Going through a rough time being unemployed gave me too much time to think about food. Sometimes the only way to settle the nerves was to eat. In a little under 3 years I put on 70 lbs. I tried various diets and programs and just could not stick with them for any length of time. Even regular walks became hard to fit in. When you have all the time in the world to do something, you take all the time in the world to not do it. When I was in the service my roomate was a drunk and got into trouble almost everyday. After they had tried corporal punishment they had him take anti-abuse tablets every day. Any time alcohol hit his system he became ill. Even alcohol wipes on his skin. I see this procedure as something like that. This reenforces the knowledge of smaller porion sizes for me. I can't cheat the system and start again next week. I have to stick with managing my intake. My wife had the gastric bypass 10 years ago and she is stuck with excess skin and nutrient problems. This should not have those effects.
