Hey girlies... AGH! Just got back from the BIG PTA meeting & damn if the principal (who I haven't seen since that huge meeting w/her where she was so mad at me back in April) didn't try to throw me under the bus & make all this confusion MY fault!! Well, she TRIED... but it absolutely didn't work because, well, NONE of it is my fault and the County & State back me up 100% PLUS the fact that this was not a "fault-finding" meeting but a "what do YOU (as in next year's folks) need to do to operate a "clean" election" meeting & making sure everyone was on the same page... I keep vacillating between being FURIOUS and thinking of my mantra, "WHAT THE HELL DO I CARE?" (about whatever they decide to do about next year when I will be GONE!). It's true... no good deed goes unpunished! 2 weeks. 2 weeks 'til the election, I tender my resignation effective 6/30 & then I am DONE!! See, that's the mad part. Then I think, "I'm so sad that my 10 years of good work & blood, sweat & tears had to end this way" and I get sad. Mad! Sad! Mad! Sad! THIS SUX!! Stupid ungrateful people. Mean people suck.

LOL! Maybe it's the one where it's two gangs of fatties fighting over the love of a big juicy burger!

Didn't Bree do that on "Desperate Housewives"? (dump her teenager on the side of the road.) I'm sure it's an option MANY would like to have! TracyK, I second what Judy & Terry said... just keep doing the right thing no matter what the scale says... in fact, you know you should put it away for awhile, right?? & just focus on how great you feel, mentally & physically. Today's the "big" PTA meeting going over the "rules" for the election. Another new person removed her name from consideration for a board position last night... cheeses me off, but what can I do? I am trying to stay in my "zen" place about it: "What the !@#$ do I care?" LOL! It works... SOMEtimes. Other than that (ha!), it's a regular day. Make it a great one, everyone!

Terry! It's 9pm here now -- get thee into some healing waters!!
-
Bwah ha ha!! I believe it is an olden-day term for simply "sitting in fancy water"... if they call it that, they can charge more? Olden-day folk would "take the waters" for health & cleansing. In his book Taking the Waters Alev Lytle Croutier writes, “Taking the waters was a means of unleashing creative urges for painters, writers and composers. The potent fountains became projections of health, beauty, and prosperity, but more than anything, sex.” The very word “spa” is the acronym from the Roman “Sanitas Per Aquas,” meaning health through water. That’s why, even today, many say you really can’t have a spa without water. However, “taking the waters,” in most modern American spas cannot depend on the near mystical quality of the water itself, as it does in Vichy or Baden-Baden. Most modern spa wet rooms use water straight from the tap. The challenge for the spa developer then becomes how to honor the unspoken promise of healing spa waters some other way.

Oh yeah, I'm taking the waters & not giving them back!! Maybe that would be a nice, relaxing activity for Sunday, after the revelry of Saturday...? Congrats on the raise! Congrats on the good eating!! I'm doing well on the eating today, too! (Of course, the thought that I'll be in a bathing suit in 10 days is doing WONDERS for keeping me on plan today! lol!)

I have a calculator and I'm not afraid to use it! Hi Jenn!

Don't worry, Judy... WE'll worship with you -- the inventor of margaritas, that is! :crying: Is that not what you had in mind??

Even I have been to rodeos -- yes, plural! -- before! Every summer when I was growing up we visited my grandmother in Florida & went to one that was always in town when we went. Of course, this was all before I was age 12, so I didn't notice the cowboys... just the horses... I was horse crazy back then! YES, I want to see your vid, Pamela! Maybe I can see it IN 10 DAYS!!!!!! :purplebananna: Yes, the final countdown is ON!! Have I mentioned that I can NOT wait??!! I'm like a little kid waiting for Christmas!! DS's neck was much improved this a.m... still a bit stiff/sore, but not at all like yesterday. So strange! Regular day today... make it a good one, everyone!

I made italian mini meatloaves w/mashed potatoes & green beans! It's a meatloaf night, I guess! Scones can be a bit dry... but I do enjoy choc chip or cinnamon chip ones! mmm PTA CAN be entertaining... I'm just sad that my 10 years w/this one is ending on this note... & causing me such time & distress... bleh. Had a good eating day today .. yay! As you may remember (who can forget?!) I'm going to a BIG shindig in fewer than 2 weeks so I'm motivated to BE GOOD and eat well so I can look my best for the soiree & the lovely hostess w/the mostest!! Enjoy the eve... some entertaining season finales on tonight...

