Good Monday Morn, Vi's~~ Yep, I'm back on the wagon w/you all today... poor wagon, I'm surprised it doesn't buckle under all my weight!! How is it that I'm so super-duper "on" for a couple weeks, then super-duper "off" for a few weeks?? UGH! This why I keep bouncing these rickin' frickin' 10 lbs... waa waa waa. Well, today begins "on" again... maybe this time it will stick!! "Egg or No Egg" -- I'm sure I've explained this before... it's like "Deal or No Deal" but w/plastic eggs. About 4 years ago when all the kids got too old to enjoy hunting for Easter eggs & getting more candy, we came up w/this game. Each year a different family is the "banker" & finances it... this year it was us. So you number 12 plastic eggs 1 - 12, and also make up 12 slips of paper with different amounts on them: .01, .05, .10, .25, .50, .75, $1, $3, $5, $10, $15, $20. Randomly place a slip of paper into each egg. Put the eggs in an egg carton. Make up a piece of paper w/the amounts on them (1 for each player), so you can check it off as the game progresses, and so the banker can mark the offers. Play the game: The "contestant" chooses "their" egg. It's put to the side. Then the contestant chooses 4 eggs, 1 at a time. We reveal the contents of the egg, mark off the paper, & then the banker makes an offer. The contestant has to decide "egg" (take their egg) or "no egg" (the want to keep playing). Then the contestant picks 3 eggs... banker makes an offer... "egg or no egg"... if no egg, then the contestant picks 2 eggs... repeat... then 1 egg... repeat... then if it's no egg, the contestant decides if they want to keep their original egg or trade w/the one left... and viola! It's hilarious & so much fun... we laugh & use all the funny terms from the game... like, the host will say, "and we'll find out what's in the egg... right after I get another beer!" lol... everyone gets into it so it really is fun for all ages. Who doesn't like the chance to win $20?? Gotta dash... taking dd to "pony cleanup" day @ the barn... & yet she won't clean her room... hmmmmm...

It just took me 2 hours to peel 8lbs of steamed, spiced shrimp for tomorrow! Good thing "The 10 Commandments" was on! My fingers got pruney and now my hands are all itchy & even though I've scrubbed & scrubbed w/every kind of soap we own, my hands still smell shrimpy. I know, I'm such a delicate flower -- hardy har har!! Baskets are stuffed, gifts wrapped, "Egg or No Egg" prepped... time for bed & visions of chocolate to dance in my head! G'night my sweet peeps!

Good Eve, Vi's... We're home... a quick 2.5 hr drive w/the kiddos... ds plugged in his iPod and we literally sang our whole way home... fun! Ironically, I spent Good Friday w/my Jewish in-laws eating lox & bagels and potato knishes... mmmmm... and shopping... I bought myself a new crockpot... I'll have to try Terry's pepperonici beef soon! G'night all... sleep tight...

Yo from New Joisey! We're here... I'm on my FIL's left-handed computer... weird! It's only a 2 1/2 hr drive from here to there... or there to here... depending on which way you're going, lol! So not bad. The kids & I enjoy the time chatting, singing, etc. Have done nothing since arriving -- LOVE THAT! This is just about the only spot on earth where I have that feeling... I am not responsible for ANYthing... I can do NOTHing w/out feeling guilty... I sit & read my MIL's million mags & nap & nosh... quite lovely! You'd think I'd come up here more often, huh? LOL! But our schedules are so busy that it's hard to fit it in... She loved her iPod & ds has it all set up for her now... good kid! I've pb'd lunch AND dinner today... weird. I haven't done that in MONTHS. Maybe my fill has finally kicked in?? I doubt it... probably just eating too much too fast... it was steak tonight... Am going to get into my pj's & sip some tea... g'night Vi's!

Happy Eastertime -- this one cracks me up every year:

I'd keep it bland, TracyK... van pro shakes, little bits of banana, lots of h20... no citrus or coffee or tomato-based anything... give it a day or so to calm down...

Good Morn, Today starts Spring Break for the kids. Today we'll be cleaning/decorating/errands... tomorrow - Fri we're going to NJ to visit dh's folks... then we'll be home late Fri eve. TOM is kicking my a$$ this month! owie. TracyK... please tell me that the $1 goes to a good cause... not the teacher's happy hour fund! Judy... Gorgeous pics!! Oh, and now that I'm booked to visit you, we keep hearing "Palm Springs" all over the place on TV... last night on the Mentalist an actress went to a spa there & my ds was all "isn't that where you're going?" and I just smiled a cat-that-ate-the-canary smile! WHY YES IT IS!! Terri... how sweet of your aunt... whatever the amount... ENJOY it! How's it going, Laura? All operators are standing by to spread any news you may have! Make it a good day!

