Has anyone been re-sleeved? I was sleeved 06/29/10. My highest weight was 343 and I dropped to 211 in less than a year. Unfortunately, after that year my weight started to creep back slowly. First 20 pounds, then 30....now I'm back up to 272 pounds!! I always told myself that I would never go back to where I came and from and look where I am. I spoke to the Bariatric center here in Charlotte and they explained that being "sleeved" again is actually an option. I had such an effortless great surgery in 2010 and I'm curious if there will be any risks that are greater now.

Part of my thoughts have been....okay your surgery was successful....no complications or issues. So what caused the weight gain has been my first question of course. I really think it has been a combination of things, but I can honestly say it hasn't been from overeating. Stress, getting older, lack of time to be more active. I'm sure that doesn't sound believable, but it's the truth. So how will being resleeved help? I guess I just want a second chance to get and KEEP it right. And it's funny, because I remember doing the Pre-Op diet and saying to myself...this is all mental. You can do this and not even have the surgery. After surgery we all know that its STILL work, but it's all mental and breaking bad habits. So as I'm typing this and giving myself a reality check....it may very well NOT be the surgery that I need.

Reality is reality LOL! I think that's why these forums are good. You guys may just save me from making a big mistake. You know?

Got it! Thank you! It should be updated now.

You are exactly right! My focus right now STINKS. It's like I can't get my head in the game and maybe...honestly...just looking for a quick fix. Smh. I know, I know that's bad. And what also stinks is that a big problem is that I DON'T eat.

Thank you! Yes It does say Lap Band...and I'm totally confused why. It also won't let me edit it. The Sleeve has been my only surgery. I actually mentioned to them about being re-sleeved and they said it was a possibility. My first consultation is not until December. At that time they may suggest something else. One thing is for sure...I definitely still have a little restriction...not much. And drinking and eating is still a no-no.

Hello All! Has anyone had the sleeve and then decided to get the bypass???? I've been seriously considering it or if anyone knows of any other options, please share. I was sleeved on 06/29/10 and at first I lost 102 pounds and I looked great...but now I've gained almost 40 pounds!!! And I'm feeling almost as depressed as I was at 335 pounds in 2010. Any suggestions would be great!!!

Wow! Thanks guys!!! I totally agree that something else is going on with me. I made an appointment to see a therapist through my job. I will keep you all posted on any updates. Thank you for the encouragement and advice!!!

Wow! Thanks...I'm going to read this.

Ereka...don't get me wrong. I think getting sleeved was a very good decision. I do NOT regret it at all. I'm more disappointed with myself, because all of the discipline and determination I had in 2010 has somewhat been taken over with other issues in my life and I have not remained strong. So just make sure with ANY surgery that you mentality is together. I'm a firm believer that if you are not ready to change before the surgery, then it's going to be extremely hard to change afterwards. I lost 105 pounds at the most...I've gained 40 pounds...as the others were saying that's not as bad as I think. I just have to get my discipline and determination back. I wish you all the luck and blessings.

Thank you! And it's funny, because deeply I know what you said is the BEST thing to do...just get back to the basics. I think I need to work on mental...once I get that together...I should be okay. Thank you!

Does anyone know how we can get access to those shakes and puddings that we had to eat in pre-op?? I would love to just start back there again....

OMG!! I swear you just wrote EVERYTHING that I've been going through!!! I most DEFINITELY can say I know how you feel and what you are going through. I was sleeved 06/29/10. I weighed the heaviest before surgery at 331 pounds...and I lost in a year a total of 102 pounds.......I have NOW gained back 35 to 40 pounds and I am miserable!!! I don't know which way to turn. I've tried meetings, crash diets just to get me back in the swing and nothing is working. What I realize though is that it's all mental. I've been trying to get myself to go back to that mindset and discipline that I had to do everything right with the surgery, because I was so afraid of messing things up. That is the ONLY way (in my opinion) that we can get back on track. I am so willing to help you if you help me and we can be a support system. Anything to help. You are not out here alone...believe that. I am looking for answers just like you. Someone to please help. But if I can be of any encouragement on those hard days I will definitely be that, because I understand where you are.

Huhhhhh....(big sigh). I'm writing this in total frustration with myself. I think I've totally stretched my sleeve, because nothing...and I mean NOTHING is being restricted and I'm SO scared that I am going to gain my weight back. I was sleeved about a year and a half ago...June 29th, 2010. I weighed 330 pounds at my highest (which was right before surgery). This time last year (6 months later) I weighed 215 pounds!!! Yes! I lost a total of 115 pounds in less than 6 months. How great is that! I should have been totally proud of myself...I looked and felt wonderful! But....there was always the evil food lurking over me...snacks, chips, Cookies...and soda. Time went on and my cravings have become worse and my tolerance has become better. BAD combination. To make a long story short...the past 3 to 4 months I've been drinking a lot of Soda (which is the Devil to Sleevers) and I think I've ruined my sleeve. Since March of this year my weight has slowly creeped up...I am now teetering between 235 and 240!!! Someone please help me or give me some advice or hope that I have not totally ruined my sleeve. I have cut the soda totally now. I don't what I'd do if I gain this weight back.

