    Why am I so hungry????????????

Sometimes what feels like hunger is actually too much acid in your stomach. Do you take a PPI? If not, I highly recommend that. If so, you might want to try a different brand. I definitely feel that feeling sometimes, but it's usually when I've eaten something that kicks up the acid levels in my stomach. Hope that helps! I'm sorry you are struggling.
  2. Sending you lots of good thoughts! Hope you wake up ready to lose!!!

    I'm having second thoughts...

Pinkbabe, I'm sorry you are going through this, and if it makes you feel any better I think a lot of people have a freak out at some point or another. I know I did! The thing that helped me through those first tough couple of weeks was to bear in mind that things would get better, my restriction would be a bit less, and I would feel more normal eventually. At 2.5 months, I can eat most things (in small quantities) and I can take fairly large swallows of Water. It gets better! Really!!! Hope you feel better soon!

    Do Sleevers Smell Bad?

Oooooh, I think if you had to wear charcoal underwear to keep down the smell would KNOW it, lol!!!
  7. So encouraging, thank you! I am in a bit of a stall, and this makes me feel better!

    Chicken, anyone?

Prior to surgery, I ate a lot of chicken, but I am finding that since surgery, I can barely choke down a bite or maybe two--and then my stomach feels uncomfortable for a while after. I'm wondering how other people are preparing their chicken so that it's tender? I have to say my previous method of grilling skinless boneless chicken breasts under the broiler is a total FAIL!

    Post-Op Hunger Poll

I voted that I do have some hunger, but it's really mild. It's more like feeling empty rather than the hunger pangs I used to get. It's pretty easy to satisfy it with very little food, so I really don't mind it. I think it actually helps me to remember to get my protein in, so I don't mind it.
  10. I hear ya!! Stalls are noooo fun! I'm not stalled right now, but it seems like I lose every other week, which can be frustrating sometimes. I think you are just at the dreaded 3 week stall and things will move SOON!!!

    Stomach tenderness at 5 weeks

Sorry, I missed this post earler, but I had tenderness in that spot (under ribs on the right side) when I went to visit my Surgeon at 4 weeks. He said that there are still internal stitches there so they can be tender. Hope that helps :-)
  14. Myrori, I love this response! "If regular diet and exercise were the answer for everyone, then no one would be fat."

    DH and his sweets

I feel like this is common for men to do this. I've definitely experienced it; my ex used to always complain about my weight and then bring home pizza and burritos for us to eat for dinner--even after I told him I had prepared something healthy for us to eat. I think they just don't understand how this affects us... but hang in there. It gets easier!
  16. It's a new month, I'm ready to ROCK March!!!

  19. I honestly think this is something that people who have never been overweight CANNOT understand. It's something they've never experienced, so the lifelong struggle, the difficulty of being overweight, the constant uphill battle is something that they just don't know. Also, because it's a surgery, she's probably frightened something will go wrong. I think maybe if you share what you've gone through, maybe your sister will understand. I was shocked when my surgeon had me list all the diets I've been on over the years. It was a list of something like 20 diets!!! I also think if you get her to check out this site, she might see the number of very healthy and happy people who have had this surgery. Regardless, I'm sure they will come around eventually. Sometimes it takes people time to adjust.

Easter Sunday - WHAT WILL YOU WEIGH???

Oh, I hope you get there! That's the best Bday present, EVAR! Rooting for you!!!!
  22. Honestly, I was so out of it, I don't remember anything from the day of my surgery, from whenever I woke up to the getting me into my bed. I didn't really feel fully conscious until the next day. My guess is that if you do wake up, it will be really brief and you won't be "with it" enough to be traumatized.