Good Morning, Girlies~~ I posted last night *exactly* at the moment they brought down the site for maintenance! LOL! I wrote... Yay! Haydee and I are road tripping it to Cali in May! We're going to represent the Vi's @ Dr. Jazzy Bradford's big shindig!! We jet in on Fri., May 29, play & party @ Cyd's house, recoup, then zip home on Monday. We get to sleep in Pammy's big closet! & meet Susanne! & Klausie! & all their friends!! Can you tell I am excited?! TODAY... is my 22nd wedding anniversary! :scared2: How is THAT possible? 22 years! Oh my. We've got lots of kid stuff to do, naturally... but we'll go to dinner tonight. & I made & cut out 22 hearts & put them all over the house for him to find... on the tv remote, coffee machine, light switch, etc... + gave him a 56 oz bag of pnut m&ms... he bought himself a new Fuji roadbike yesterday (his old one had a crack in the frame). He gave me premium m&ms, SB choc covered coffee beans, & a SB card! He knows me! It's finally a sunny day here today!! Enjoy the weekend!!

Good Morn, Vi's~~ Ugh. Had PTA meeting last night and the "transition period" for me from 10 years of heavy-duty PTA'ing, investing my heart & soul into it, is beginning... & it turns out that I don't like it! Surprise! Up 'til now I've been so cavalier about it, but now the "up & comers" are starting to take over & plot & plan (& naturally so, I understand mentally) -- & pick apart things I've spent a decade creating & building up & they just stand there @ the end of the meeting whispering and every so often I could here "...Michelle...Michelle..." and I call over, "I can hear you, you know!" lols all around but I was a bit put out! You think they'd USE my knowledge and actually ask me to find out why we do things certain ways -- there's usually a reason, it's not random! Ugh. I was ok on a higher-level, "what do I care" in general kind of way until this a.m. when I heard they were ripping the newsletter, which is my baby! -- that hurt. Sigh. I guess this is just how it is & was & will be in the cycle of such organizations... It's just hitting me harder than I thought it would... I really thought I was thrilled to be done with it! So I'm pensive. On that note... it's work, work, work today!! I have to submit 20 chapters to my editor. Make it a good one!

TracyKS -- I see you lurking down there... come out come out wherever you are!!
-
EXACTLY -- that's what I said earlier! It's like she had on her agenda to talk about sleep deprivation (which trust me, I do NOT have) and no matter what I'd said leading in to that, it didn't matter, she had her talking points! It's like when the Prez is asked a question -- he never answers it directly, just repeats his talking points. He did it this afternoon in his press conf from England -- SOOOO frustrating!! Like I said, live & learn & have some new experiences along the way! It's all good! Pammy -- Take mega meds & go rock out w/Melissa!!! I LOVE her!

Haydee -- Have you purchased you-know-what today???

Here's the link to the vid online: Today Show Video Player

Laura... that must be their evil plan... "invite" regular folk to be on the show & then they get all their friends to watch it so their ratings stay up! LOL!! I've already gotten a call from an old friend who I haven't seen/heard from in about 2 years (pre-band!) who saw me... she said she heard my voice & knew it was me! lol! So that's one good thing... reconnecting.

Ok... Well THAT wasn't what I thought it'd be like!! Disclaimer: I am not a big fuzzy blur -- really! Here's how it went: They called me on skype around 8:30am. I'm all dolled up and wearing my precious Vi necklace that Terri made me (I'm not sure you can tell that in the video). We test sound, etc. Then they tell me that on skype, you see the person's mouth moving before you hear the words (or vice versa, I don't remember), so I should keep my question as short as possible. Uh, hello? You had me memorize a 4-sentence blurb and that's what I'm prepared to do! Yikes. So I sit there for 1/2 an hour and then they come back & say it'll be a little after 9am and that I should just nod & smile whenever I'm not speaking. Now, I have to turn off my monitor so the glare doesn't reflect in my glasses, and also so I'm not tempted to look down at the screen -- I have to look only in the camera. So the segment starts and they read an e-mail question from some other gal (& I'm sitting here wishing I'd gotten that option!) and it's basically MY question! WTF? So the doc talks & then they intro me, I say my blurb, & the doc answers a totally different question -- she doesn't ever actually answer my question -- she goes on about "I bet she's sleep deprived, and sleep is important, blah dee blah..." -- I specifically told them earlier in the week that that wasn't an issue at all for me!! -- but I sit & smile & nod, the end. So I bolt to my dvr & rewind & watch it and -- ACK!! I'm a giant blurry woman!! It's horrible!! Really, if you haven't seen it, don't bother!! The Mickey's are clearer than I am! Maybe I should've sat up on the top of the filing cabinet!! Well, another interesting brush w/the media (remind me to tell you about the USA Today panel I was on for years... talk about mis-quoting someone!). Back to reality... at least I'm crisp & clean in the "real world"!