Ladies With Pcos What's Your Rate Of Weight Loss?
DDUKES replied to DisappearingDivis's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey Ladies! I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 22...I am now 34. I was sleeved on June 29th, 2010 and I have lost a total of 123 pounds. The first 70 were easy...I didn't have any problems or sickness. Now that I am a year and some months out...it has got hard. I am starting to crave sweets so you have to be VERY careful. As far as my PCOS symptoms...I noticed improvement after about my 4 or 5 month. My period is still irregular, but it comes every month now....just a few days to maybe a week off. Before I have gone months without having one at all. My blood pressure is WAY down and I feel great. I just have to tackle those sweet cravings and old eating habits. I am concerned about fertility...I have not really began to see if I can get pregnant or not. Before the doctor would always say it was due to the weight...ok now I've lost weight and they don't like to give definite answers still. So after the first of the year I'm going to start being very aggressive with some answers. I hope this helps a little, if you have any questions PLEASE do not hesitate to ask. Overall, I do not regret having the surgery. The hardest thing about it is having the discipline to change. It's changing habits that's the hardest. -
....but I had a taste for it and I made it. Yes....Chili Dip. I don't think it was THAT bad for me, but I know it wasn't the healthiest. I had low fat chili without beans, fat free cream cheese and fat free shredded cheese...all melted together in the oven. MMMMMMMMM..... I had 4 small wheat crackers and I only ate about a two spoonfuls of it. Is that bad you guys? I feel so guilty...but I am 4 weeks out of surgery and I am SO sick of tuna, fish, and soup. I couldn't take it anymore! LOL! I'm just now breaking my 3 week weight loss stall...I'm down 42 pounds since pre op....so I can definitely feel my body changing and wanting a little more to eat (although I can't really eat...only a few bites and I have that full feeling). Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can eat...that's good and not feel so guilty. One thing...I'm not craving anything sweet...so I guess there is hope. LOL:thumbup:

Whew! I'm glad to see someone else feels the same way I do. I was sleeved on June 29th and I was up and feeling great the next day! I was starting to think that I am doing something wrong. Since pre op I've lost a total of about 32 pounds...but now in week 2 I've stalled! My weight has not changed for 2 weeks and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. It has become very frustrating. I'm trying to increase my protein and water in take. Some days I feel like I'm drinking too many liquids, because they go down so easily. So I guess I'm kind of paying the price for feeling so good!? NO WEIGHT LOSS!!! Does anyone have any suggestions or will the weight EVER come off and did I get this surgery for NOTHING???

Had surgery on the 29th
DDUKES replied to superk272003's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had surgery on the 29th also...and I'm just a little confused. LOL! I've had nearly no pain...besides severe nausea the first day and being a little sore. Is it supposed to be this easy? Although I am worried, because even though I'm not that hungry (since it's 4th of July....it's been VERY hard to go to the cookouts) I still feel like if I wanted to (although I havent), I could go eat a full course meal without any problems. Am I supposed to feel this way? At first I had a time sipping liquids..but that lasted less than 24 hours and now I can sip a bottled water with no problem. (is that normal???) The only issue I can say that I'm having right now is gas...well at least I hope that's what it is. It a small throbbing pain that comes and goes. If I try to eat or when I'm not eating or drinking anything it appears. Usually wakes me up in the morning. Since the day of surgery I've lost about 11 pounds and I'm really hoping more comes off...I guess my nerves are just taking me over right now. Just concerned that I'm doing everything right. -
Okay...so I am EXTREMELY nervous. I've always been against any kind of weight loss surgery...but this past year...not sure what has changed my mind...but it has. I am a month away from surgery and although I've tried to read all details about it and listen to others...I'm STILL nervous. I am 32 years old and I have reached the heaviest I've ever been at 320 lbs. People say I carry my weight well...but I'm sick of hearing that. I want to be happy. One of my greatest concerns is that I am a vocalist. I do alot of performing and I don't know how my voice is going to be affected (if at all) after surgery. I surely don't want to lose it of course, because it is my source of income. Besides...I LOVE to do it! I've been reading alot of the threads and everyone's story is so inspiring. I just wanted to know if there are any singers out there and how they feel after surgery.

Any Singers Who's had the VSG???
DDUKES replied to DDUKES's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had a very small issue with acid reflux about 2 years ago...so I'm hoping that it doesn't come back afterwards either....because it makes me so hoarse. Overall, I'm just keeping faith with it all. More of me is excited and anxious to get it over with than the other part of me being nervous...especially never having any kind of major surgery before. -

:thumbup1: Oh my! LOL! No I don't do that. I had to go back and double check and make sure it wasn't a typo! That is funny!
