    Pbing After Fill

Hello, Had a serious fill yesterday, and am struggling with getting anything down thats not liquid. I tried to eat some mashed banana but started foaming at the mouth, not a great experience. What does PBing mean? I had surgery in December, and have had 3 fills since. Have lost 30 lbs to date, another 20 to go, but its slow... Im quite certain that this fill has been the biggest to date, as I certainly hadn't felt this type of restriction before. Any suggestions for managing my inability to get anything down? I can go on liquids, but was wondering if anyone has any insight? Will this loosen up at all in time? Please advise, and thanks in advance. AMC
  3. I had my surgery Dec 1. My start weight was 201, weight day of surgery 194. Today my weight is 182, but it hasnt really moved since December 16th. Im really frustrated. Ive been waivering between 184.5 and 182 since mid December. Ive had 2 fills since surgery, and dont notice a marked difference, as I am eating very clean. Generally speaking my daily diet includes: 2 -3 yogurts (Greek, plain flavor, 100 calories, 17 gram Protein, 0 fat) 4 oz. 2 portions of lean meat - (chicken, tilapia, scallops, lobster, all plain, just broiled) sauteed spinach, or cooked broccoli sugar free popsicle or Jello or pudding. Additionally, I have been exercising like a beast. Month to date, I have logged 97 miles on my bike, and do at least 6 miles a trip... Im so sad, and frustrated. I paid for surgery out of pocket, and am wondering if its going to be worth it for me... Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Also, I realize my weight loss goal is significantly less than many on the board. I can appreciate that the less you have to lose, the slower it goes, but please dont comment if you have anything nasty to say. I made the SAME committment as everyone else, and felt that the response to my last post was less than encouraging. I hadnt been on the board since, but today feel very desperate. HELP
  4. Good morning. Im about to leave on a trip for work, and was hoping for some insight. I started my pre-surgery diet at 201.lbs on Nov 12. Banded on November 30th - with no issues whatsoever. Weight day of surgery 193.5. I went in a week later Dec 6 for follow-up and had what the dr called a small fill. I was 187 on that day, and have been stuck at 187. I have been sticking to the diet religiously - Protein shakes (Muscle Milk lite 2 x a day), broth, sf Jello, sf pudding, nonfat- plain greek yogurt, and THATS it. All in relatively small portions 4 oz (maybe 6 oz shake & broth). Additionally, Ive been exercising - biked 6 miles a day for past few days, and have walked everyday for past week (as soon as dr said it was ok). I keep looking for the scale to drop and its stuck. Its been about a solid month since I started pre0surgery diet. Any tips? Words of wisdom? 60 lbs will take an awfully long time at this rate. HELP!!!!
  5. Wow. I was banded 1 week as of yesterday. Im down 6 lbs. Was down 8 before surgery. 14 total. When you have your first fill, how does that usually impact weight loss? I went for my follow-up post surgery and Dr did a partial fill on Tuesday... This whole process is so much easier than I expected. Can anyone share information about their weight loss the first month after banding? I'm on liquids (protein shakes, Jello, sf pudding etc). Id be thrilled with 50 off in 3.5 months. Thats such a huge loss. Any information would be appreciated. thanks

    Here I Am Again...

You can do it. This is different than all the diets of the past. Believe me, Ive tried them all and then some, and always ended up exactly in the same place. Im following the rules, listening to the dr, and taking it one day at a time. I agree with my friend above - listen to your husband, Unlike before I bet you think about every bit of food that goes into your mouth. That will change all the rules for you. You can do it - dont psych yourself out.
  7. One more thing. Try Muscle Milk Lite. They are 100 calories, loaded with protein and very tasty.
  8. Are you in the pre-surgery phase of the diet? I have done liquids (Optifast, Medifast, etc) for months, before doing it for the surgery. It takes about 3 days for your body to adjust to liquids. You have to be certain to not let an excessive amount of time lapse between shakes, or you will down your next shake and not enjoy it. Also, if it is in the pre-diet phase and your "shake" is mixed - perhaps you can add slightly less liquid to make it more of a pudding consistency to eat with a spoon. I did liquids for 18 days before surgery, and was banded on Wednesday. Now Im back on liquids again - the first few days were Clear Liquids (broth, sugar free Jello, gatorade) and that was a little tough. I was able to add in Protein shakes 2 x a day now and Im feeling fine. You can do it...
  9. I had my procedure (done laproscopically and outpatient) this morning. Arrived ay 7:30 am, prepped and in operating room by 8:30 AM. I woke up in recovery at 10 AM, and was on my way home by 11:00AM. I can walk (with ease) - am a little sore at the incision sight, but nothing awful. My throat is a little sore from the anesthesia tube, but that is the worst of it. I do have minor gas pain in my upper shoulder. Dr had to repair a hernia while he was in there. I've responded to emails for work, napped a little, and have daydreamed of the changes to come for me. I have been on liquids for past 3 weeks to drop pre-surgery weight - it was only really challenging on Thanksgiving, but I know will be worth it. I'm on my way..and should have considered this years ago. Starting weight 201.5, Day of Surgery 192... Goal 150 (or south)... Dont be afraid...
  10. Jojo, How much weight did you lose total, and how long did it take??

    I was banded today!

Wow, congratulations. Im so excited- I have just 16 more days to go and cannot wait. Good luck, and Im looking forward to hearing about your journey...
  12. November 29th. I can hardly wait. Today I started my pre-surgery diet. Dr. wants me to drop 10 lbs prior to surgery so Im on liquids till the 29th. He did give me the okay for a bite of turkey on Thanksgiving. This is it for me. November 29th cannot come soon enough,. How soon after the surgery will I be able to drive, and function normally? Im sure Ill have lots of questions, so Ill appreciate any guidance and insight I receive. Anne Marie
