The US was ROBBED in the game w/Slovenia today! That call was utter rubbish! Still no one knows what the call actually was! Outrageous! Oh dear... our World Cup fever has turned into a plague!!

Hello from poolside! It's a gorgeous sunny day here. I worked all a.m. and my reward was finally our first visit to the pool, where I've spent 3 hours reading for pleasure while soaking in the sun. Bliss.

Ok, typing on my phone... major life milestone happening here... I'm at the bowling alley w dd, who is on her very first "date"... well, GROUP date...oh to be 12 years old again! So cute. Bittersweet for moi, tho.

Rainy here, too, this a.m. DH works from home on Wednesdays, so he & ds are watching the first WC game of the day... Chile v Honduras I think. This keeps up every day for a month! When I tried to post yesterday, it bombed my whole computer... but now I don't remember what I wanted to respond to. Laura, your stories suck! One of my biggest fears is a flat tire on the highway... I'd be useless. Poor Carson. Poor Mommy & Daddy, too. & yes, docs offices suck, too. Bleh. Tell Bob he's got our purple power w/him today!! Piece of cake, erm, I mean, uh... oh what the hell, cake. I know -- 3 Musketeers! ha ha. Got your e-mail, Janie. See, I'm not totally crazy! It IS odd, I think. Ok... time to go pour a cup o' joe and hit the books. Everyone have a great day!

Ok, now I know it's summer... just got done playing a few rounds of some PS3 racing game w/the kids... something I haven't done in years, it seems... it was SO funny!... I couldn't drive straight to save my life!... then I'd get stuck in a fence... we were laughing and laughing! This is what I'm doing when I should be working! Ay yai ayi!! So anyhoo, regular day here... we want to go to the pool this afternoon for the first time, but the sky is grey and rain is forecast, so we'll have to play it by ear. Everyone make it a great day! Play a game -- it's fun!

I bet the performance was just beautiful, Judy... did anyone video it? You sound busy busy busy! Hope you get time to float in your pool soon! So today is the first day of summer vacation! We actually didn't sleep in all that much... but we do need to come up w/a routine, so I can get in some work each day, + chores, + whatever else, like going to the pool. I'd like to add in going to the Y on a regular basis, too. Right now the WC is on... those dang vuvuzelas sound like angry bees buzzing... a month of that sound? ack! Everyone have a good Monday!

All went well overnight... awoke this a.m. to a happily rumpled room full of snoring teens... they're really good guys, and we enjoy when they hang out here... a good time was had by all. Have been just lazing around all day on the couch... snooze, read the paper, watch some soccer, snooze, eat something, and repeat! Germany v. Australia's on right now! Janie, hope you did well! Pam, sounds like a fun night! & a fun day, today! I miss all that great little-kid stuff. & if you're working on a book, then I'm your editor! Judy, I'm glad that things are working out for your church. When is the garden walk?? Soon? Hi Laura & Haydee... TTFN!

Whew, what a day! Fun, but still, whew! Am tuckered out & will got to bed soon... just need to review the groundrules w/the all-night gamers (keep it to a low roar, stay inside, eat whatever you want, have fun!)... they're streaming it live on Ustream, lol! 1-1 tie w/ England... well, not a loss... not a win, but not a loss... I think I drank 6 Mike's variety hard lemonades today! DS has to ref tomorrow morning! Good luck to him with that after being up all night!! Enjoy your Sundays!! Smooches!

I am here... pooped out from cleaning top to bottom today... sort of a mini-spring cleaning... ds is pooped out, too, so you KNOW we were cleaning like crazy! Judy... wow... he had no idea? Wow. Now will you stay or retire later in the month? I'm off to get into jammies and chillax... am up early tomorrow to get the party food, final touch-ups, etc.... GO USA!! Ole... ole ole ole... ole... ole!!

Today is the last day of school! Ta Da! Basically yearbook signing all morning, followed by pizza party, followed by 2-hr early dismissal. It's also super duper clean the whole house top to bottom day for the party tomorrow... + outside areas... + go to Sam's Club for party food items... + FIL is arriving at Noon for the weekend! That one's a bit of a surprise! Will see how it goes... still a lot of hurt, confused feelings going on... bleh. Then it's the big World Cup US match party tomorrow! & after, a few of ds's soccer team buddies are spending the night to have a "FIFA" ps3 all-night gamer party... always fun... they're good guys. Lots of pizza, soda and cinnamon buns will be consumed. Then Sunday = clean again! & maybe the first dip in the pool of the season. Then Monday I think we're all going to celebrate the first official day of summer vacation by sleeping in! So a full weekend in store for us... everyone enjoy theirs... go USA!! Seriously... this band is exactly like that Saturday night live skit w will farrell & that gal who played the electric piano... exactly!! So funny.

