Hey Vs... I pop in & read then go away... not very nice of me, I know... but I'm still in a funk & don't want to "infect" any of you nice folks w/my grumpy disease! I'm in a bad place mentally... remember last month when I lost, what, 10 lbs in 2 weeks & I was flying high? Well now I'm in the drop, which I knew would come... sigh. Am in that spot where the evil voice in my head is saying that this, too, won't work for me, and I'm destined to be a "fatty mcfat fat" for all my days. Told you I'm a downer! Sorry!

Hi all, Just call me Mrs. Grumpity Grump Grump today. I'm *still* UP 4 lbs for the month... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I know I've been a bit slack, but not THAT much for THIS long! So altho I pout & gripe, I also PLAN for improvement, and this is what I think I need to do: *Shakes am & pm, "sensible" mid-day meal (today was romaine w/rotis. chick pieces, lo-fat feta, 4 olives & a t of sunflower seeds w/dressing) & water (I've definitely slacked off on the water). *Exercise. (duh) I did really well w/the walking in June, but it fizzled in July-now. So far this week I've done the eliptical & my aqua p class. Will either walk or do the eliptical again 2 more times this week. Also for the Fall, I'm signing up for the aqua p class again, PLUS 2 1-hr aqua aerobics classes each week! *Another fill on 8/31. I had wanted to be at -50 by the end of Aug... HA!... at this rate I'll be happy (well, not really) to be back at -40. Did I mention: grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Everyoone else is doing great & looking fab-u! You go girls!

Good morning, Violets~~ This week is way crazy busy so I won't be able to hang out here as much as usual but don't worry I'm still alive & kickin'! Yesterday I did 20 mins on the eliptical! Yay me! Today I think I'll go learn my friend's weight machine. I have got to jumpstart my stalled weight loss... it's driving me INSANE! I'm really down about it. It's amazing what a -1 lb can do for my attitude/energy level... and what a +1 does to kill it. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr. Kat: You look fantastic! Wow! What an accomplishment!! Make it a great day, everyone!

Hey everyone! I'm back from the beach! Yay! What a scorcher it was -- phew! It was so hot I actually went into the water & bobbed around w/the kids... I rarely do that, as I hate the murky green water that all the fish pee & poop in... bleh... plus I hate, hate, hate it if I get knocked down by a wave, so it can take me ages just to get in & out! I did fine every day except yesterday... on the way out I got slammed! and tumbled tits over ass the whole way in to shore (a lovely visual for those poor folks sitting right at the edge, I'm sure!)... then I was trying to get up & I got slammed 3 more times -- frontwards/backwards, you name it! I FINALLY got my fat butt up off the sand... I seriously thought a life guard was going to have to come down off her perch & help me up! And my pain was not just emotional/humiliation... I wrenched some muscles in my abdomen & my port area has been feeling funny ever since... I can feel if & it's uncomfortable... man I hope I didn't do any real damage. I didn't eat tons as I got stuck several times, but I'm up 5 lbs today, but I think it's mostly water retention & heat, as I'm swelled up like a balloon... lovely. I've got thru & caught up on posts, but can't begin to type personals on it all now... will jump back into the fray tomorrow... g'nite!

Grrrrrrrrr... damm thing just ate my post! Nutshell version: Had to take DH to the ER @ 6am -- long story short, he is passing kidney stones, poor guy! Am leaving for the beach tomorrow a.m.... will be back on Sat... will check in if I can... everyone be well & do well. Laura where are you? Waiting to hear you're update! Grrrrrrrrrrrr...

I DO think it has a powerful psychological effect on me... hhhmmmmmmmmmmmmm... My goal is still -50 by the end of Aug... OH -- speaking of TEMPTED... did I tell you that the ice cream for that ice cream party for 100 that I won arrived yesterday???????? 12 tubs of Edy's ice cream (Dryer's for those on the West Coast)... each one a different delicious flavor... all sitting in my freezer waiting until the 19th for the party! I actually covered them up w/a dish towel so we wouldn't actually "see" them when we open the freezer... out of sight, out of mind... if all 12 tubs make it to the 19th, it'll be a miracle! You are a much braver woman than I, Tracy! I called my doc this afternoon & got a cancellation appointment for a 2nd fill tomorrow morning! Good timing! I can definitely eat TOO MUCH & am not losing... they will not send me away w/out a fill tomorrow like they did a week and a half ago! No way, jose! Well, Fall is here. I know the calendar says "Aug. 1", but today the kids' Fall activities began... and my life outside my car ended. Each kid does only 2 activities, but even so, the way it's looking now, I will be driving someone, somewhere, EVERY day this Fall... EVERY... DAY... MTWTHFSS... and sometimes 2 or 3 the same day. Phew! I always say that my "work" day begins @ 3pm when school lets out... & it's true! I'm sure it will all work out, it always does... Sleep tight, everyone!