Back from the doc's... DS's neck is just muscle-related... glad it's not more... but I did have to scold him for using "F!@#" as an expeltive in the Pediatrician's (read: little kids all over the place!) office as he was yelping in pain!! Oh my! So heat, Motrin, & evidently meat lover's pizza is the prescription -- oh, & a movie out of RedBox. Am I a good mom or what?

Good question, Terry. Actually, ours has been relatively drama-free for quite awhile now. I keep asking, "where was all this interest in the Prez position LAST year when NO ONE would do it and they BEGGED me to do it?" What a difference a year makes! In this case, I think it's that the gals who are stirring up the controversy (trying to block one guy while "fudging" the rules to get another gal into the 1-year vacancy I'll leave in June) simply don't have much else in their little small-town lives and it's actually a big deal to them + they have the time to plot & plan... one gal likened it to "Survivor"! They lose sight of the purpose of the PTA -- to serve the kids -- & get their egos all wound up in it. So now people think the PTA is corrupt and it's my job to make sure it's not, thus the County & State are involved... yadda yadda... I am not emotionally involved in all this, but it does take a time & emotional toll on me... my goal is to make sure that the organization is following the rules... period... I'm neither "for" nor "against" anyone who's trying to run... in fact, I'm not even going to vote as I won't be a parent @ the school next year so I don't think it's right for me to vote on their Board... of course, as Prez, if there's a tie, then I'll be the one to break it (which would *not* be fun!)... and so it goes...

Good Monday morning, Vi's~~ A new week... wonder what it holds? DS woke up w/his neck in excruciating pain this a.m.... he can't move it at all or it hurts... he didn't DO anything to it this weekend... so @ 8 I'll call the doc... Weds night is the first of two "BIG" PTA meetings left this year... this one is w/the County PTA Prez to deal w/all the BS that's been going on w/the Nom committee, etc & so forth trust me you don't want to know the dramatic details... bleh. After that it's June 4, when the new Board is elected & I RESIGN!!! Other than that... it looks to be a fairly straightforward, regular week... hope it turns out that way! Make it a good one!

I think I'm supposed to be "coordinating" groceries/food... lol... so thanks janie for getting the ball rolling & thinking about the most important items: coffee, liquor & chips!! :scared2: I will get on the ball here shortly & come up w/some master list or a Terry-like google master list that folks can add to... I'm thinking that Terry's idea of a different duo being responsible for cooking one eve is a good idea... I call Judy (if I can't sleep w/her, then gosh darnit I'll cook w/her!!)... If anyone has thoughts about this please share!!

Hey Girlies... Had a fun day yesterday... the concert was great and we really enjoyed ourselves... even the not getting home 'til 2:30am part! -- & then having to be up & out by 9 this a.m.... phew!... I am too old for THAT on a regular basis! ((Terry!)) Enjoy the evening...
-
Y'know what? I'm going to bring a map of the USA with me to our gathering & we can all show where we live & then I think we'll all be a bit clearer on this stuff! Cuz' I know I'm always confused that TracyKS & Suzie & you are closer together than I think you should be, etc... thanks for the idea, Jane!

Good Friday Morning, Vi's!~~ The kids have a 2-hour late opening for school today... and then @ Noon I leave w/my friend for the Springsteen concert! It's at an OUTdoor arena in Hershey, PA (yes, the CHOCOLATE Hershey, PA :tt1:) & that's an easy 1.5 hrs drive from here (basically, we drive straight! ha!). We're going up early, will grab some lunch, hit the World of Choc museum/tour/store, then tailgate a bit, then head to the concert! Yay! The only "cloud" over all this is, literally, clouds & the forecast of storms for this evening! Yikes! So I'm just going to wear clothes I don't care about getting soaked in + a couple plastic ponchos & a GREAT attitude! Everyone have a "ROCKIN'" day!!!
-
Yes, Yes, Yes! 2 weeks from today = packing! However, I do NOT wear shorts! Even in 105 degrees! Really, no one needs to see my legs -- trust me!! So it's skirts & capris for me! + I bought a cute flowy maxi dress for the party!!
-
Good Morn, Yes I am going! Sheesh! Be away from the computer for one afternoon & look what happens! You think I'm THAT easy to shake? ha ha ha ha ha! Yes, Springsteen is my #1 all-time fav rocker, so it's a big honkin' deal that she asked me to go! So psyched! Just putting one foot in front of the other today... & every day... to keep from getting overwhelmed w/the end-of-year crud... 3 weeks from tonight will be the elections (cross your fingers!) and then I will resign & be DONE!! 3 weeks... just 3 little ol' weeks... I can do it! Make it a good day, everyone!