At the town firemen's carnival... sipping real lemonade and listening to some old tune country band... dd is riding the "hurl a whirl" as I call it + other rides... this is certainly small town living!

Ha! You can run, but you can't hide!! I found you!! :tongue2: Busy w/last week of school stuff (picnics, meet the coaches night, baking for teachers, thank you notes & gifts) + work + regular stuff, + getting ready for Sat's party... phew! Loved last night's Glee! That version of "Over the Rainbow" is one of my all-time fav songs. Have a great day!

Oh my goodness -- what great news, Laura! A Valentine's baby!! It's going to take Judy all day each day to count down everything going on around here... 2 babies, the Cali trip, her knee surgery... ay yai yai!!

"But why?" Good point! I keep telling myself "after the next 50 pages"... but then I get on a roll and don't want to stop! (With almost 700 pages of Internal Revenue Code to read, I need all the momentum I can get!) I do have to leave the house by 2:30pm to deliver baked goods to the MS for "Just Desserts" day tomorrow... then, OF COURSE, both kids have eve activities... so... at SOME point I'll have to becoming socially presentable!

But now I've moved back into the office... the "cool breeze" picked up to a pretty constant one that blew my papers all over the patio! And really, it's noon now... I should go get out of these pj's and shower... I should...

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwww! I enjoyed several "work for myself" perks this morning... making $ while outside, at the patio table, on a gorgeous morning with a cool breeze, tweeting birds, a steaming cup of joe, catching a few rays while still in my pj's!

This is my horoscope for today. Hmmm, maybe this explains how my year's been going... "shifting universal energies" at work!: Shifting universal energies lead to corresponding changes in your life. Yay Haydee!! So excited for you! But you know that!! :thumbup: Sing pretty today, Judy! Then the countdown is on for YOU! Hi Janie, Pam, Laura! DH had to work yesterday, and was so wrung out at the end of the day, that he just came home and crashed. He woke up early this morn and took off for his dad's... 2.5 hr drive... when I woke up I called him & he was almost there. We don't know what to expect. Poor dd, she is so upset by the whole thing... she doesn't understand what's going on... join the club! I think today's going to be a quiet, hang out & do stuff around the house kind of day. It's grey & hot. We have NO scheduled activities! :w00t: This is the last week of school! We're throwing a big "USA v. England World Cup Viewing Party" next Saturday. (Ya'll know World Cup starts on Friday, right? And you have your dvr's set to record every moment, right? And you talk about it all the time, right? And Judy has a personal, home countdown going for it, right? No? Well, must be just my house, then! My boys are World Cup CrAzY!!!) 4 years ago they travelled to Germany and went to several games of it. Anyhoo, the party is next week... will mostly be the HS varsity soccer players & some adults... should be fun. Yesterday I purchased one of each of the US jerseys for DH & DS... I'm going to surprise them with them this week one morning. Wow I'm chatty this morn! Ok... off to make coffee and get comfy on the couch for the Sun Morn show! Enjoy your days!!

I'm sure you rocked it, Pam. Yay that it's behind you now!! I agree about the oil spill... stop pointing fingers and get going working on it already! I can't handle the oily bird pics/vids. And what are those watermen and others who've lived on the gulf for generations going to do? Everything they know is gone... possibly forever. Heartbreaking. I also feel sorry for that English guy who's the head of BP... he looks shellshocked. I wish we lived closer as well... I'd be there. xoxoxo

It figures, with the way things are going this year... no pool today. :thumbup: There were about 8 of us waiting for it to open... but no guards ever showed! We called the office... & after an hour were told that it wouldn't be open at all today. Sigh. Tonight is the National Spelling Bee! Love that! I loved that movie, Akelah and the Bee, too. I think I'm going to get comfy in front of the tv w/my laptop... I want to make a summer reading list / start requesting books from the library for poolside (SOMEday) reading. Start out EARLY tomorrow w/ running kids around to activities... ds is ref'ing all day @ a tournament about 45 mins away, and dd works @ the barn 9 - 3... dh has to go in to work, and then he may go up to see his dad. We haven't spoken w/him since the big blowup on Monday night (did I tell ya'll about that? ugh.). Anyhoo... busy day. I'm tired just thinking about it! Everyone make it a fun weekend... Love you!
