Info............They just announced on the news this morning that San Antonio was rated the second Fattest city. Las Vegas was first. Good thing you're not going there.

Where has everyone been today? So quiet here.

Quiet night around here. Maybe we should have all gone to Disney World and joined in on the fun.

Poor Jane, Hope it goes away fast. I have a story to tell you guys. Bare with me and I will be as brief as I can. We have a couple who live across the street from us. Pat and Becky. She has 2 kids from a previous marriage that she left to have an affair with Pat. So Pat and Becky have been married about 10-12 years. We see tham come and go all the time. He is a paramedic and rides in an ambulance, she is a flight nurse and rides in a helicopter. We have been friendly with them and was even friendly when she lived there with her first husband. One day Pat was over at the neighbors for a block party and he was telling us that he had just gotten the Band. Hubby and I were so excited because at the time I was in the final stages of getting mine. I don't think I had a date yet but we knew it was coming up. Anyway, they were so suppotive while I was going thru my surgery. They even came over the first night I was home to check on me. So, Time goes by and both me and Pat are losing weight.. Ocassionaly we would see him out front and holler at him or I would go over and see how he was doing. There were times that Pat would be out doing yard work or getting the mail and I would jokingly say to Hubby, "Woo Pat's looking good". Or "Man, Pats wasting away". You know what I mean. Just little remarks about how well he's doing. Now remember it's not unusual for us to not see tham for awhile as they have odd hours and work long shifts. So this morning I'm at Curves working out and in comes Pat's sil. So we were talking for awhile and she brings up living across the street and I told her that I hadn't seen Pat in a while but that it happens like that. She proceeds to tell me that I won't be seeing him there anymore since they are getting a divorce. She said that they probably were all ready divorced. I was dumbstruck. They seemed like they had a pretty good marriage. I was shocked to say the least. So she tells me that "You know, there are always 2 sides to a story". She said that what she knew was that Becky was threatened by Pat's weight loss. She had told him not to lose anymore that she was afraid that he would leave her. Now. Becky is one of those people who you would envy for her size. She has a great shape and can wear almost anything. Pat was at the most 100 pounds over weight. If that. I have read that this does happen. That people I guess change after they lose weight. And that the divorce rate is very high for people in our position. I just haven't known anybody it happened too. I'm still in shock over this. I wasn't sure I wanted to tell Hubby and have him get worried. I told my Sis and she asked if I had told Hubby and I told her I had. She said that he didn't have anything to worry about. That we were good as gold. It's till freaky though. I just can't help thinking that there had to be more than the weight loss that caused this. Maybe someday I will get the nerve up to ask Becky or one of the kids. I'll keep you posted if I do. Sorry that was so long but this is an issue that might roar it's ugly head with this group. You just never know. Everyone have a great weekend.

Sorry this was so late in the day. But better late than never. A POEM ABOUT OUR GIRLFRIENDS Someone will always be prettier. Someone will always be smarter. Some of their houses will be bigger. Some will drive a better car. Their children will do better in school. And their husband will fix more things around the house. So let it go, and love you and your circumstances. Think about it! The prettiest woman in the world can have hell in her heart. And the most highly favored woman on your job may be unable to have children. And the richest woman you know, she's got the car, the house, the clothes~~~~ might be lonely. And the word says, 'If I have not Love, I am nothing.' So, again, love you. Love who you are. Look in the mirror in the morning and smile and say, 'I am too Blessed to be Stressed and too Anointed, to be Disappointed!' 'Winners make things happen~~ Losers let things happen.' Be 'Blessed' Ladies~~~~~ and pass this on to encourage another woman. 'To the world you might be one person, but to the one person you just sent this to, it could mean so much.' SEND THIS TO YOUR FAVORITE WOMEN ~~ I JUST DID!

I wanna go to Judy's to exercise and to eat.

TracyKS- Is there a meeting this Saturday? I haven't gotten a notice for it yet. I know they cancelled the Nutrional Meeting. Let me know. I looked on the website but they don't have anything listed.

Just checking in. Judy, I need the recipe for the pork chops in the crock pot. That would be something Hubby would eat. Got called into work. All I have to do is open the store and hang around for about an hour. Thought I was going to get a day off this week. Working on my water but it's not going to good. I'm going to try to step it up. Have a great day.