Hey Gals... I'm in a bad mood... I got a speeding ticket on the road in front of my house that I drive on umpteen times a day! Uh, hello?? I live on the TOP of a steep hill, and if that crazy cop who was just sitting there at the BOTTOM of the hill thinks that it's reasonable to expect folks to drive 20 measly mph DOWN the hill he's coo-coo!! 'Rickin' frickin' speed trap! Can he be any MORE obvious that he's trying to make his quota at 4:30pm on the 31st of the month by sitting at the bottom of a very small neighborhood's biggest hill? What a jerk!! I am seriously considering arguing it, but don't want to make a fool of myself w/my only "defense" being: "I was driving down a hill" it sounds kind of stupid but it's true! You can't even drive UP the hill @ 20mph! You definitely can't go DOWN it @ 20! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Why the he11 wasn't he actually on the busy road through town where everyone is passing & speeding & where at least 1 person dies every 6 months or so... actually doing some GOOD??? I am so mad! (PS... this is only my 2nd ticket in my entire driving life... the first one was a "fair catch" on the highway & didn't make me mad... but THIS ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Hey Tracy... I think I should've done that food loading thing last week, then maybe they'd have filled me! Good thinking! I went to the nutritionist on Friday and it wasn't really all that productive... she just kept telling me I was the "perfect lap band patient", blah blah... and I was honest! I told her I ate pizza & fruit (we're not supposed to have it for a year!) & other no-no's occassionally... but she still just kept smiling & saying I was doing great. She did clear up a few issues, like calorie range & drinking w/meals & fruit, etc... She *did* agree that I could use another small fill, so I'm going to call tomorrow & see if I can get in either Tues, Weds., or Thurs... I can't go later than that because we go to the beach the following Tues, and while I don't want to be able to eat as much as I can now, I also don't want to be on liquids or mushies while there... so if I can't get in by Thurs., then it has to wait 'til the week of the 13th. So cross your fingers for me! Caught sight of a reflection of myself in a shop window yesterday & I looked HUGE! Not good. I know I'm doing great & all, but it was just a shock to realize that I still look like a big piggie to the world. Bummer.

Hey Kat, a question about riding... what weight would you suggest is appropriate for someone to ride? My dd has been riding for 3 years and we're switching stables & my friend thinks that WE (she & I) should take "Mom" lessons. I love horses and always wanted to learn to ride when I was a kid, but we didn't live in a horse area + didn't have the money. It never even occurred to me that I could ride NOW -- duh! -- but now that she has mentioned it, I keep thinking about it. But I don't know cuz' of my weight... so... what would you suggest? I don't want to hurt the horse or embarrass myself by suggesting it when I'm too big still!

TOM is here... grrrrr... + I have to finish an editing job today + do laundry, etc... not much exciting but that's ok... sometimes it's nice to have a "boring" day. Make it a great one, everyone!

Good Thursday Morning, Violets!~~ Hope this post posts today... man I was peeved yesterday when that post evaporated into the ozone! Not much to report... still going down & enjoying it!... scale read 277.6 today!... AND I'm expecting TOM to arrive on Saturday, so I can't figure how I'm still going down this week & not up... hmmmmmmmmmm... well, I won't look a gift horse in the mouth! (who made up that crazy saying, anyway??) Tracy, your rings are beautiful... I'm so excited for you! Ms Jen, Congrats on the meds! My docs told me to come back at -50 & we'd check med levels then. Adorable, Fantastic NSV! You go girl! Jenn, I agree w/Tracy... be gentle w/yourself... your bod has been going through a lot, physically & emotionally/stress-wise, and it's probably just catching up, levelling out, taking a break -- whatever you want to call it... keep on doing the right things & it'll pay off!
