  1. Hi there, I wanted to thank you immensely for your post. I have been dealing with very similar issues (surgery 10/12). I really appreciate you having the courage to put our real problems out there. Don't listen to the "haters" -- they obviously got fat by making only healthy lifestyle choices!!!! I have not had the issue with liquids, but still have had the issues with head hunger. I am eating things I probably shouldn't yet, and have experienced some chest pain afterwords as a result. Everyday is new hope though. I haven't had much weight loss this week but am really hopeful that it will start again soon. Hang in there. I think we will be fine! Good luck to you and your wife!
  2. I am two weeks post op and have am doing so much better than I thought I would. I haven't really had any problems with any foods although sometimes there is pain in my chest after I eat. The problem is that I am finding that it hasn't been long enough to lose all my old habits. I denifitely can't eat near as much as I used to, but I am still snacking between meals and am quite certain that halloween candy is not allowed! I really want to be successful and feel so guilty about this, but I think we all know what guilt leads to....so I am trying to stay calm and figure out a good balance. I have been reading tons of posts where people have been barely able to manage liquids and I was wondering if there was anyone out there like me. I know that I have to be only eating about a quarter of the food I was once eating so I am hoping I wiil still have success. Has anyone else experienced a fear that surgery will not work?