Hey, Sorry I didn't check in yesterday. I was extremely busy all day. Got up and it had snowed out. Only about an inch, but enough to close school for the day. Had a lot to do to get ready for work. Got to work and it was closed. Jill left a note saying no one had come in so she decided to close and go home. Well all the people tried to come in but she was gone so they came in on my shift. I was so busy. Left work late and had to get home to feed hubby before we left for our shift at the hospital. OMG... Got up this morning and can hardly walk. My ankles are killing me. We started our shift last night and it was wonderful. We so busy and we had such a great time. I even got to go into isolation to hand feed a patient. Had to get completely covered up. Wished I'd had a camera for you to see. We made our final round checking waters and picking up trays and than said that was it. We were done. I couldn't go anymore. It was so much fun and we really enjoyed our time, it's just that it kicked my butt being on the move like that for 5 hours. TracyKS. We only got about a inch and a half of snow. By the time I got of work the sun ad come out and had melted the snow on the roads. Hope it wasn't to bad for you. TracyK. The not eating was caused by my having a fill on Monday. That's the first time that I have ever had that feeling. I just feel not hungry. It's almost like I have to remind myself to eat. I am eating though. It's not very much but I do have to keep my strength up and watch my sugar level. Everyone have a great day. I have a little running around to do this morning than it's back home and putting my feet up. We haven't ahd a group hug in awhile, so here it is.
-
Long day today and I'm really tired. So much for the snow we were to get. Now they are sayng after midnight but i think it's starting to come down now in Kansas. I have to work at Curves tomorrow and it's also our day to volunteer at the hospital. I hardly ate anything today. Just don't feel like it. I'm liking this though. Best way to lose weight. And I need to really get busy at that. We got our letter in the mail today. Our Family Reunion is this July. It's held every 3 years because there are so many of us and we are spread out all over the states. I need to walk in there holding my head high with pride. Did you all have a good CTCD? Hope everyone had a great day. I'll check-in in the morning and maybe the Water Patrol will feel like being On-Duty.

Haydee- I didn't realize what a beautiful woman you are. You are stunning. Can you change your avatar?

Pamela, Have a great time in your spare time there. We stayed there when I was about 15 years old. We rode the Monorail into the park from there. As I remember it was a very nice place to stay. I'm sure it's changed over the years. I think there is a parking garage real close to the park, if you see it my brother helped build it. While he was operating one of the earth movers a rock pinged up and hit him in the elbow. He grabbed his elbow and rubbed it and said that when he pulled his hand away there was blood. So he went and showed his boss and he sent him to the hospital to have it cleaned. Turns out that he had been shot. They said it must have been a drive-by shooting and that it happens alot with construction workers. It's Fat Tuesday and that means for us girls that we need to watch ourselves and not head back to that Fat Girl. So how appropriate that it's also CTCD. Let's be extra good today. Everyone have a great day today. Tracy and I are supposed to get lots of rain, than sleet, than snow later today and by the time it's done we should have up to 7 inches. Come on Spring.

Went had my appointment with Malley today. He got his haircut and I didn't get a chance to tell him how much I liked it. He was pretty sympathetic about my not losing any weight. He was just glad I made it thru the holidays without gaining. I'm still upset about it though. I'm a better person than that and I'm bound and determined to not let that happen again. He cranked it down pretty good. I haven't eaten all day and finally had some yogurt for dinner. It's still sitting on my band. Hoping this is the one. Weather is getting ready to turn bad here. It was absolutely beautiful here today. We even took Dogie to the park and walked around. He had a ball. I got called in to work for tomorrow. Will have to see if the sleet starts first, hope all holds off till I can at least get out to vote. Got to do my duty. Judy- A big Thank You to a Guardian Angel. Terri- Still keeping you and your family in my thoughts. Jennifer-?????????? Everyone stay safe and warm evening and talk to you tomorrow.
-
Jennifer, You might be right about your Grandma hanging on becuase of you and your Mom. How touching is that. She doesn't want to leave either one of you. Bless her heart. When I listen to stories that you and Terri are telling us , I can't help but get a little jealous. I know that sounds weird but when you don't have your Mom you tend to miss all of the things that you shared with them. Enjoy what time you have with them now. The pain of lossing them is almost unbearable but missing them afterwards is almost as unbearable. Take the time you have now to say and do the things you need too. Remind them every ten minutes how much you love them. I'm keeping all of you in my prayers. Ok, to everyone else. GET ON THE BALL. We all have STUFF going on in our lives that interfere with our weight loss but we need to quit making excuses. The band was our best gift to ourselves and we need to start using it. Start today. It's that easy. You can do it. I can do it. We are in this together and we are so worth it. "WATER PATROL ON DUTY" This also includes Frank. Have a great day.
-
Hey, That recipe that I posted a little back for the Nacho Fondue. I'm not sure if any of you made it or not but I was the hit of the evening. Everyone was goo goo over it. Have to I was pretty impressed myself. Really had to limit myself with it. Later I made Fajitas and we used it on then also. You guys need to give it a try. Yeah, Giants, Super Bowl Champs.
-
Tracy, So glad to hear he's feeling better. I can't imagine the stress you were having not knowing what was happening and trying to do your best. You deserve a stiff drink for that one. And a long nights rest. Do make sure he walks around every now and then. Don't let it settle in his lungs. Take care of both of you. Working on my fourth round of 20 ounces of water. Haven't even started any of the cooking so I'm doing good food wise. Can it be bad to have to much yogurt in one day? I've had 2 yoplaits already and was just wondering. I'll check in later.
-
Tracy- congrats on the 2 pounds. You are doing awesome. It must be so hard being so close to goal. Good Luck and hang in there. Kat- I too am struggling with the excess skin problem. But I still need to lose some more weight before I can even think about surgery. What I hate is when I get up in the morning and come out from my bedroom and I'm walking down the hallway and everything is swinging back and forth. I just have my night gown on and there is no support. So as I walk it just swings. Boobies and belly. I agree with you that I hate what my body has become but not as much as what my body was. I would rather live the rest of my life looking like this than what I looked like a year ago. I'm going to give it another year and than I will look into what my insurance covers. If they don't than maybe I need to look at a job to help pay for it. I told my hubby when he asked if I has geting my boobs done. That by the time I get thru with all of the surgery they are going to look like an eighteen year olds. He can't hardly wait. Remember that we are more critical of our bodys. Our familys might see it but they love us for WHO we are and not what we look like. Hugs to you girlfriend. Started my water allready. I have a Dr.s appointment tomorrow and still try to get off as much weight as I can. Everyone have a great Super Bowl day. Watch the junk. And....................... GO Giants.

