I seriously never thought this day would come, but just short of 6 months post op I am at goal. I really thought I would be the person this surgery didn't work for. I haven't been this small since elementary school, and I couldn't be happier!!!

Thanks! I lost 77 pounds, so we are really close on our loss. I hadn't lost anything for almost 4 weeks and when I woke up this morning I had dropped another 5 pounds doing nothing differently. Congrats on your loss and being so close to goal!!

For the last week I have had really bad back pain on my lower right side. The Dr. Initially thought it might be my kidneys, but all my tests have come back normal. Did anyone else have this? The Dr. said it might just be my body readjusting. I normally have a pretty high pain tolerance, but i'm hurting more now than I did after surgery.

My Before And 6 Month Photos

Amazing! You look great!!! -
I tried the bariatric advantage vitamins before surgery and they were fine. Every time I have taken them after surgery I vomit. Not sure why I can't take them anymore. Costco has a great deal this week on gummies vitamins and calcium.

Throwing Up Chewble Vitamins!
Meli01 replied to Blugirl's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
The same exact thing happens to me! I tried the bariatric advantage vitamins before surgery and had no problem, but now they make me throw up. At first I was taking liquid multivitamins from Costco, but now I have switched to gummies ones. -

10 Weeks Post-Op, Looking For A Mentor, Struggling, Pcos

You are doing great! 42 pounds in 10 weeks is a lot. You are so close to being under 40 bmi, which is a huge accomplishment in that little amount of time. I don't think you could overdue it with liquid if you tried, if you don't like plain water have you tried adding crystal light or mio to your water? What are you eating for your protein? -

Seeking Female Wls Buddy To Text
Meli01 replied to strawberryblue's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Have you tried sugar free Popsicles, those saved me in the beginning. You should see if your doctor will give you a prescription for Prilosec, or try the over the counter version. I am 5' 6". I hate to admit it, but I really haven't done much exercise up to this point. I just recently started taking Jazzercise, so hopefully that can get me to my goal a little faster. -
Seeking Female Wls Buddy To Text
Meli01 replied to strawberryblue's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am from the San Jose area. I started out at 233 and i am now 164. My doctor had me on Prilosec for 2 months after surgery to help with the heartburn. I never had a problem before surgery but if I forgot to take my Prilosec in the morning I was hurting. Now that I'm almost 4 months out I don't have heartburn anymore. -

What Are Your Coping Mechanisms?
Meli01 replied to justmeandmysleeve's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I don't think your food choices we're all that bad. Yes you had a lot, but after surgery you won't be able to overeat. I have a chicken taco for dinner all the time. I do t eat the shell, and I can usually only eat about half of it. As far as the Peanut Butter, I eat a spoonful of it a few times a week as a snack and it hasn't effected my weight loss at all. -
When Did Y'all Start Back Driving?
Meli01 replied to ThickChocolate's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I drove 2 days after surgery, a very short drive to take my daughter to school. The 3rd day after surgery I drove about half an hour on some errands. You should be fine as long as you aren't taking any pain meds. -
I tried sushi at about 3 months out and didn't have any problems. I was only able to eat a couple pieces before I got full, but the rice didn't bother me at all.

I have been taking be-beautiful hair skin and nail chewable vitamins from GNC. I'm almost 4 months out and I am not loosing any more hair than normal. I know there are a lot of things you can take, but these seem to work really well for me.

My surgery was almost 4 months ago and only one of my incisions is still visible. I had 4 total incisions and the larger one above my belly button is still a little dark, I'm really hoping it fades like the other ones have.

Just Curious About Eating Times
Meli01 replied to angelakay2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It depends completely on what I am eating for how much I can eat. I can have a cup of soup or a small salad no problem, but 3 bites of chicken or steak and I am stuffed. I try to make sure I have protein first, and I rarely have room for anything else. -
Confused About How To Take Calcium
Meli01 replied to PEvette's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Thanks! I even went and read my paperwork again and it doesn't mention splitting up my calcium doses. I will try splitting up my calcium chew doses throughout the day. -
