I've been seeing a lot of people who now have December surgery dates, just wanted to say HI, and give us a place to talk while we wait (and count down the days) for our surgeries. My surgery is on December 9, 2011; My doctor is Justin Braverman from the N.E.W. Program in Newport Beach, CA; I start my pre-op liquid diet on November 25th; And will be sleeved at Tri-city hospital in Hawaiian Gardens, CA. What about everyone else?

Stall ... Plateau ... Whatever, This Sucks
babigrl111 replied to ASC-MA's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I've been stuck too, I've lost 4 pounds since the beginning of February I just realized I dont think i am drinking enough water, so im going to try harder to do that. Im getting in all my protein, and am active (probably not as much as i should be though). I've read that you might be able to jump start the weight loss again if you load up on calories and fat for one day, and then go back to eating regular, that might help. I think thats what got me to lose the 4 lbs in one week last month. Just keep your head up. Everyone keeps telling me they can see the weight coming off, even though Im not losing lbs. Im trying not to get discouraged the scale isnt moving, and i barely weigh myself anymore, cuz i get annoyed when I am not showing any loss. -
Dont worry everyone, you are doing great! I havent lost as much as i thought i would the first 4 months, but im okay with it coming off slow, so my skin can catch up, lol. I've lost 33 lbs, and stalled for a little over a month, but then all the sudden i lost 4 lbs again. So it will happen, I can see the loss, and I met my first goal which was to get to 235, yay! So keep up the good work December sleevers!

My Protein Shake Brings All The Boys To The Yard..lol!

http://www.amazon.com/Pure-Protein-Ready-Drink-Vanilla/dp/B002XULCB6 Pure Protein Shakes - These are my favorite...they arent thick at all like those icky shakes, and they have tons of protein. I dont know where you live, but I can get them at a local store (Trader Joes). The vanilla tastes like egg nogg, and the chocolate is wonderful. Such a refreshing change from the protein powder, yuck! I may never go back, lol. Good luck! -
Wedding Advice?
babigrl111 replied to wanttobeamoore's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My only concern would be the wedding dress...if you keep shrinking, its going to be hard to get it altered so it fits when you, have no idea how much weight you will lose by then! Good luck and congrats! -

I'm In The Hospital

So sorry to hear about your journey so far! Thinking about you, you'll get through this! -
Ateam, your story sounds exactly like mine! I'm going into my fourth week post-op, and have lost 13 lbs since surgery, 20 total. I only weigh myself once a week, and didnt lose any weight last week. It is discouraging, and i fear somehow i will fail the sleeve, but the good news is...we cant! We will lose, whether it be fast or super slow, we'll get there! Its hard when you see others who have lost like 30 lbs in one month, but I try and think of the positives, like the slower we lose the more time our skin has to catch up, lol! Most people stall, we just gotta keep going, and we will lose again! I promise!

I had to push my scale under the kitchen table where i cant see it every day, and only weigh myself once a week. I too am stalling bigtime, but inches are coming off (i was able to fit into my jeans again, woo hoo!). So even if you're not losing pounds, you're probably losing inches!

Congrats on 38 lbs! Thats amazing!

Yay! Its nice getting compliments! And sometimes our bodies lose slower at times, dont get discouraged!

http://www.amazon.com/Pure-Protein-Ready-Drink-Vanilla/dp/B002XULCB6 These are my favorite...35 grams of protein, 110 calories, and 1 gram of sugar. I was so sick of the protein powder and the thickness of it, these have been a lifesaver.

12 Days Post Op Stall? & 6 Days Post Op Entry
babigrl111 commented on AmberDawn's blog entry in AmberDawn's Blog
I've been hungry too, and on a stall, and my surgery was Dec 9th. Im right there with you on everything, lol. My left incision was the worst of the pain. I can take bigger sips of liquids now too, its normal. I have been on soft foods since the 23rd, and it has been the best. Im so sick of the shakes, but ive been getting all my protein in, need to be better about the liquid requirement though. Good luck, we'll get there, even if we go at a slow pace. Oh and i've pushed my scale under the dining room table so i dont see it when i walk by, and am only weighing myself once a week cuz i was driving myself crazy with it. I stopped weighing myself for 4 days and when i did i had lost 3 lbs! Much better feeling. -
Just A Quick Gripe And Comment On My Holiday Eating
babigrl111 commented on GonnaBHotMama's blog entry in GonnaBHotMama's Blog
Yay, good for you! I too left cheesecake on my plate Chirstmas Eve (only mine was because I couldnt eat anymore being post-op). I wouldnt have had the self-control before the surgery, so congrats! Most of us know just how hard that is to do! -

Thanks for the reminder! I think we discourage ourselves when we see other people losing faster than us, but this is not a race! We will all lose at our own pace. -
Yay, 20 lbs gone I'll never see again! Only weighing myself once a week so I dont get discouraged.

Since my surgery on December 9th ive lost 13 lbs, total 20 with the pre-op diet (started day after Thanksgiving). I seem to have stalled out already too, so i stopped weighing myself daily, and am only doing it once per week. I pushed my scale under our kitchen table where i cant see it so i am not tempted to get on it. I've been told by a few people they can already see a difference, so im really excited to hear that, because I havent really been able to tell. Then again, 20 lbs when i started out at 267 doesnt seem to have a huge impact on anything, lol.

Good luck remaining December sleevers! Our prayers and thoughts are with you!