Just finished eating and doing dishes. Now just resting and watching the end of "War of the Worlds". I fixed Weight Watchers sloppy Joes. They were actually pretty good. I didn't put mine on a bun. I just got a litle 1/2 cup bowl and ate it and about a 1/2 cup of mac & cheese. Here's the recipe. You can double it and freeze it for up to a month. You even get your veggies in on this one. 1/2 pound lean ground beef 1 (10-ounce) package frozen mixed vegetables 1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste 1 (1.3 or 1.5 ounce) package sloppy joe seasoning mix 3 Whole-wheat hamburger buns, split Heat a large non stick skillet over medium high heat. Add the beef and cook until browned, 4-5 minutes, stirring with a spoon to break it up. Discard the drippings. Stir in the mixed vegetables, 1 1/3 cups of Water. the tomato paste and the seasoning mix. Bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer, stirring until thickened, about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat the broiler. Place the buns cut side up on a broiler rack and broil 3 inches from the heat until toasted. 1-2 minutes. Top each bun half with 1 slice of cheese and broil till cheese is melted, about 1 minute longer. Spoon 1/2 cup of the beef mixture on top of each bun half and serve at once. 207 calories 5 gram, Fiber 19 gram Protein

Judy, In my Scripture Study at Church, we are doing a series by Beth Moore. It's called "Stepping UP', a journey through the Psalms of Ascent. It's Psalms 120 to 134. This will be the third study I have done under her. The first was "Patriarchs of the Bible". This followed Abraham thru his sons. Last year we did "Daniel". I'm still trying to figure that one out. Anyway, if you ever get a chance to do her studies, do so. She teachs the womens perspective. She is wonderful. I think you would enjoy them. It was through the beginning of the first study that I was introduced to a wonderful lady in a video that changed my life. Her name is Jennifer Rothschild. I hope I got that right. She is blind and teaches Bible study. She was telling a story and I had to get up in the class and leave. I was crying so hard because she was saying things that just brought it home to me. That was the very beginning of my weight loss journey. I knew that things had to change in my life and she brought it to light. One of her stories was that she had met a young man that had lost the use of his legs and he was telling her that people would always say to him that they bet he couldn't wait to get to heaven so he could walk again. He said that was not true. He couldn't wait to get to heaven so that he could "kneel' before God. That still haunts me. There were a few other things that she said that also. Made me do some serious thinking. Have a great evening.

Ok, I'm here for my water count. Give it up Girls. I've gotten about 60 ounces so far and that's a far cry from my usual 120 ounces. I need to hurry up and start drinking. I'll check back soon for your amounts.
-
Jenn, Prayers to you and your family. I'm so sorry for what you are going thru. Hang in there. Stopping in to check on everybody's water. How are you all doing. I'm kinda slow on mine but working it in. Haven't decided what I'm giving up for lent. I'll be going for my ashes before I go into work, so I'm sure I'll have a few questions to answer. I've never done fat tuesday but so far I'm real tired of all the phone calls before the Super Tuesday vote. Phone rang non-stop yesterday. Everyone wanting our vote. Everyone have a nice day. I'm off to Church and will check back in to see what your water numbers are after I get home. Good Luck.
