Today is dh's b'day, and for dinner I've made... Warning, food porn: spinach fettucini alfredo (from scratch) Ceasar salad sour dough bread and for dessert... homemade, from scratch German Chocolate Cake! (I've never done this before... it makes QUITE A LOT of frosting! mmmmmmm the best part!) This is not a figure-friendly meal!

Good morn, Vi's, Been busy around here... ds is @ another camp... dd is "bored"... and I'm trying to work while juggling it all. And so it goes! Went to the Y on Saturday! I know, right? Then TOM hit full force and so I didn't go yesterday, and don't know if I'll have time today. Wah. I need to get back to it as far as exercise is concerned! Love you all!
-
I have not.

I buy dd's colored gel hair dye @ Sally's! Last night one of my MIL's best friends called me, basically to ask "WTH is going on w/FIL"? Turns out he had sent out an e-mail last week to their friends detailing his new life, and to say that it surprised folks is an understatement! Plus, WE didn't get one, so I didn't know what she was talking about. She forwarded it to me, and it contains more info than either dh or I know. So. I'm not surprised by any of this anymore... but saddened. It feels just so disrespectful to my MIL for him to have done all this so quickly (evidently, it was within a week or so of her death). My feelings are all over the place. Wah.

We're home! That was a long trip for soccer, phew! Laundry, grocery shopping, and cleaning in my future today. A dear friend and her boys are coming to visit tomorrow... they live in NC (but ironically were at her folks' house in Northern Va while we were in NC)... we see them about 1-2x/year... so that will be fun. Need to plan a good menu and also bake! Everyone have a good day!

Driving up the hiway on trip home... I just worked for a couple hours til battery died. Now I guess I'll watch farms roll by. We're going to stop @ JMU & reminisce about our glory days... sure the kids will enjoy that, lol!

Wah we lost, but man, was it ever an excitiing game! It came down to penalty kicks, and ds stopped 3! That's amazing! It's really really hard to stop them. But, sadly, it came down to 1-and-1 and our kicker missed and we lost. Pamela! Earlier this eve, DS (& thus, me as well) came to within moments of guesting onto another soccer team to play in a tournament next weekend in SAN DIEGO! We were so so so close! But it ended up not happening... maybe next time! Am so tired from all these days of being outside in the awful heat & humidity. I don't even know how the boys kept playing at full speed... they were amazing! So I'm off to bed now. We'll meander home tomorrow... it's a 7ish hour drive, depending on stops. We're going home by way of our alma mater, so we'll drive through campus and point out all the sights to the kids... and if it's still there, have lunch at "the" place, Spanky's (as in Little Rascals, not anything pervie!). ha ha. Ok, good night, sleep tight!

We won the a.m. game & are now waiting for the 2pm game to begin. If we win this one, then we play the championship game tomorrow a.m. either way we're not heading home til tomorrow. We Hung out @ panera between games. We've been eating out for days! Yesterday was a great Greek place, then the movies, then Ben & Jerry's!! Oh my!! Have i mentioned that It's flipping hot here? And humid, Omg! It's like breathing jello! Hate it! And with that... time to get to the field! Loving the baby talk!!!

I wrote a long post yesterday, but the hotel's wonky internet connection ate it. Am at the field for the first semifinal game... if we win, we play again this afternoon, lose and we go home. We saw "despicable me" yesterday. Cute!
-
So we had a life milestone last evening. Dd started her first period! Of course we didn't have any supplies w us, so we ventured out from the hotel on quite the adventure to find a supermarket... we were silly.. we finally found one AND a Starbucks, so life was good.

M in the car cruisin down the hiway toward NC... dh is driving... it's so rare that I get to be a passenger... the car is packed to the gills... you'd think we were actually going somewhere!

