March Sleevers..are You Happy W/your Progress?
Meli01 replied to DDFinn's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved March 12th. Before pre- diet I weighed 233. Day of surgery I was 222, and today I am 203. I feel like my loss has been pretty slow. I lost 6 pounds the first week, 6 the second, 3 the third and 4 the fourth. I was complaining about my slow loss to my bf and he said that even if I loose 3 pounds a week I will still get to goal in less than 6 more months. I know how you feel about being n the same size clothes, I had really hoped to have dropped a size by now. I took pictures before surgery and I don't even really see a difference. I figure I will see it eventually. -
My doctor wrote that I needed to be off work for a medical issue, and the amount of time i needed off. She said that is all the information they are entitled to.

My Insurance requirements were a single nutrition visit and a referral from my PCP. I have the access plus BCBS plan.

I lost 6 pounds my first week post op, I seem to be losing pretty slow.

Congrats and good luck!!

I know how you feel, when I was going through my surgery I couldn't find anyone else with BCBS California. I completed all my prep tests before my surgery was approved. My surgery was scheduled for 3 weeks after I got my approval letter. I started my pre-op testing and appointments on December 18th and my surgery was March 12th.

I have bcbs California and mine was approved in 3 days. There were very few insurance requirements as well. Good luck

I'm only 2 weeks out and not getting to eat real food yet, but my myfitnesspal account is melinda011. It might be fun to have some friends on there I can look to for food choices. -
I had my surgery on 3/12 and I am down 12 pounds, so I think you are doing great having lost 20.

How Long Were You In The Hospital?
Meli01 replied to madambones's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was in the hospital overnight. My surgery was at 7am and I left the hospital by 9am the next morning. The doctor just wanted to see that I could keep fluids down before I was discharged.
