Diarrhea (Sorry For This But I Need To Know!)
banded at last replied to LisaBC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This happened to me as well. For two weeks all I ate were saltiene crackers and maybe some veggies at night. The Dr. ran all kinds of tests to make sure I did not have some type of bacteria growing, it was all negative. After two weeks I was fine, really careful of what I ate and once the real food was introducted and no more protein shakes I was fine. Down 68 pounds since Oct 3rd 2011 and 78 since September pre-diet. Good Luck it will get better... -
It think it depends on your age. I am 38 yrs old and I did not get any wrinkls, I do work out a lot so I am toning. My face only got thinner and I look much better than having a round fat face. You will do fine, dont worry about those things, think about how healthy and happy you will be and how you probably avoided a lot of future health problems... Best of luck to you.....

I feel your pain, I have those saggy old legs as well. A few years a go (i was only 36 yrs old mind you) my nephew looked at my legs and asked me how old I was. I told him that I was younger than his mother why, he said your legs look so old. I was heavy at the time so you an imagin how I felt. I have lost over 60 pounds since Oct and go the the gym every other day and i am trying very hard to get those saggy's between my legs to disappear. It is working slowly and hope my nephew this summer can see a difference seeing I am two years away from the big 40.... So for me gaining weight did not help my legs it made it worse this is why the are so bad now, yoyo dieting did my legs in..... Good luck to you and everyone that battles old saggy legs////

Way to go... I think I am going in for a second fill next Wed. I am starting to feel hungry and it is not lasting the 4-5 hours as before. I got my first fill the week after Thanksgiving and have been doing great. I just started to feel this hunger and i am glad I have this apt coming up. i am down 60 pounds since October 3rd. I watch what I eat, I do not eat sweets or bread, I love salads, yogurt, fish, chicken and veggies. I work out every other day and I love the way my body is changing. I am a stress/emotional eater and feel that is slowly becoming a way of the past now, thank goodness... Best of luck to you and happy weight loss...

Concerned About Frequent Bms Of Loose Or Soft Stools Along With Diarrah Like Cramping After Lap Band Surgery
banded at last replied to LaDena's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello - This happened to me, I actually posted somthing on here but did not get too many responses. I too went to the Dr.s and they had me give a stool sample. They tested for infections and all kinds of things. I was very disappointed when they all came back negative. I had this for about a week and a half as well. I stopped the dairy to see if it was that. No go, it was not that. I lived on saltein crackers for over a week and water to keep hydrated. It was crazy. The day or two before Thanksgiving it all stopped. I was so careful but it was a great dinner and I was fine. I have been fine ever since. I had my first fill last Wednesday so a week ago tomorrow, it went great and I feel great. I hope this works out for you, I am sure it will. Good luck and I am sure your test results will be fine. -
Hungry And Needs 1st Lap Band Fill
banded at last replied to banded at last's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Follow up on my 1st. Fill. I went into today and met with Dr and nutrionest. They said it is completly normal not to have any restriction at this point and to be hungry. I was ready for a fill for sure. I had the fill and I will be on liquids for 3 days so that is stage 3 and then right to stage 4 mushies for 3 days. Then I start stage 5 which is for life. I can feel the restriction already with the liquid so I am happy. They do not want to see me back for 4 months but gave me a 2 month apt just in case I need a fill. They said anytime I am feeling hungry or not feeling right to call they would get me right in. I hope you all have success with your fills and good luck on this journey... Krisy -

Thanks, I am glad this is normal. Good luck with your hunger, I hope the fill helps you too. I will keep you posted and let you know how it goes. -
I have been hungry since Sat. I was due for a fill last week, but they said I would not be able to eat Thanksgiving dinner so they told me to come in this week for my 1st fill. I cannot wait till Wednesday. I do not want to be hungry anymore, I loved how it was after surgery till a few days ago, no hunger and I was full fast with a few bits. I am down 40 pounds and go to the gym 4 days a week. i hope this helping this weekend. Good luck.

I was banded on October 3rd. As of today I have lost 40 pounds. I could not be happier. Well that was up till two days ago. I did great for Thanksgiving, I was not hungry and passed up pies. I had my 20 year HS reunion on Sat. night and did not eat all day, had 3 drinks and came home to eat crackers and cheese. Sunday I was a bit more hungry but did great and today Monday I am so hungry, ate more than I should have and more than I have since surgery. I have gone to the gym everyday, Wed, Fri, Sat and Sunday. I was supose to get my fill the day before Thanksgiving but said I would not be able to eat. Is my boday just saying I am ready for a fill. I do not want to be hungry like this anymore, I liked it before when I could only eat a very little. Help, has anyone else been in this situation? Thanks for your help... Krisy

Got Pregnant Before Lap Band Surgery Day
banded at last replied to ade74's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
This happened to me. I went thew two rounds of IVF with two failed pregancies. The second on was an eptopic so I needed surgery to remove the fetus. The Dr. told me I could get pregant on our own. I did not even give that a second thought, I knew that would never happen for me. Anway, after that I started the Lap Band process, we gave up on having another baby till I lost some weight. I was approved and had my June 8, 2009 surgery date. I went in for my pre-opt visit and they asked if I could be pregnant, no way. They take a blood test anyway. I was getting so excited for my surgery, it was about a week before and I was out food shopping, I was getting stocked up on some food so I could cook and freeze for my husand and 5 year old daughter. My PCP called and gave me the news. She said CONGRATULATIONS, you are PREGNANT.... I was shocked and scared at the same time. After loosing two pregancies I did not want this one which was not threw IVF to fail. I called my husband right away, he was shocked. I went in for blood work to see where my levels were and they were threw the roof. I was already 6 weeks along. So I called the Dr. and told them I had to put my surgery on hold and they said to call us 6 months to a year after having the baby. Our little blessing was born January 11, 2011, Khloe Marie. I marked the calendar for 6 months called the Surgen and becaseu it was over a year I had to have some tests done again, blood work and ekg. They had me meet with everyone in one day so I did not have to deal with coming in several times. They did not feel anything major changed, other than my weight which I was about 20 pounds more. I did however have to loose about 5 pounds before they set a date. I did that and had my surgery on October 3rd of this year. I have lost 40 pounds so far and I could not be happier. It all worked out in the end, we have our baby and I am on the road to a new and healthier me. Good Luck and I hope it all works out for you, sorry for the long story. Krisy -
That is excellent, keep up the great work... I was banded Oct. 3rd and down from 242 to 195... So excited.
