I had originally been told about the Lap-Band surgery sometime in 2008. I attended the seminar and was pleased with what I saw, but I was thinking there was no way my insurance would cover that and honestly I was nervous about it, so I didnt go through. Oddly enough a few people I know got the surgery and it worked well, but I was still pushing it to the side. Until one day I was sitting at home after getting off work, my feet were aching and I was just plain tired. So the next day when I woke up I picked up my phone and called my insurance company and asked about the procedure and if I was covered. It turns out I had 100 percent coverage, I just had to go through a 4 month supervised diet along with some other steps.
During the 4 month period I lost a little over 20 lbs and another 16 lbs during my pre op liquid diet. I had my surgery today(11-2-11), Im hurting a little bit right now, but hopefully thatll turn around soon. Im gonna do the best I can for this procedure to be a sucess and not in complete vain.
