  2. Wow....remember certain people will always be negative just to keep you down because THEY are jealous. Stick to your guns and start a new healthier you. Sit down with your parents and explain what this means to you. I too started at 320 and am now down to 269 (had surgery 3 months ago)...It is the best decision ever. Good Luck to you!

    Sugar-free Mints?? Gum???

My doctor and dietician say no gum at all,,,,it puts a lot of unnecessary gasses in your tummy....all doctors are different so check with yours
  4. Congrats...it does get easier, just do lots of walking and lots of water
  5. This is a great story...thanks for sharing and congrats on your success
  6. lol i am far from upset but some of the questions on this forum strike me as odd....my opinion is why not ask your doctor these questions? Anyway GL to you
  7. didn't your doctor give you this information? I don't get why you are asking this, call your doctor. After my first fill i went 2 days on all liquids and then the third day mushies and the 4th back to regular foods, but call your DR...
  8. Hey Jenn.....first of all take a breath .....give it some time and see how you do, usually from reading this forum it takes a few tries to get to restriction. I had my first fill 4.2cc in a 10cc band about a month ago and didn't get any restriction so i called my Dr's office and scheduled another fill all in which i have Dec 29th....I am sure we will get to that perfect sweet spot soon...GL to you!

Fill Question For Men And Women

I had my first fill some 3 weeks ago, a 10cc band and was given 4.2cc of fluid....I feel as if some days i could eat my arm and find myself at times eating a lot more than i should...So i scheduled my next fill because obviously i do not have any restriction, from reading these forums seems it takes many times to "get there"

    Help... Newbie And Scared

Don't you have a doctor or a nutritionist for these answers? Personally if you aren't going to follow the rules given and change your habits you were never ready for this journey...You need to call your nutritionist right away and get on board with your doctor for these concerns....Good Luck to you!
  11. I had my first fill a few weeks ago and it was a little painful and quite uncomfortable (for me) I found the numbing needle both burned and stung but that was the worst of it...the whole process took 5 mins. I was on liquids for 2 full days and back on mushies for day 3 and regular foods on day 4...Everyone is different in the process but you will be fine, good luck to you!

    It Happened

I haven't had any "stuck" episodes to date and was banded sept 14th...I find whenever i eat any meats i always have something to dip it in next to me, i never eat a dry piece and chew chew chew small small pieces. Good Luck!
  13. Hey Everyone, My name is Tams and I was banded 9/14/11......Started this journey at 320 lbs (pre surgery)...day of Surgery weighed 293 and today i am at 270....I have been reading this forum since i came home from Surgery and you guys are simply great. Everyone is so supported here and hence me decided to make my profile and post. I just had my first fill last Thurs, 4.2 cc of fluid added into my band, don't think i am in the green zone yet but maybe by the next fill in a month. I look forward to this journey as I am so proud that i did this to begin with. If there are any newbies that want to ask me questions and I will reach out to you "old heads" (lol) if i think of things along the way, But by all means stop by and say HI
  14. Yes....but i only had to have 2 big gulps and 1 small sip this time around
  15. Hey Arlene, I will tell you my experience with the fill, It was uncomfortable (to me) A lot of burning and stinging with the numbing needle, but only for a min...I was able to watch on the monitor my band inside my stomach ( and i adored that) of course I got to drink my favorite (barium) lol....it was about a 7min process, the worst was I was filled on Thursday morning and stopped eating at 7p Wed night prior, and couldn't eat until Sunday (which was mushies) I was starving but made it through....Good Luck with yours and congrats on all of your weight loss also