From barn on my phone... Have been uber busy trying to get some work out before we leave for the soccer showcase tomorrow. It's in greensboro, NC. We'll be gone tomorrow thru Mon or tues, depending how the team does. We're all going... It's the only thing that passes for a vacation for us this summer. Pity party, right? I'm taking the laptop & work, too, so will try to check in. Pam, hell yeah you can visit next year! Woot! Janie, starting @ a new job is always stressful as u try to learn everything... hang in there! Judy, you hang in there, too! Keep visions of zipping around Disneyland in mind as you do your therapy! Haydee & Laura, ew ew ew! Ew. Last night I met my friend who I meet 1x/mo for coffee & to gab... but instead we met@ her house & enjoyed a bottle of wine & these very tasty apps that I made... baguette slices w olive oil, crisp in oven, cream chz & feta mixed together, roast garlic, sundried toms & fresh basil... o.m.g! On a weds night! I'm so wild & crazy! Ok, gotta go find dd & hit the road. Have to pick up ds & his new gf from the movies, drop her off, then home to work, launder, pack, clean, not necessarily in that order. See you from NC!
-
Hey girls, typing from soccer... I worked til the battery conked out tho! Haydee... I had the false positive & the 2nd level sono w/ dd... ugh, i'd never do that test again and if I'd known you were contemplating it I would've told you not to do it. That little niggling doubt never goes away.. it sux! Whenever you get to stressing about it, just think healthy thoughts. Soccers over... Bbl.
-
That IS a painful sentence, Pam! If you insert lots of legal terms in there, then you'll know what I do all day! bleh bleh bleh... today has been a weird, sleepy, odd day... Judy, so happy to read that you're doing so well! Hey to everyone. Gotta go think about dinner... didn't I just feed these people?
-
Laura, that's not good for you not to eat all day (duh, like you don't know that!). Maybe you should pack snacks for yourself just so you have them if you need them... like if you got stuck in traffic or something like that. That makes me nervous for baby Izzy!
-
Good Morn! I'll get my knee replaced just for the Blizzard! For the stroganoff, I used 1 regular can + a bit of water... + the s cr at the end... it was fine! Good thoughts for you today, Janie! Oh, I don't know if that's really the cal count for vodka... it was just a funny quote I saw & enjoyed! The logic works for me! I have had this pain in my side for about a week now... maybe it's my gallbladder? Bleh. I hate going to the doctor, but I'm thinking that maybe I should. Off to begin Monday! Enjoy the day, everyone.
-
Yay! I am a bad influence! Nothing doing here today... nice, quiet day. Lounging, reading the paper, surfing the Web, maybe a nap later... ahhhh...
-
"A bottle of vodka is 1500 calories. My current diet requires I eat 1500 calories a day. Coincidence? I THINK NOT!" :scared2::tt2: My fav new quote! I've had only 1/4 of a bottle so far today, so I'm doing good!! :tt2: Pammie... it's not THE women's World Cup, it's still the qualifiers for it. THE women's WC is next summer in GERMANY! Trust me. Picked up DS today... 7 hrs driving up & back... and as I figured, he was just having too much fun and learning so much and workin so hard that he didn't contact me... but he did admit that he liked getting my texts each day. Awww, gee whiz. Seriously, I've been drinking vodka Fuze's all eve... I have 1/2 a Fuze left... think I'll get into pj's & finish it off! G'night everyone!

Oh man, Haydee... being a worrier and having kids is not a good combo! I think that's when I stopped worrying and started to go with the flow, otherwise I'd have made myself and everyone around me crazy!! Perfect example: DS left for camp @ 6am on Weds and I have not heard a peep from him since. 3 days, and no calls, no texts, no nothing. Well, there was one Tweet about how camp was "hard". I text him each morning ("Have a good day. Keep cool. Drink lots of water.") & evening ("Hope your day was good. Sweet Dreams. Love you."). Imagine how crazed I'd be if I was still a worrier! But now, I figure he's busy and working hard and tired and hot at the end of the day... if anything was wrong, he or SOMEone would contact me. Voila!
-
I'm glad all that is behind you now, Judy, and you can concentrate on getting going with your new knee! :wink2: You'll be hard to keep up with in Cali!!
