Eat More To Lose? (I Must Be Dreaming)
LewsIn12 replied to Ready?Going..'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I also eat 5-6 small meals a day. All about 1/4 a cup, no more than 1/2 a cup. -
BTW- I didn't have protein for my first 10days after surgery, only clear liquids and --water (b/c of the heartburn- that lump) killed me. Water has a pH level and not all tummies can tolerate it. Even now, with good heartburn meds, there are some bottled waters that I just cannot drink... Some I can.

I was like that- it was reflux/heartburn. They had me on Axid- it didn't work. I got Previcid- and life has been amazing. It will get better- I promise. Play with your acid meds!

Eat More To Lose? (I Must Be Dreaming)

The nurse told me to eat more also. I'm getting about 650cal a day, and 2 days a week maybe 450-520 and one day about 850--900. I stalled at one point for 2.75 weeks. When I ate pizza, I lost 2lbs the next day, lol. Well, the scale went down. And everytime I stay the same weight for 2 days, I eat something not as great for me- like have pasta instead of chicken, and Bam, I drop weight. She said that my body is starving.... Since I've been playing w/ my calories, and dropping a day here and there, and have a high day every now n then, my weight has been sliding off... She said that if I would stay between 900 and 1000, that I would lose consistantly... but that scares me... I dont want to stretch my stomach or whatever, so I've just been counting what I eat and making good choices. I do eat so much chicken I could cluck- and I follow the protein rules and I do not drink w/ meals. I stop 15-30min before and wait 1hr to drink after. -
How Are All The June Sleevers Doing Since Surgery?:

I am late to the game. I'm Stefanie... 29yrs old, 5'2. I was sleeved on June 26th. My starting weight was 255. Today I am 216.4. Total of 49lbs lost. I'm tolerating everything, making good choices... Eating 3 meals and 3 Snacks a day. Sometimes a 4th meal if I need to. Getting about 650 calories a day, 60-78g of Protein, less than 50carbs, and about 18g of fat. I'm getting in my liquids but I could do better. I use the unjury unflavored and make a simple snoothie in the am- only once a day. The rest of my protein comes from 2 sources of dairy and the rest meat Oh and exercise... Hum, I could do more. I swim and walk casually... -

I was sleeved on 6/26. I am still on clears until Thurs appt. Maybe I will call tomorrow- I was feeling like I was going to throw up in the hospital, so they want me to take it easy, but I haven't had that since I came home. I'm ready for some cream of chicken or something. I have a Ninja- it is awesome! I can't wait to make more!!! I'm having issues getting stuff down- a lot of burning in my throat -
Help. Chunky Throat? Not Tolerating Water...
LewsIn12 posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hello all. I just had surgery on Tues, June 26th. I am having the hardest time with tolerating Water.. or anything really. I can't get it down and when I do, my throat is on FIRE. It is killing me... then I have to stand up and stretch out to help the water go down. I don't have many more options as I am still on the clear liquid diet. I am semi ok w/ chicken Soup broth and warm decaf tea. G2, water, Crystal Light- they all burn. Jello seems good. Popsicles are a hit or miss. Meds are tough. Tomorrow I am to start 4oz oz od my Protein shake twice a day. I'm scared. I am on 150mg of Axid, 2 times a day. Not sure if this is acid or what? It just feels like I have chunks in my throat. I love water and I'm dying to drink it. I just can't. It is making me miserable and I am afraid to dehydrate. Any help or ideas would be great. Thanks - Stefanie Stats: Pre-liquid diet 250.6. Hello all! I'm Stefanie, and I just found out a week ago that I was approved as a candidate for Bariatric Surgery. Ever since I've been looking into the surgery options, I've liked the idea of the Sleeve Surgery. I have my first appointment on Thursday and I'm really nervous. The Office I am going through requires a 6month pre-diet managed program. Issue: I'm so afraid I will fail! I love food I hate to say it, but I do. I'm a working mom and I struggle as a new wife to an imperfect husband! Food is my escape, always has been. I'm the kind of woman who can do things when I have to- preparing just isn't much fun! So I know when the time comes and I have the surgery and my diet HAS to change- that it won't be a problem... but the losing weight before- w/ all of my stressors, is just making me nervous. I've lost weight before, around 30lbs 4yrs ago... I ended up getting pregnant. I have PCOS, so when I lost weight, my hormones increased and BOOM, I have my daughter- and after a 9month struggle to breastfeed and everyone telling me to eat more to produce more, I now weigh more than I ever have in my life... even passed what was my highest point when I went to give birth to my daughter. Anyways- anyone have any ideas on how I can trick my brain to kick out these "I want everything now, because I don't know what I will be able to eat after" thoughts? Thanks!
