Finally its been 2 long gone years since I had my gastric sleeve done at columbia presbyterian hospital in NYC with Dr Aaron Roth on june 07,2011. I was at a max 565 pounds undocumented, and 2 years later im at 300 pounds. Ive lost a staggering 265 pounds in the span of these couple years and I couldnt be any happier with my journey. Here is my newest slideshow which features before surgery pictures and then pictures after my 1st year surgiversary. All the pictures were taken in clubs and whatnot but thats b/c I am a manager and even promoter for a well known DJ here in NYC. Ever since having VSG done, Ive wanted to be involved in the entertainment business somehow, its something i enjoy alot b/c I get to socialize amont other promoters, DJs, and club owners. Showing Excess skin on video & denial by insurance
brol1k posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey all, during the last few months, I have gotten a few dozen emails and messages of people asking me about my loose skin, and if I can make a video showing them. Well after much debate and over night thinking, I went ahead and made the video. Didnt upload it right away as I needed to sleep on it. please know, that I have never taken my shirt off in public due to me being ashamed of my previous weight (565), and now due to my excess skin, i feel even more subconscious. I However got denied once for reconstructive surgery....in the video ill explain in detail, please watch, rate, comment and subscribe. I thank you all for your support. -

First off, thank you for noticing my heartagram, it is my favorite group of all time, Villes voice is just heavenly. Getting into that funk was horrible as I too suffered form anxiety and depression, its a stage in life I no longer want to return to and that day, I saw it knocking on my door again. It just sucks that some people like myself can never have something without hassle. All my life I had to fight for what i wanted. All those denials to get WLS done paid off in a certain way, its taught me to fight, keep moving, be relentless, and determined, Im not going to stop pushing my insurance, I already got the letter from one of the surgeons, and one from the plastics himself, im just waiting on my dermatologist to write his and I shall present them with a huge packet of high quality pictures, letters, an article from columbia presbyterian, and a dvd copy of this youtube video, as well as pre op and post op weigh in charts. I believe that should be enough proof. And youre absolutely right about documenting, If id have known, I def would have it all documented since day one but never knew about any of this....And thank you for the compliment, making a guy blush here. -

Insurance companies do suck. But I am going through the appeal as we speak, im getting those letters put together, having this video put into a DVD disc, weigh in charts pre and post op, and print outs of all the comments from my supporters including the article columbia presbyterian did on me last year. -
