I've noticed alot of people on this board that are pretty local to my area. "keller, tx" and I was wondering if there is any kind of support group or if any of the members here ever get together for support and friendship during this journey? And if not, would anyone be interested in starting something like that up? I would really LOVE the support and to make new friends who know my plight in life. This may get zero replies.. lol. But I thought I'd throw it out there in case anyone was interested!! Nonie

Thank yall so much for these posts. As a newbie just starting out (i had my consult and my first nutrition class monday) I have read some of those posts and thought to myself (OMG! What if i do all this then hate my life worse than i do now??). I really appreciate the reassurance,

I went!! and...It went really well. My insurance requires 6 months of nutrition classes so I have my first one tomorrow. It went like this. I go in, hand in my paperwork..Fill out a form agreeing to a barium swallow. Get called back, get measured and weighed. blood pressure taken..Take the barium test which requires you to drink a few tablespoons of chalky liquid in front of a xray machine then..wa la! Meet dr. kim. He agreed with me on lap band set my nutrition appts and all done! Completely painless!!

Thanks so much yall! My appt is at 10:30 this morning and I think that Dulci; nailed it. My nervousness and anxiety is coming from being treated very badly about my weight in the past from other medical professionals So I automatically associate "dr. appt" with.. Shame and embarasssment.

Hello *waves* Im Nonster. I'm just starting to presue the lapband. I have a consult with Dr. David Kim on weds that im anxiously awaiting. Not sure what my future holds at this point as far as if or when i can get the lapband but i have faith. I have really bad sleep apnea and a fatty liver so im hoping those ailments will help expedite the process. Glad to be here!
