Happy Rosh Hashanah! Well, my kids are 1/2 Jewish, so, Happy Rosh! :couch2: No school today... the kids are still sleeping... school makes them extra tired... I love school! :blushing: I've got my annual dermatologist app't this morn, and ds has his annual eye dr app't this afternoon, & dd would like to ride at some point today (but then again, she would like to do that every day, so that's really not news, huh). Am swamped w/work, which is good, but I never feel "done". 2 weeks 2 weeks 2 weeks 2 weeks 2 weeks 2 weeks 2 weeks!!! So excited!!

Haven't your co-workers figured out before now that you're nuts, Haydee? Weighed in today... for the month of September, I'm down 5.6 lbs! It's all about balance! Who knew? (Or else that pb spell from yesterday... if it didn't hurt so bad, I might embrace my inner anorexic!)

Important thoughts to ponder: Truths For Mature Adults 1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die. 2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong. 3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger. 4. There is great need for a sarcasm font. 5. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet? 6. Was learning cursive really necessary? 7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on # 5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood. 8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died. 9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired. 10. Bad decisions make good stories. 11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day. 12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again. 13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I did not make any changes to. 14. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call. 15. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lite than Kay. 16. I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option. 17. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger. 18. How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said? 19. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters! 20. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever. 21. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is. 22. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time! 23. The first testicular guard, the "Cup," was used in Hockey in 1874 and the first helmet was used in 1974. That means it only took 100 years for men to realize that their brain is also important.

Ditto what Judy said: Just don't get skinnier than us! Pam, I had that same thought re: the pb'ing & eating something cool/soothing, so I slowly ate a sugar-free cherry popsicle... THAT's what I pb'd into the ziploc in the car... which doesn't look good when you pb red liquid into a clear baggie, btw! I know, TMI! Lots of work to do today... everyone make it a good one!

mmmmmmmmm, that does sound good, Laura. Ok... now it's more like 6 times... wth? One was even in the car on the way to pick up DS from school! (Thank goodness for ziploc bags, which I always keep in the car!) How can I even still have anything left in there? Bleh. It hurts!

Not to gross you out, but now I've pb'd 3 separate times! I so rarely do it even once! I had no problem with the Boardwalk Fries on the beach on Sunday!

For lunch I had 4 oz of pork tenderloin & some grilled veggies (left over from dinner last night). I could eat only about 2 oz of it, & then I pb'd the little that I did eat! That's unusual for me. So much for eating "the bandster" way...

Oh my goodness! What, indeed??! Yikes! Marinate it in simple sugar? Fry it? Oh dear! Here, I looked it up on "Eat This, Not That"... doesn't sound so good... For years now we've been on Romano's case to clean up the menu at his beloved Macaroni Grill. So far we've had no luck. The fatty Italian spot serves some of the worst appetizers in the country, offers not one dinner entrée with fewer than 800 calories, and hosts no fewer than 40 menu items with more than a full day's recommended sodium intake. A select few menu items earn the restaurant's Sensible Fare logo—a fork with a halo over it—but unfortunately these items can still carry up to 640 calories and 32 grams of fat. SURVIVAL STRATEGY Thankfully Macaroni Grill will let you build your own dish. Ask for the marinara over a bed of the restaurant's whole-wheat penne, and then top it with grilled chicken and steamed vegetables Check this out for some ideas: Eat This, Not That

Mmmm, 2 percocet & a Bayer... will you share in Cali, Judy? Just back from aqua aerobics... still lovin' it! Now if I would just remember that BEFORE I go, ha ha. It's DS's first "official" soccer game of the season tonight! But it's away, AND at least one parent has to go to DD's BTS Night, so guess who's going to soccer & who gets to sit through her 15th or so BTS Night? Mmmmm, coffee.

Janie, wait til u see the ps airport... it's teensy! But I'm sure there's a spot we can hang out. Or we could hop a cab to the casino. Whatever. No worries. (((Judy Judy Judy))) you're a trooper!!! Am in the car w the whole fam-damily on the way to the beach for the day! Woke up @ 4:30!! My mom & sis are there, so that'll be fun + we have shower access, etc. We should be there by 9am... first stop will be b'fast @ the Frog House, an annual tradition. Then sun & surf & shopping & eating... we're cramming a week's worth of beach fun into one day! Everyone make it a good day!

