small salad and a yogurt. Very cold today but is supposed to be in the 50's this weekend. I'm ready for it, I'm gonna put my walking shoes on and get outside. -

Got up and went to go swimming. It was 18 degrees outside. What in the world am I doing in a swim suit out in this cold. Got home and changed so I could go work out at Curves. While I was there Lynn gave me the keys to the place. I am officially a working girl now. Yikes, that's scary. Anyway, I stopped at Sonic and got me a route 44 unsweeted ice tea with extra ice. I will use this as a gauge for my drinking. So far I have had an apple juice before swimming. A banana before Curves and I just had a handfull of dry cereal. Now to work on my water intake. Girls, We can do this. :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: Everyone up and go get your glass right now and start drinking. It's so good for you. :) -

Just got back from the neighbors. Went over there to play cards with the kids and ended up drinking 3 margarita's. Is tequila a vegetable. I hope so. I could get in 8-10 of those a day. We played a game called Phase 10. It was a lot of fun but very long. Hope everyone enjoyed their Holiday. Tomorrow it's back to the losing side of life.