Back from the Y. The class was good... a lot of stretching & core work, and then it ended w/ some calming ai chi. I love doing that stuff in the pool! Now I feel taller! I just tried a new food product... Siggi's Icelandic Yogurt, orange ginger flavor. Meh. It's even thicker than Greek yogurt, has 16 g pro and no artificial anything. Was expecting more flavor. I'd read about the company and when I saw it in the grocery store, I wanted to try it. Ok, off to work now.

    Shrinking violets- part 6!!!

Good morn girlies... In 3 weeks we'll be waking up in Vegas! Oh wait, that's a song. We'll be waking up in PS! I've already made a double batch of Rice Krispie Treats this morn, for the soccer team... they're leaving @ Noon for an overnight tournament this weekend. DH is taking DS & 2 other guys... DD & I will be having a girls' weekend! Off to my aqua pi-yo-chi class in an hour... am curious about it! Ew Laura, that just sounds icky. Poor Carson. We're far enough inland that we're not supposed to get any Earl rain, but the beaches are, and I'm supposed to go to the beach on Sunday to meet up w/my Sis & Mom who'll be there for the whole LD weekend. Pam, dd & I are actually into BB this summer... we wonder if Lane could be Brittany's fiance Nick? & that would be the "2 of you know each other already" reveal from earlier in the season that it seems like they all just disregarded? Judy, how did rehearsal go? Did you knee make it through? Everyone have a good day and remember: Balance!

    Shrinking violets- part 6!!!

Man Pam, I'd shape right up if you took me out into the hall for a "talkin' to"! Yikes! Don't fret... the week is almost over & then it's a 3-day weekend! Yay! It always takes some time to get adjusted to a new school year (like 180 days, ha ha!). DD got his learner's permit! And then I had one of "those" moments where I get caught short by thinking, "MIL's going to love hearing about this!"... like I've forgotten, like everything's the way it's supposed to be... and then it hits me... wah. That's the worst... those little "sneak" attacks of grief. BUT... that said, I must mention that I am *cautiously* feeling as though things are more back to normal than they've been since January... and that is saying something! I don't want to jinx it by thinking it, but I do want to recognize it and be appreciative of it if it's true. My mantra is "balance" and I've gathered several photos to help me visualize that. I especially love this one: I feel like it represents how I'm feeling at just about any given moment... balancing different loads but somehow managing to make it all work. And with that... it's off & running for the day! Everyone make it a good one -- I love each of you!

Hello from the barn... Fall leasing has begun, so now I'll be here 4-5/x week again til next summer... there's no leasing in the summer cuz of camps. Well, ds will have to pay his own insurance, and it'll be awhile -- a year at least -- til he gets his own car... except I am pricing his dream vehicle (ragtop Jeep Wrangler) just to have an idea... I'm such a sucker! I can't wait for the trip! Did I tell you that I'm going to buy the biggest tub of salsa that I can find & put a bow on it with a note to enjoy it & not call me about that or any food! Ha ha.

Janie, I don't know what to say, because I'm in the same boat... a low-riding boat, lol!... But, I figure it's not over as long as I keep trying and don't give up hope... so keep trying! Don't give up hope! ((Janie))

Am going to my first aqua aerobics class of the session this morning! Oddly, I am looking forward to it! Then, it's another of life's milestones this afternoon -- I'm taking ds to get his driver's learner's permit! :cursing: How is that possible? I swear I could turn around right now and he'd be standing there at age 4 in his dinosaur pj's w/his cowboy hat & boots on, grinning his big toothy grin... Or when I read about Laura & Haydee getting the rooms ready... seriously, that seems like it was me a week ago! Time is SO WEIRD! Life is so bittersweet.

Hey girls... checking in from the eye docs, waiting for dd to get her new lenses put into her frames... poor thing has bifocals. Judy, sorry to read you had a tough day :cursing: Yes haydee, first-time moms are like that. I remember a friend of mine laughed & laughed at me when I hung up each little outfit in the closet... she kept saying that i'd be cramming them in a drawer if they ever made it out of the laundry basket & boy was she right! Good memories. Sorry your back is bothering you, Laura! How'd the first day go, Pam?? Are you getting used to the 2-job routine, janie?
